I try REALLY REALLY hard to dismiss her actions....but it's hard when my kindness has been met with being spit at......or my children have been threatened to their face and yelled at, and my husband and I have been called awful awful names by her.......for no reason at all. I either haven't looked in her direction yet, or I say good morning......Everything I have done around her sets her off. My last straw was her threatening my children.....sick or not....if I see her cart at the Ihop or Walmart, I'll go somewhere else. I'm glad she is feeling better, and she treats some of you so nicely

dporter1183 replied to Sadie612's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I had to set up my dad's email for him and when he went to type it in........I had to explain to him that the "at" in an email address did not mean type the actual word "at", it's a symbal. lol -

My BFFs and I are trying to find cheap theme costumes to wear......I'll keep any eye out on this thread for ideas! -

I like Dr. Orquia and Dr. Whitney Denton at the Wellstar office behind DQ on Dallas Hwy (next to Pigtales and Crewcuts, and Gymberee)I've been going there since I was 19. great bedside mannor. When I was 19, I had Bells Palsy and Dr. Orquia called me a couple times following my initial visit to make sure I was OK. You don't find that too often anymore.

You guys aren't looking at this from your kids view..........Tick or Treating two days in a row. lol

2 years in prison for shooting a dog?
dporter1183 replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
And my thinking is if the dog was barking at him for "yelling" at his owner, he had to have felt they were in danger, right? I wonder if he was irate...... and he sounds irrational. the more I think about it, the more I think he should get more than 2 years. I'm putting myself in that woman's shoes.....having a gun pointed at you is terrifying, I can't imagine having in actually discharged in my direction, my god! He very well could have hit her too. -
I don't have a type. I just like men period. lol Different people can pull off different looks and I think it looks good. I might like a man tall with a muscular build and tattoos, or see a man who isn't "muscular" and no tattoos. I like all hair colors (even salt and pepper) but it depends on how well that particular person can pull it off. I think Blue and green eyes are beautiful....EVERYONE can pull those off. Same with women. I tend to think women who wear WAY TOO MUCH make up make them selves look less beautiful, but there is always the occasional girl who can make it work.

2 years in prison for shooting a dog?
dporter1183 replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think he should get some punishment for sure.....the dog was being held back by it's owner at the time that he shot it. And that last artical said the dog was barking at him because he yelled at his owner.....but 2 years does seem like a little much. -
no matter if this kid was serious in his threat or not....I truly hope he gets the help he needs. A lot of reactions like this one are stemmed from bullying. I think all parents need to talk to their kids about bullying....ALL bullying, not just cyber. It's such a shame.

school (not) on lockdown? but an incident
dporter1183 replied to jet_man1969's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Oh I think it starts even earlier than that! My 4 year old, almost 5 year old doesn't "tease" but he can be mean and I am seeing the beginings of teasing.....He is a very sweet kid, but can be a bit of a follower. He hangs with the "big kids" before school at his daycare and mimics a lot of their behavior. I try very very hard to explain and show sympathy. When he tells me about something that happened between him and another child, or even two or more other children that he observed.....I ALWAYS do the "How do you think that made little Jimmy feel? How would you feel if someone did that t -
I count everything. I count how many steps I'm taking, how many strokes I brush my hair or teeth, in the car I will count how many seconds it takes me to get to my destination (short distances only), etc....I only do it when I'm not in conversation or listening to the radio, when it's totally silent.

haha! great job S! My 14 year old sis is like this......When i was on maternity leave she called me so many times because she over slept and missed the bus (my dad is a single dad and I live down the road) I finally said "NO! you need to learn to get up and get ready on time!" .....I don't know if she really got the message or if she just talked someone else into taking her....but what I do know is....she stopped calling me. lol.

if you are looking for free venues, I beleive Samual Braly Park (New Hope) allows you to use their pic-nic areas for free (first come first serve) There, you could just buy table covers (optional) $2 a piece, and some balloons $5. Depending on how many people you are inviting, pizza from little caesers ($25+), cake and ice cream, paper plates, napkins, cups, ice, forks (you come out cheaper if you buy the solid color stuff that matches your theme, rather than spending more for the plates with the printed decoration. Same for napkins and cups) Making the cake your self would cut some co

Oh no! So so so sad. Poor little guy. I just can't even begin to imagine. Thoughts and prayers being said for this family.

Thank goodness!

My son asked me. I countered his questions with "How do YOU think babies are born?" He thinks the docters pull the baby from the belly button.....We'll just stick with that. his version wasn't graphic, I guess he thinks when it's time for babies to come, the belly button opens up.

right? I couldn't have said it better. it's not about local or non local......it's about having respect of the family and friends that are on this very thread.

I meant that this was a local pair of kids and not a story from another state that we typically debate. People here know these kids and families. E_S's comments were getting too harsh. Starr's mother is on this very thread and some of the things he was saying were too much, especially since she had asked him to stop.

That may be, but posting possible scenarios that are just scaring their friends and families more than they already are isn't helping either. They have the LE involved. that isn't really "doing nothing"
