LGE credit union, hands down, Credit unions are highly recommended by Clark Howard. I don't need the local branch very often since I do everything online; including deposits. If I find the need to deposit a check, I mail it!. They lent me money years ago on just my signature; when no one else would; and I wasn't even a customer then. I opened an account; they lent me $3500 and I had it within 3 days. I can't imagine working with anyone else now.

What I don't get is all the comments from friends and family about how well she was doing with the drugs. Baloney! It isn't like she ran down to the seedy part of town and bought her own dope. People very close to her; I am sure some of whom were also making the public comments, were involved in supplying the drugs. Money does buy everything unfortunately; "friends" and family who will assist in your demise.

Strange Addictions TV Show: Does Anyone Watch It?
MissSophie replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I threw up when the lady was drinking her own urine. Most of these people have enablers. If I let my nails grow like that, who would support me??? -
Consequences, consequences, consequences. Two grown daughters. one thing they never doubted for one minutes was consequences. Oldest came to live with me as a woman; called the police on her for disrespecting me in my home. Had some arguments with youngest; but she also knew where i stood. She has never forgotten that call. I am not your best friend. You don't have to love me but in my house you will obey the rules and show me respect. My oldest is now a very lovely friend and youngest also. Told my oldest her kids were welcome to stay with me; but she was not. She had a mon

I watch it sometimes. But I get ticked off. I say take them to Disneyland and send all the crap to the dump. I can't be that patient with someone who lives in filth. My daughter lived across the hall in an apartment bldg. once from a hoarder. The girl could barely get her door open to squeeze inside. She would sometimes change her clothes in the hallway. She finally reached the point where family was afraid for her and she had to be moved out. My daughter said it was so sad. And she would also find her asleep in the hall.

I have some questions about Incorrigible Child laws
MissSophie replied to nschur's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This has been on my mind all day. I consider my home as my "haven". I want it to be a haven for my family. I don't think you can make good decisions while you are living in the middle of the battle. You need a social worker or someone you trust to help. Your are torn with love, anguish, fatigue, protectiveness, guilt, and loyalty. How can you possibly make logical decisions. I would have to agree that a housing facility is a viable answer; especially since you have other children who need their home to be their haven and anchor. Of course you don't love sister more than him; but -

I worked with someone whose grandson had similar problems. Their problems were not nearly as drastic as yours. He has a type of autism. However, even the adults are nervous around him because he threatens everyone with harm. I cannot imagine what I would do. Unfortunately, it sounds like your family and home are not safe. I would start tearing apart the internet for ideas and suggestions and groups. You need help. Prayers for you and family. -
Rough, rough childhood; straight out of a novel except I had a loving mother. 6 kids in our family; an abusive, violent dad. And poor, to boot!! But all of that builds character and determination to do better. God always put people in my life that cared about me; it might have been an aunt; a teacher; a neighbor; or a lady from church. I thank God for all the things he has given me. I thank him each morning for being able to retire 3 months ago. When you don't have much to start with; you appreciate every little thing when you finally get it. And a wonderful day with family.

My past two experiences with dentists were just awful. So i got a great recommendation from here to go to Hiram Family Dentistry; and specifically Ashley Hill. I am just so amazed. The staff is so kind and the Dr. is one of the best! I had a root canal; my first. I can't imagine going anywhere else. I am super impressed. My fear of dentists is gone.

This was many, many years ago; but my daughter chose to ask a young man of a different race to her prom at her school. They received threats. So, Dad and I picked him up in the family car, drove them to a wonderful downtown restaurant within walking distance of the prom. We dropped them off and came home. Many hours later we picked them up and took them to breakfast. I was proud she was willing to uphold the beliefs of our family - "everyone is created equal"; but I wasn't willing to put her (or his) life in danger. Her price to pay was breakfast with mom and dad. They had

If you consider holding classes; they send you a few free books and reading brochures. I wanted to start a class at my office and HR wouldn't allow it. But the Ramsey gang insisted I keep the books they gave me. A truly great organization. I put the books into the lunch room and several folks read it. I hate when ppl give me sad stories; I am a big softie. But, I made some very big sacrifices to get my bills paid off. So I don't GIVE money out. Not even to family. I lived years pulling my tired butt out of bed each morning and trying to be super mom at the same time. I drove ca

Dave Ramsey is excellent. He has books out there if you can't find a class. I never took his class but listened every day on the radio. I took much of his advice and became debt free except for my house. You might also try MUST ministries; they may have some suggestions. I have often offered to help people set up a budget sheet. I have used mine for over 20 years. Set up a budget sheet based on when the bills are due combined with when and how often you are paid. Good luck. It feels so good when you get those debts cleared up!

I apologize if this is a repeat of anything recent. I like to hear other's ideas. I am re-purposing my extracts from my spice shelf. So often you buy them for a recipe and never use the remainder of the bottle. Lemon in my homemade laundry detergent. Mint in my trash can (a few drops). Put a damp, clean wash cloth or dish cloth in the dryer to re-toss clothes that stayed in there and got wrinkled. What are your ideas?

I save a lot more than $2.16 per month!! Fels naptha is $1.19 and makes 3 batches. Washing soda (can't remember the price) is 3 plus pounds in a box and you use 1/2 for each batch. Borax; similar to washing soda. You get 2 gallons of detergent out of each batch. My borax and washing soda will easily last me a year. I will certainly continue!. But to each his own.

Don't forget to set your clocks up an hour

How does time fly by so quickly? At least I am now retired. Boy it feels so good to say that! -
I have been sooooooo hungry for meatloaf!!!

Washing soda is a powder (Arm and Hammer) makes it. It will be in the laundry aisle. I could only find the Fels Naptha at Pubix Homemade Laundry Soap 1/3 bar Fels Naptha ½ cup washing soda (powder) ½ cup borax powder (essential oil if desired; see note below) Funnel and 2 empty gallon plastic jugs (like milk or tea) Grate the soap and put it in a sauce pan. Add 6 cups water and heat it until the soap melts, stirring often. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved (important to stir VERY frequently until dissolved). Allow to cook gently for 5 minutes

I am so pleased I started to do this. It is certainly a money saver. For those of you who have not tried it; you may want to give it a try.

When do Sunday liquor sales start in Paulding?
MissSophie replied to MissSophie's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well thank you for that information. I guess I've been living in a cave the past few months. I wanted some wine last Sunday and didn't know I could have gone out to buy a bottle. I live in Hiram! Thanks again -

I have always said I don't care who people sleep with as long as it isn't children, old people or animals. I, too, find it uncomfortable to watch; but that's my problem; not theirs. Even for those who object for religious reasons. What makes being gay more sinful than lying? prostituting? cheating on your taxes? A sin is a sin is a sin. I have seen so many church members stand in judgement; it makes me sick.

I saw a u tube clip last week of a dog being reunited with his human "mom" after duty. I know it isn't as significant as this, but that dog just cried and cried! I was so great.
