One of the tests that they are currently performing is to see if it is safe to actually completely stop the flow. If it is, they can disconnect and run for cover without the spill resuming. Lets pray it holds.

DDS "updated" their database in 2008. The update was a total disaster (this from the mouth of the nice supervisor at the DDS office in downtown ATL that refused to renew my wife's license until she showed proof of citizenship). The result of this is that thousands of people had their DDS info not match the federal database, therefore red flagging them as potential illegals. Presumably, this was only going to effect your DL renewal ability, but it apparently has spread like a virus, causing mismatches elsewhere. The net affect will likely be a bunch of folks having to vote on a provisional

Cop Hailed as Local Hero “The trooper was out with his family when he noticed a man running behind a group of teenagers.” When the trooper stopped his car to check it out, he realized that the man had just been robbed. “So what did he do?” asks Curry, “He chased the teens down and made them hand over the goods.”

Atlantic Beach is like Florida was back in the 70's. Very laid back, very one and two story, not high rises and amusement parks. it may actually be over 4 hours from Ashville.

What about the other statewide offices ?

Magellan is new to this business, and these numbers seem skewed. The latest WSB Insider Advantage Poll ( July 5) showed : Oxendine, 18% Handel, 18% Deal, 12% Johnson, 8% With a whopping 34% undecided. Both polls were before the Palin Endorsement. The new WSB/IA poll will be out soon. As for Smith, He's OK I guess. I wish that the ethics committee had been more effective, and being Sonny's floor leader really isn't a plus in my book. I'm also not really comfortable with an evangelical as Attorney General. JMO -
Appeals court rules FCC's indecency policy unconstitutional
lotstodo replied to adult.'s topic in RECENT TOPICS
The Supreme Court has consistently upheld a community's right to set standards of decency in regards to the free speech question. They have also consistently denied that same power to the Federal Government. This was a good decision. The only better decision that I can think of would be to completely do away with the FCC. They are an expensive bureaucracy in search of a reason to exist. -

If half the Republicans in the state crossed over, I doubt that they could stop Roy. There is no point to crossover voting unless first, the vote will be close, and second, the primary is effectively the election as was the case when Republicans crossed over to nuke that moon bat Cynthia McKinney in favor of her opponent. I find it far more beneficial and likely for the Dems to cross over and vote for Ox, since he is a front runner with a small margin and will be an easy target come November. That is if he makes it to November without being indicted. As for the AG commissioner, I thank you -
It is possible that you checked the wrong breaker. Check the one marked either "Furnace" or 'Air handler". Not the one marked "Air Conditioning". If that doesn't work, PM Guard Dad.

"A family of three generations (a Holocaust survivor, his daughter and his grandchildren) dance to Gloria Gaynor's pop song - 'I Will Survive' at concentration camps and memorials throughout Europe. This dance is a tribute to the tenacity of the human spirit and a celebration of life." Originally posted on wyborcza.pl

RD and Blockbuster are buggy whip companies, and most of the others are victims of their own bureaucracy or lack of foresight. For the most part it is the way a free market economy is supposed to operate. The only ones on the list that are "victims" of the economy had a big hand in creating the malady in the first place. I really hate to see RadioShack go though. Where will you go for a diode or cell phone battery on a Saturday afternoon? Kia was a minor player in the US market and when it was bought by Hyundai it received little support in the way of quality. Hyundai bought them to gain m

There was a similar study done in Canada that studied every dog bite incident for many years back. It came to the very same conclusion. For whatever reason, while Pit Bull Terriers and their cross breeds constituted less than 10% of the animals in the study, they were responsible for over one third of the incidents requiring medical attention, and over half the deaths. That's a very strong statement and a definite correlation between the breed and the severity of the attack. Many homeowner insurers will either refuse to cover some large breeds, or if required by law to do so, charge an exo

What a shame. I hope that this family and this officer seeks help. Alcohol and domestic violence know absolutely no boundaries. We should pray for their future and their recovery, not marvel at the spectacle.

Why does the County and City of Dallas Ignore Presidential Order?
lotstodo replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
In searching Press Releases and proclamations for Governor Perdue, I don't see where he ordered State Flags flown at half staff. A Presidential proclamation carries no legal standing with the states, and they are free to choose whether or not to follow it. The same for cities and counties with a proclamation from the Governor. I will say that if you saw flags at half staff in Cobb, they just lost another young soldier and former Boy Scout to the war in Afghanistan. That may be the reason why they are flying their flags at half staff. -

Why does the County and City of Dallas Ignore Presidential Order?
lotstodo replied to stercus tauri's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I really don't think that the BOC is in charge of raising and lowering the flag. In fact I doubt anybody really is. It's very likely a dropped ball. Have you called the city and the county to ask who is in charge of such things and why they didn't follow protocol? -
Unfortunately print news is a dying breed. It's by definition yesterday's news when you get it. It is to Internet news what the telegraph is to the i-Phone. The AJC has tried to compensate with more and more attack articles of local politicians and businesses, and a severely one sided slant to the news in lieu of real journalism. They are just like CBS 46. Maybe the AJC should co-opt their phrase "We ask the tough questions" when they really mean they act like a bad high school version of Michael Moore. I will miss the simple pleasure of reading a paper over my morning coffee, but I wo

http://www.ethics.ga.gov/Reports/Campaign/Campaign_Name.aspx?NameID=558&FilerID=C2006000219&Type=candidate Make sure that the "registration information" tab is the active tab. Under Candidate Information, sixth line down. Very Interesting, he qualified as a Democrat in Democratic Doraville and Chambodia four years ago, and as a Republican now in Paulding. I wonder why? Maybe somebody should ask him.
