This would create a problem for the shooter in GA if it is the marital home, even more if the two had mutual contact rendering the protective order powerless.
-
All I commented on is that she was convicted of attempted murder which requires a failed intentional attempt to cause death without justification. If they were truly warning shots which did not endanger not attempt to harm another it would not meet the elements of an attempted murder charge and would instead be some form or reckless conduct.

I Like To Make Noise - So Much That People Avoid Me

Another conversation with yourself? -
All that is speculation. The jury heard they facts, the who why what and where. They believed she was attempting to murder him without justification. If you want to know what happened then you need to find court documents instead of the media interpretation.
-
She was convicted of attempted murder. She may claim it was 'warning shots' but the evidence apparently showed she utilized deadly force with an intent to murder and was unsuccessful. Just because you fail does not mean it wasn't a serious crime. She escaped the threat of danger and willingly returned which precludes a self defense claim. Also, without knowing the nature of their contact the protective order may be meaningless. If they reconciled and the contact was mutual they were both in violation of the order.

There is an absolute mountain of stuff out there on this young mans past. He was sent to live with his father because of his persistent troublemaking and expulsion from school due to graffiti and drugs. There are also numerous pictures and social media posts talking about violence, guns, drugs and plenty of other topics that simply show his mindset.

If we learned anything from this case it should be that. After all this time people are still repeating 'facts' they learned from the media which are simply inaccurate. That is why you have so many thinking of Martin as the glowing 13yo in that red Hollister shirt incapable of doing any harm while walking back from the store, because that is what the media portrayed. Posting pics of a large 17yo with tats on his neck, gold teeth, guns, drugs and gang signs didn't project the 'innocent child' image they were looking for so they simply used middle school photos.

There are only three ways to prosecute under the civil rights laws: Act was related to a federally protected activity such as voting, school attendance, jury duties, ect. Act was under the color of law Act was a conspiracy between two or more persons.
-
No...they won't. There are no federal civil rights violations that could apply in this case. It is misinformation.

Lol....17yo's commit violent crimes every day in this nation. Plenty have murdered over the years and teenage males, particularly black males, are one of the most violent segments of our society. However, in this case all the supporters portray him and a cuddly kid incapable of harming anyone instead of the large framed male who was upset at that "creepy ass cracker" bothering him.
-
Maybe there is a lesson here for thugs....don't attack people. Plenty of people have been beaten to death over the years, this case is no different which makes "unarmed" meaningless.

Exactly. Every community has similar services that come at a cost. If no business base exists to help pay the bill then more falls on the residents who are the end consumers. Stuff like this should be common sense.

Walmart Threatens To Pull Out Of D.C. Over 'Living Wage'

...and there are plenty of people who ended up in a low end job who worked hard to better themself so they were more valuable to the workforce so they were qualified for more gainful employment. Some use it as a stepping stone, some stay in the cycle and complain that someone owes them more, especially the big successful corporation. -
Maybe so but certainly make contact with the person knocking even if it is through the closed door. Many daytime burglaries start with a knock to see if anyone is home. You don't want to be in the middle of a home invasion because they thought the property was vacant.

I know you were not replying to me but I must point out why the profit margin is such an important number. In reality the gross profits are pointless without comparing the business expenses associated with obtaining that profit. The profit margin is the amount the company cleared after all the expenses. Lets say uncle Jim opens a body shop and makes $10k his first month. That sounds great until you find out it cost uncle Jim $9650 to make that $10k. Now you can increase the number by adding 0's, while the gross profits rise so do the expenses leaving the same profit margin. The bigger -

LOL...."rape a nation"???? They are a successful retailer that has grown from a small business because they obviously provide what the average consumer is looking for. Through that growth they have created numerous jobs and opportunities for their employees. Since their business is retail which is by definition full of low end jobs and since their success has allowed them to grow to the point that they now employ lots of people in that category they are somehow evil. -

Retail is full of jobs that require no special skill just as fast food is. Jobs that require no special knowledge, expertise or education are always at the bottom of the spectrum. Logically the larger retailers will employee more of these positions, that is common sense and does not indicate anything. Just because it is a large business does not mean the job is worth more or demands a premium. -

Not the way it works.....Wal-Mart will raise prices to cover the added expense meaning the consumers end up paying for a stupid decision by government. Forcing any company, including Wal-Mart, to pay $12.50 for unskilled labor which always is at the very bottom of pay scales is absurd. While I do see the hardship one faces when raising a family on a minimum wage job I understand it is at the bottom of the payscale for a reason. It is still not the employers fault, the worker is always free to take better opportunities elsewhere. -

While the Wal-Mart hate is already running strong, it is a BS move my the local government. Forcing a company to pay $12.50/hr for unskilled labor is over reaching. -
He did it to himself.

.....the escrow only fluctuates to match what is needed to pay the property tax bill and home owners insurance, a fluctuation in either can cause the monthly payment to go up or down. If your escrow has to be increased to cover a higher payment that means you would be paying a higher bill to each of those separately on a conventional. It equals out, both are paying the same thing. One wraps it into one payment and one is going to make you responsible for it outside of the loan. Same amount of money.

Exactly, the only logical explanation is those dogs were sent there to be put down. Why they were sent and who sent them is the issue, the Vet doing the job she was asked to do is a by-product.

National Guard soldiers, airmen to be furloughed
Ugadawgs98 replied to xxrsellars's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Another transitional time for the military right now. They will be downsizing active duty as we continue to shrink our presence in the ME. We will have to trim the size, no question about that. What will start with furloughs will eventually end in the elimination of positions, no way around it. -
Jeez....we get it.
