  1. I went out of my way to buy dog food for Buddy, and a 12 pack for me. We are currently very laid back, and at peace. Since my basement is a sound proofed studio, we wouldn't hear a train coming through! You can barely hear lightening, but even that has stopped.
  2. We had a flicker or two, but nothing enuff to shut off the comp. Although, it sounds like that might change soon....you're down the street from me....hear it getting closer?
  3. Prayers sent out to all families affected by this storm. That aside, you folks ought probably stay up a while and be on the lookout....or shack up somewhere in the basement and just sleep till it's over. Either way, yall be safe!!! We are all in the same boat on this one, so let's keep our heads and be ready for whatever comes our way.
  4. How close are you to your neighbors? If one of them had a full, dug out basement, I'd go there....even if you didn't like them, but impending danger draws people together. At first to offer shelter, then in a bad aftermath, the GOOD in people shine like the sun, as we help our neighbors clean up and fix whatever. Done that, been there. MANY times!!! (I'm from here, all my life)
  5. OOOppps!!! Wrong pic!! But since I already did, then allow me- "you tell 'em I'M coming, and HELL'S comin' with me, you hear??? HELL'S comin' with me!!!
  6. Simple- cause freshwater fish just stink. They can't help it though. They're fish. Maybe that stank is a mating deal with fish...??? I know that a catfish will bite the stinkiest thing you can throw in the water. Not sure what the point was on that...went too far with the "what stinks to us, could be like expensive perfume to a fish. Uaugh-iyte-den. Mmmmmmm. I REALLY enjoyed having a day off today!!!
  7. That's true. I had Blue Gill for the first time about 3 years ago....boney little suckers, but MAN, the meat is GOOOD!!! You just pick the meat out with a fork though....a lot like crappy.
  8. There's a lot of wind, but radar keeps showing all of this stuff well north of us....??? LINK
  9. Yes, I got him. He's GREAT. His name is "Buddy". He's already made himself quite at home. We stayed up late last night watched Sling Blade together. I wonder what I'll pop in tonight, since it looks like another night in the basement.
  10. I noticed that too...seems to be north of here.
  11. All I had was a crawl space when I lived in Marietta. I forget the year (it was like the mid 90's) but a tornado ripped through my area 1 mile from my house. I was in my bath tub with a mattress pulled over me, scared CRAPLESS while I heard trees snapping like a giant was snapping 2x4's with his bare hands. The most frightening thing I have ever heard in my life!!! This was the one that tore down through Windy Will Rd and 41. I was living off Pat Mell at the time, and the twister was between me and Powder Spring Road.
  12. Having lived in GA all my life, one of the first things I did, was furnish my basement with enough comforts to sleep there when this junk comes along.
  13. I'm with you...it's SO beautiful outside right now!!! This is gonna suck.
  14. My man cave!! It's pretty well dug into the ground, with no windows, and concrete blocking all around 3 sides of it. Hopefully that will be good enough if all hell breaks loose.
  15. I slept in my basement last night with my dog, on his first night with me. Looks like I'll be sleeping down there again...probably the whole family from the sounds of this!!
  16. Thank you. Writing down name and number right now.
  17. This is not helping my house call bizz, but I'll NEVER complain about rain again. I could do W/O the stormy part though.
  18. You'll do GREAT!!! I've no doubt about that!
  19. Best of luck to you!! I hope you find great opportunities while you are there. You will be missed!
  20. That would have been HELL for his parents, if it had been my yard....nuff said! Any kids who rips thru my yard and destroys ANY of my property will have a problem with me- first with his parents. I won't hesitate to knock on a door and tell them about their hellion. If that doesn't work, then I can virtually see this kid crying when he goes out and sees his 4 wheeler tires are FLAT....and slashed beyond repair. Hey, that's just me. I have little tolerance for what you mentioned about property destruction on such a level as that. If his mommy and daddy fixes the tires and he's back at his o
  21. Salmon offers more nutrients than Talapia (although I prefer the latter). The only thing I would tell you is to watch out for certain fish which are known to have higher levels of Mercury in them. I can't name them off the top of my head, but an online search will clue you in, fast!
  22. Welcome...and I may be talking with you soon, if my agent doesn't get back with me shortly!
  23. Thanks for all your advice folks. I am currently waiting to hear back from my agent who I have everything else with.
  24. Nah.. That was funny though, and I know what you mean! Just keep your eyes peeled for young'ns who may show up somewhere with a BB gun in their hands. When you do, then go straight to their parents and clue them in. I will admit, when we were kids, we shot more than a few things we shouldn't have. There were no cell phones, computers, and all that other crap that kids are consumed with today. So, after shooting a few birds and squirrels, we would get restless- and there was always that ONE crazy guy in our bunch who came up with the idea of shooting things we shouldn't have. Looking back now,
