The parking lot was packed Saturday.

Doesn't really mean anything without context. The mom is expected to have residue on her if she was in the path of the bullet. The dad could have easily transferred traces to himself by contact with her.

I swear this happens every year. People moan, bitch and complain just to have something to do I guess. Talk about taking petty stuff and blowing it out of proportion, this is a prime example. It's school supplies, nothing more. If that $25 is your biggest problem then consider yourself lucky.

Its not that much but people complain every year.

Are you for or against the death penalty?

Actuallly it is called the Constitution, it has prohibited cruel and unusual punishment since the early days of this nation which forced our government to distance itself from barbaric punishments common in countries where citizen have little or no rights. -
No kidding....the most powerful man in the world who gains power from a free election comes from a race that only composes 13% of the national population. Those classified as white who have the voting majority by making up about 65% of the population are the same one 'holding them down' I guess.

They did....the accused is always innocent until a jury finds they committed a crime. If the jury does not the accused is entitled to that continued presumption of innocence. Secondly, you are mixing so many terms and standards you are confusing yourself. Of course the 'court of public opinion' and 'court of law' have different standards. Absolutely you have the right to believe what you wish but to critique the words of his attorney who is speaking about the findings in a court of law because they don't match with your 'verdict' is meaningless,

BS....I know how the middle class lived in the 70's and I know how they live today. The standard of living does not compare. The problem is we keep raising the level of what we consider poor which is now so high that all necessities are covered with enough left over for all the latest electronics and cell phones.

There will always be jobs on the bottom of the pay scale, that is the way the job market is and always will be. If the job requires no special skill, education or training and can be easily performed by a teenager who knows no work ethic then there is a good chance it will be minimum wage. It amazes me every time one of these threads pop up that so many people want to make those who are at the bottom "more equal" so their salary is in line with those above them in the job market. Higher salary is earned with skills and responsibility.

I see it has been pointed out already but that even though it isn't an explicit phrase in the Constitution just like many other important phrases are not, it is one of the corner stones of due process that I believe you may be aware is mainly found in the 5th amendment of the BOR. Are you really still arguing that a jury can bring back a finding of innocent or not guilty?

Which is exactly how the criminals were believed to be getting in. It is not secret the crime rate in this gated neighborhood had exploded. But since that person in unknown to a long term resident it is enough to make a reasonable person curious. In your house? No. Behind your neighbors house? Maybe so. In a residential area where you are loitering for no apparent reason? Maybe so. Standing by the back door of a closed business at 2am. Yup. He was trying. However the person he was making the report on fled which is certainly an indicator of guilt. A pers

A jury cannot find someone innocent, they find them 'not guilty' because the accused already has a presumption of innocence. Remember, "presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law"? Don't try to get your legal knowledge from CSI Miami.

A question about charging children with crimes

It is likely she will be charged but it will be under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court. -
Well...he wasn't out patrolling, he was on the way to Target when he made his observation near the gate. Second...there is no standing for a civil right prosecution. Not one Federal civil rights law can be applied to this scenario, this is under the jurisdiction of the state and is settled. Basically, some didn't get the verdict they wanted and are looking for a different way to prosecute him double jeopardy be damned.

You would if your sole intent was keeping eyes on someone you believed was a danger to your neighborhood so LE could actually find them when they arrived. Not everyone is scared of their own shadow.

A unknown person to a long term resident pacing on a sidewalk on a chilly evening in the rain after being seen walking in the yard of a residence he does not live at in a neighborhood with a recent rash of burglaries and thefts is suspicious. He will be immune from a civil suit per FL law. He will now apply for a SYG hearing and will be awarded immunity due to the acquittal at trial which justifies the use of force. The judge must abide by the findings of a trial jury, grand jury or prosecutor decision in their ruling.

It isn't manslaughter, it is vehicular homicide which is a completely different charge with completely different elements. It requires no intent and is simply a death caused by a negligent act with a motor vehicle. The reason it usually ends in probation is because it is punished as a misdemeanor which has a max sentence off 1 year. Very very few people serve time on misdemeanors. The differing POV is Zimmerman broke no laws by watching someone in a public place while summoning LE to the scene. Martin broke contact and fled all the way back to his residence by his girlfri

Especially thugs who are in to burglarizing homes and possessing stolen property. They don't take kindly to snitches. The only good thing is Trayvon leaned a valuable lesson in the last moments of his life, you can't use violence to solve your problems like the current inner city culture promotes. If this response becomes more common maybe the young black male will not be so substantially overstated in the amount of violent crime they commit when compared to their percentage of the population. People fear an armed victim.
-
....or told him good job because in reality the suspicious behavior that was observed was consistent with someone preparing to commit a criminal act. LE responds to calls like that every day and find that an alert witness who promptly reported suspicious activity stopped a crime. He will be immune because FL law gives him that protection. Once a suit is filed they will apply for a SYG hearing where his acquittal at trial will be the basis of the immunity order.

No....it is a misdemeanor.

From reading a few articles on this....it appears the two were together with the kids at her house and they began to argue. She claims he cornered her and threatened to kill her. He says she simply left the room leaving him with the kids alone. She say she retrieved a gun and returned to fire a warning shot to scare him. He says she fired through the wall into the room he and the kids were in out of anger. He fled with the kids and called 9-1-1. She was uninjured and the bullet hole was found to not be in the ceiling as she claimed but into the center of the wall of the room he was in.

Correct.....violating a civil no contact order is up to the judge to hold for contempt and not a crime. A TPO violation can be charged as a misdemeanor for a non violent violation or aggravated stalking for a violent violation.
-
.....and that's the rest of the story. No wonder she was convicted in 12 minutes, here story of the warning shot was disproved by forensics and she is a known aggressor.
-
...and many times their interpretation of the facts they do report are completely off base and misguide the viewer.

Same thing....states just have different titles. Both share the common law definition of it being an intentional assault with a deadly weapon that is likely to cause death or great bodily harm. Negative....GA authorizes deadly force for forcible felonies only.
