  1. I live right by there and I can't remember noticing! I can tell you that there is now an auto parts store in the Publix shopping center on East Paulding Drive.
  2. Don't most schools have security cameras these days? If so many children were involved in the bullying then you would think there would be witnesses.
  3. My two are not LED which is another reason why I love them. However, I am sure that they have LED lights within that brand of tree.
  4. Over the past 10 years I have discovered the GE Just Cut Series from Lowes. I think they are middle range in the cost of an artificial tree. However, what I love about them is their realistic needles on the ends of the limbs. The needles on the ends are made of a kind of soft, rubbery pvc, but look real! This helps to avoid those nasty scratches I typically receive from trying to decorate trees that have cheap needles on wires. The rubbery ends also give the tree a fuller appearance and GE puts a TON of lights on these trees. I have one very large, full one in the basement that we did put up i
  5. Does anyone know what her regular route was? I am also very thankful her husband had the moral strength to turn her in.
  6. This wasn't just pulling at the hair until a bald spot developed. A large spot of her scalp was TORN and doctors have said she will likely never grow hair in that area again! They are looking into the possibility of a future wig for her. Meanwhile, she has had her head shaved to aid healing. Her mother and aunts have also had their heads shaved in support. Hair pulling to this degree is bullying and ASSAULT! If an adult did this to anyone in front of witnesses then they would go to prison and be made to pay restitution. Yes, these children who were seen performing the acts to this girl sho
  7. Iceman, I heard the exact same gunfire at 4:15 am that morning. However, I live in Twelve Oaks off of East Paulding Drive and it sounded very close to me too! It started off with 2 slow shots, following by 4 rapid shots. Paulding county does have laws in place regarding firing a weapon in a residential area and having to be _____ amount of feet from any roadway but those firing the weapons should keep in mind that some rifles can fire a bullet a mile or more away! So please be careful. Most of Paulding is too crowded to be considered "in the country or in the sticks" anymore.
  8. This would be perfect for my mother in law! Over 13 years of marriage I have lost count of how many of their local cookbooks she has sent to me. They live in NW Minnesota, so quite a few of those local recipes are a bit unusual here in the south.
  9. I also recommend Marietta Eye. I've been going to them for years. I go to their main location which is the one on Canton Rd. and it is very close to Kennestone Hospital.I think the correct spelling for my doctor's name is Dr. Thurschwell.
  10. Thank you Dana. I've loved his music for 30 years but I haven't listened to any in a while. This was a reminder for me.
  11. Mei lan, you could try putting some bug zappers out AWAY from your crape myrtles. After they become beetles they are attracted to the zapper's light. In the 80s a good friend's mother had a huge row of blueberry bushes off of Mt. Tabor Rd. here in Paulding. She used bug zappers to keep the June bugs away from the bushes and boy were there a TON of those bugs! She would have to clean out the zappers every couple of days.
  12. The grubs in this area typically hatch in the spring and eat the roots of your grass, so they CAN kill off spots of grass on your lawn. Here at my house they also come out onto the driveway when it rains hard as they are looking for higher ground, along with the earthworms. These grubs are actually the larva of our local "June Bugs" that like to eat our fruit, roses and ornamental plants. The grubs are attractive to possum and armadillos who root for them and tear up the yards. We fertilize our grass at least once a year to help strengthen our root system, which in turn helps to fight agai
  13. More charges are pending on the autopsy results. They want to make sure to do everything exactly by the book so he doesn't get off on a technicality.
  14. Armadillos and possums will dig holes like that because they are searching for grubs and earthworms. Guess what grubs like to eat? The roots of your grass! Both the grubs and the varmits can do some serious damage to a yard, so your best bet is to apply something to kill off at least some of the grubs. It has helped some with our grub issue but we also have a TON of robins feeding on the grubs and earthworms when it rains hard. They will search for higher ground when it rains too hard and get stuck going nowhere on our driveway. When the rain stops the robins have a buffet going down the lengt
  15. I do believe that this weekend is also the first weekend of the Apple Fest in Ellijay. I can't decide where to go there is so much going on!
  16. Subby makes it, so maybe he can chime in with a recipe. I do remember he said to put cookie sheets on top of your vehicles before the snow starts so you won't have to gather it from the ground or other dirty surfaces. I know that doesn't help as far as air pollution caught in it, but it helps some.
  17. Will there be any arts and crafts, other than the toys?
  18. I have been curious about the difference too.
  19. That won't be enough to satisfy a tummy on a long term soft food diet. I speak from experience with dental issues. Go to GNC and get her some high protein diet shakes or the powder to make them. I am not talking about the 10 mg Special K shakes. I am talking about 20+mg of protein, other wise the body will quickly start breaking down muscle and she probably won't feel full enough on those other items for.very long. Eventually she will feel like eating something a little more solid but not completely solid. Try very finely crumbled ground beef and mashed up pasta, soft rice, etc. Basically
  20. Wayne reloads some of his ammo. It's cheaper but takes up a lot of time and you HAVE to know what you are doing for safety reasons. As long as the reloads do not contain steel cores they are ok at the range.
  21. I don't think we are allowed by Paulding, com to post the phone number in this topic, but here is The Governor's Gun Club's FaceBook page for you to find their information. We joined a few weeks ago. They do not allow steel cores inside the bullet or anything over a .308 for use on the range. https://www.facebook.com/governorsgunclub
  22. Isn't there a public pool at Taylor Farm Park? That should be near you Pseudofed.
  23. Psssstttt! Can you please message me SoapMom's FB name? I miss speaking with her on Paulding.com
  24. This kind of sounds like a riddle!
