  1. It is hard to find numbers broken down that precise. Most of the numbers you will see break it down into the ages of 10-14. The current number works out to about .5 per 1000 which is down from about 1.5 around 20 years ago. Basically the recent numbers show you end up with 1 pregnancy for every 2000 female juveniles under the age of 14, 20 years ago it would be around 3 per every 2000.
  2. Sometimes it depends on the interaction itself.
  3. Rambo Nursery has not closed. The vacant building you can see from 278 is not their office, it sits back off the road at the trailhead.
  4. I was commenting on the fact that many seem to be no longer mailing them out which is putting their customers at risk. GA law says you must have a copy of your card which includes the policy number in the event of a wreck. While the state database does show insurance status it does not list the policy number. On the same note, that card also has other contact information a LEO can use to determine if a vehicle is properly insured if the listing on the state database is disputed.
  5. ....and each one of those companies who do that are causing a violation of GA law for their customers.
  6. Yup....I have given people a break in situations where I believed roadside that they had insurance. In those cases I notified the driver I would follow up with the insurance company during business hours and if there was no insurance they would be charged.
  7. As it should be. The matter should be decided by the DOJ in accordance with our extradition treaties after the formal extradition request is filed. No one needs an unimformed opinion from the President right now.
  8. If you bail them out you can turn into an enabler.
  9. It was not an acquital such as a not guilty verdict by a jury. She was convicted at trial and it was later overturned on a defense appeal, the prosection appealed that ruling and it was also overturned which means a new trial is in order. They will never get her back unless she goes to Europe on vacation. I doubt the US will extradite her.
  10. What? That makes no sense. You can't drive a car without insurance, it is a crime. I thought everyone knew that, apparently not. What the DMV does is separate from any criminal consiquences.
  11. What does you being a Socialist have to do with the size of a pizza?
  12. Sausage, red potatoes, quartered onions, corn on the cobb, shrimp and crab legs.
  13. You have no idea what you are talking about. If a insurance company reports someone for a policy lapse the state suspends the vehicle registration. That does nothing to keep the vehicle off of the roadway and has nothing to do with the criminal charge of driving such vehicle. Uninsured vehicles are a hazard to every other motorist who shares the roadway and it benefits us all whent they are taken off the street. As for the original post, the state database showed no insurance. The driver could not produce a valid insurance card which leads a reasonable person to believe the ca
  14. Not really....gap insurance is needed for the first couple of years on a new vehicle because the value decreases faster than what is owed. The insurance company pays out the curent market value, gap insurance covers the rest. If you don't have gap insurance then it is on you.
  15. I always laugh at theses 'statistics'. Most inner city high crime areas are predominantly black. High crime areas get more attention. LE working in those areas obviously will have more frequent encounters from the predominate race. You could go on and talk about how black males who represent about 6% of the population commit about 50% of violent crimes. But that is another topic. My link
  16. Pretty much....the shocker is it isn't just an unfounded allegation. The suspects them self videoed it.
  17. I sense a 'filing false report' arrest in someones future. He should have saved that $1200 for bond.
  18. How did some come to the conclusion this was some act of self harm? Teenagers have been using drugs since day one and since most attend school it is not uncommon for usage to occur while on campus. Those who use drugs routinely take to much in the chase of their high. It is life.
  19. LOL...yeah right. He better hope his story cannot be disproved or he will end up like the 'runaway bride' when her hoax was proven to be false.
  20. Everyone that is absent today should have to go on Friday.
  21. Two spaces were a necessity when using a typewriter. All characters were monospaced meaning an I took up just as much space on the page as a W. Now that Courier font has faded away with the typewriter you are left with modern fonts that make each character proportional. That means an I and W are their true size. Since that is the case a double space is no longer needed to show sentence separation and actually creates too large of a gap. See the comparison in the above fonts?
  22. Single space is the new standard because as the typewriter fades away so do monospaced characters. Many document programs now convert a double space at the end of a sentence to a single space because the characters are proportional.
  23. Strange the judge is allowing that arugment to be presented to the jury...every state I know of has some sort of an "unable to legally give consent due to intoxication" clause.
