  1. I also recommend staying on property -- shuttles will take you all over. There are other perks to staying on the property also. Depending on your budget, any Disney resort is good! I LOVE Ft. Wilderness Campground also -- it is really Disney's best kept secret -- I love it when people say, OH, I don't want to be in a campground! They have no idea how nice this place is...it's really a glorified campground!! I love the private beach, Trading Post stores and Chip and Dale's Campfire singalong at night with a movie under the stars!! Enjoy!!
  2. Hello all --- looking for some help! Came out of church today and my iphone was just (and remains) completely dead. It had a good charge prior to, and I have had it charging for a few hours. Still dead! I have tried pushing both buttons to try and get to the apple, but still...nothing. I've got a bad feeling about this... Any thoughts are appreciated!
  3. I saw this played at a teenager party once -- It's called Mummy wrap - teams of two pair off, one stands still and the other walks around him/her with tissue paper -- the first couple to complete the roll wins! It was a big hit and got competitive fast! Could be even funnier with alcohol! Have fun!
  4. OMGoodness -- please don't forget about Costco -- they have the BIGGEST chicken pot pies that easily feed 10, so if you had to buy 2, I don't think it would be over $20-$25 - PLUS it is super yummy -- they also sell (in bulk,) crossoints, muffins, etc.!!)
  5. Just wanted to mention something about Red Top -- the restaurant/lodge is CLOSED!! Soooo sad, we were there last weekend. They are hoping an investor will come in and rescue it, but not likely. They are just keeping a skeleton ranger staff around for the trails and lake access. Congrats!
  6. Interesting how long it took this girl to report this...perhaps she was OK with it, until she saw how much Tiger's girls ended up with!! Bottom line rich boys -- love your wife, stop being dumb!!
  7. PERFECT!!! That is close to the church and I just checked the website -- exactly what I was looking for!! THanks!
  8. Looking for a nice place to take family for brunch after baptism in a few weeks. We will be on the Cobb/Paulding line near Marietta -- The only place I can think of is The Old Mill in Downtown Acworth. Any suggestions??
  9. This morning around 9-ish, I saw the largest flock of birds in my neighborhood -- there had to be thousands of them!!!!! They definately looked like they were just migrating and stopped off for a rest, but it was awesome!!! Does anyone know what they could be? They looked like crows, but smaller -- they were pretty noisy as they poked the ground looking for bugs. It took about 20 minutes for the whole flock to pass through!!
  10. I was going to suggest DAK Kids, but that many 2 year old running free doesn't sound like something I would want to chase after, plus some kids still eat sand at that age -- great place for winter though. I would think McDonalds is the most fun/cost effective. Have fun!
  11. I have purchased 3 cars through Carmax and LOVE them!!! All 3 cars never gave us any major problems, and they gave me a great trade-in price. THE best place to go to get a good, used car. The salesman even asked if I were interested in working there!! Good luck!
  12. Exactly my point!! You didn't see much damage because they didn't show it!!!! Palm Beach, Broward and Dade beaches were severely impacted -- they took it off the news so fast we couldn't beleive it!! Schools were closed for THREE weeks, no water or power for about the same time. Just sayin!
  13. I am still waiting for the Dateline special on Hurricane Wilma...let me guess, you don't recall? about 2 months after Katrina; it hit South Florida with a punch not seen since Andrew. Because the people of South Florida know that tourism is their bread and butter, you better believe they picked themselves UP!! My family survived every window blowing in on them and riding it out in the closet!!!! We had no water or power for over two weeks!!! Where's MY dateline story?!?! Oh, and I neve saw FEMA, btw!!!
  14. Most hotels in the area will shuttle to the Magic Kingdom, then just hop on the monorail!
  15. Thank you so much for the info -- looks like fun!!!
  16. I would LOVE to go to this, but have the same problem as last year -- nothing is ever advertised about it!!! Where is it? When is it?? How much is it?? Would love to know!!
  17. I would go up and have lunch with her Friday. Ask the teacher for specifics. All teachers have different tolerence levels. I've experienced K teacher with very high expectations of the kids and another who could have cared less!! My child had the same experience that you are, and it was very upsetting to not celebrate the first week of school. Get active with the teacher, I volunteered some time in her class and was able to see for myself how she managed the classroom.
  18. I stopped in the other day and was told they had just signed with an FBO (she thought they would be naming it Atlanta Jet). The person I spoke with said this same company owned other FBO's in the nation, think she mentioned Cleveland Jet or something like that. Should be hiring line service soon and opening in September.
  19. Kentucky Fried Chicken's "Chicken Littles" -- These were my FAVORITE!!! They were only 33 cents each!! They have tried to introduce the "snacker" -- but it's not even close!!!
  20. Oh No!!! I lived in Tampa and can tell you that his Obit will include some unknown, wonderful things that he did for that city!!!! As a native NY'er I really grew to admire him over the years -- he will be missed!!
  21. LOL!!! Never thought of it like that -- funny! -- Thanks all for your suggestions!!!
  22. OK, since last week, my son and husband have found 3 different beehives in our backyard -- my internet research says they are "ground bees" that inhabit old mole tunnels (our last disaster) -- Question is: How do I get rid of them? Anyone know who to call? Does Paulding have BeeBusters??
  23. Graceland is very interesting, but you may walk away somewhat saddened by how commercial it is and how really small/70'sish the house is -- although I tried to imagine it how it was when he lived there and the street outside was empty. I think the stonewall outside the house is the most interesting of all -- fans from all over the world have written on it and you could spend a while just reading it! Personally, Rondevous was overhyped for me -- I love ribs and was not prepared for the dry rubbed kind, so left thinking -- What is the big deal about that place?!? Good eats all over -- try Cor
  24. I went in thinking "I'll just nap if its really that bad" and found that it was tolerable. Would recommend for little kids only (3rd grade tops). With todays ticket prices I think I could have waited for video, especially when there are some good films this summer. So far, wished I would have waited on this one and Shrek -- but LOVED Karate Kid (would say 3rd grade and older on this one!)
