  1. SSShhhhhhh! I have kept my kids in the dark and it is TOO much fun watching them walk around complaining about the weatherman, etc.!!! Can't decide if I will tell them before bed or just let them wake to a "winter wonderland"...think I will opt for the latter, such great memories from growing up in the North as a kid!!!
  2. Personally, I am thoroughly enjoying the fact that there is nothing yet....Have my child convinced they are going to school tomorrow (keep changing the channel when they show the closings) They are walking around complaining about the weather man, getting their clothes together for tomorrow, finishing homework....It is HYSTERICAL!! My hope is to show them the flakes falling in the next hour or so and tell them....or let them find out like I did when I was a kid up North...in the morning!! Trust me, closest thing to Christmas Morning that there is!!!
  3. I REALLY hope this place can stay in business -- it is in a strip plaza that is all but defunct!! I support all the stores at this intersection and this place really is a precious gem -- even if it is a bit small. Hope they will consider a stand alone location with better frontage in the near future!!!
  4. Her Grandfather was also baseball legend Dallas Green. So sad!
  5. This is a GREAT post -- I knew nothing about dieting, 35 lbs just sort of showed up along the years, and tried this diet. Please research the whole book and understand what the induction part of the diet is -- while it is a pretty easy diet to maintain for a week or so I(and you will see results), it can have very scary repercussions is you are not 100% on board. I lost 13 lbs in about 2 weeks, then thought, great I can do the rest on my own (plus I was really tired of cheese and pepperoni! and bad breath!) Over the next 2 weeks, I went into carb binges like I had NEVER, EVER had before --
  6. Just got back from JC Penney in Hiram -- they had great sales on almost everything! Going to a friends for NYE, so picked up a great hostess gift for $4.99!! 60-70% off kids PJ's also!
  7. Just filled my feeder outside for the first time in about a month and there are TONS of birds -- guess its been a rough few days for them also! Many visiting Northern birds that I don't normally see -- if you have seeds, they will come!
  8. Hubby just called going towards Marietta from the Northeast part of the county -- took side roads through Cobb (Due West, Paul Samuel Rd - 41) said it was fine. Some small spots of ice, but no big problems. He did say that there were cars from last night all over the place still! Not sure about 120 towards Marietta.
  9. REALLY don't understand a new building when the whole corner is just about empty. When we first moved here, the Kroger strip was the only thing there -- called and inquired about space -- the management team charged a very high price for a spot, but then oddly said we could have the space next to it for nothing (for the 1st few months). My guess is that many of the defunct restaurants, shops, etc. that have come and gone suffered the same fate. Sad.
  10. I wish I knew what happened also -- such a strange way to start a day...It's like a twilight zone!
  11. Then, maybe OP...shouldn't start such posts to begin with??? Hmmm..
  12. Yup! Totally calling Bullshh!t on the whole post!! Everyone wondering if she is too busy taking care of her OWN family, yada, yada, yada -- Had time today to start a very controversial post, add input and then........nothing? Bullsh!~t!
  13. OK, Going out on a limb here, but I am beginning to think this Orignal Post was completely made up -- why not update????
  14. There's some strange similarities...so sad that people do this. "You need a license to fish, but they'll let any moron parent" - Keanu Reeves -Parenthood.
  15. Looks like I may have interjected the first gender reference - was thinking about an earlier post from someone who mentioned this happened to them and the little girl stayed with them for 3 days. So to be clear -- don't think we know the gender. REALLY wish the OP would come back and give us an update. Hope they weren't scared off with all the DFACS negative talk.
  16. Wait...didn't you offer to help watch her just a few posts ago?? The OP shouldn't be chastized for what she "should have" done - she was helping someone out and has been gravely taken advantage of.
  17. THAT is the very, very sad reality.
  18. It is probably a case of them taking advantage of the OP, my point is that the next time they leave their child with someone they hardly know...that person will be so kind. DFACS should know about this type of irresponsible parent.
  19. SCARED?? Really? How do you think the little girl feels...
  20. I would call DFAS -- even if they show up in the next 30 minutes -- DFAS needs to know that a parent left their child with basically a stranger and did not come back at the promised time. Otherwise, you are really opening yourself up for liability (i.e. does the child have any allergies? what if she falls in your home, etc.) I'd get the authorities in on this -- you did a nice thing by helping someone out, but this is CRAZY!!!!
  21. Sorry...thought this was a post about Johnny Depp
  22. My sister lives off 92 and Due West and she said 8-10 cars were slashed yesterday morning (some all 4 tires were slashed!), but that it was only those who were parked on the road, not in driveways. She said her neighbors car BOTH were hit and they couldn't even go into work -- what scumbags!! Hope we catch them before the police do!!!!
  23. True!! I understand she was standing up for an ESEP student that required a special needs para -- and the board was fighting her on it -- I APPLAUD her if she was doing that - paras are so misused, to the point of putting their own jobs on the line without knowing the legal implications...and MOST principals just let them do it...
  24. Driven by Russom three times today -- over 1.5 hour wait each time -- what are they doing??? Seems like they have doubled up some polling stations from the sound of it!! Pisses me off because I really want to vote! Will give it another try in a bit!!
  25. 200 years ago, Taco Bell offered The BellBeefer -- taco meat, cheese and tomato on a hamburger bun -- my favorite!! It's easy to recreate at home, but I still miss the way they make them!!
