LMAO. Seriously people need to get involved and learn the facts! Some complain about the lawsuits brought against either the PCAA, IBA, or whatever. Do some research, after several millions being spent over the years only two full time jobs have been created for both ventures, Airport and Movie Studio (which is up for sale). Current asst admin for both has benefits filtered through the Chamber. Not a problem with that, but get involved folks as how your tax money is being spent. You just might get a good laugh

Better yet, get one of the unknown "equipment" purchases at the movie studio. Their website states being equipped, but other than being on the "For Sale", speaks volumes. Maybe the county can share the lifts...........if they actually have them

A Airport and Movie Studio that the Director is paid a very nice salary but has yet to produce any jobs. Think about it, I believe the dollar figures are approaching the $80 million mark the taxpayers are on the hook for, yet no jobs. Do the math!

Exactly. If folks got informed as who "IS" running it, might be amazed the IBA and PCAA have some very same faces. IMO, if they couldn't make it in general aviation over the years, why put more money in it? Possibly get some one that is knowledgeable in running an airport?? Seriously, you have a person in charge of the airport and movie studio, and neither has been profitable, but a complete drain on the taxpayers. I think just even the studio is up to $6 million plus. Complete failures!

OH, I agree. No doubt it's a nice facility, which has cost just a few million to the taxpayers. Um, if it has not been profitable as a general aviation airport NOT creating any jobs, why do you think a commercial will work?

But as far as your comments concerning the BOC mtgs being taped and aired unedited. Surrounding counties air their mtgs live, as well as other places. What is the problem? All public bodies should keep full and accurate minutes of meetings and keep a general account of closed session meetings, so that a person not in attendance would have a reasonable understanding of what happened.

Is it a rambler or two story house? As I get older, I am against ongoing maintenance, and have had two different types of gutter guard. My opinion, get rid of the gutters and pour some type of pea gravel or such where the water runs off the roof to prevent erosion around the foundation of the house. Granted, I do not know your situation but make sure the water run off is flowing away from the house.

On the airshow sponsor package page they guaranteed at least 30k attendees. I'd say attendance would be one measure of success.

OK, from what I saw and heard. It was not a huge success. Quite a failure, no where near the anticipated numbers expected. Please correct me if I am wrong, but far off from HUGE. Correct me if I am wrong

Sorry for the loss of your Father, my Father passed away in Jan 2013. I just can't take in a "huge" success? I've seen pictures of nearly every parking lot for the air show with vacant buses standing by for transport. How can you, yourself, claim it to be a HUGE success??? It was a complete failure IMO from what was promoted. How can your yourself claim your friends came to visit................the parking lots were about empty. Just respond, what happened to the 30k attendance?

From what I have seen on FB, the air show was a bust. Not many people as the 30k anticipated. Very sad for the taxpayers as they will have to absorb the financial loss. .

Don't get too excited about NC being lower. Moved here over five years ago. Granted insurance and tag fees are cheaper than Georgia, but keep in mind the State Tax per gallon on gas is one of the highest in the country.

Why surprised? Ted Turner got screwed when he thought the merger years ago with Time was a great thing. I am amazed his son and snl had shares (not really). I could be wrong, but didn't Ted transfer the whole lot to Time back then? I know he was pissed, but on the other hand know of a couple of folks that worked for TBS, and then other branches, made off like bandits with stock options. They are living comfortably.
