Granted I am not against it, but the op and another stated in another county, that is not near their dept. if the patrol car is parked in PC. It's a perk as mentioned, but I doubt they could make it in a timely manner directly to a scene in a timely fashion. Aside from the law enforcement, ever wonder how many Paulding County issued vehicles some get to drive? They are unmarked vehicles, but what a perk!

What type of shed? If it has any type of MEP, get it permitted. If just a rubbermaid shed, don't worry

Pubby I think you and your jabber has hit bottom regarding this site. I do not visit this site much, but I can say when I was really active years ago it was a fun place to visit. Now, you yourself discriminate against some of your loyal members that participate keeping this forum alive. Disgusted!!!!!

Can we please get correct information about the airport?
rockster replied to tundra's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Calm down. Let's meet out at the airport and take that $500,000 piece of aviation apparatus the BOC approved the purchase of with SPLOST funds for a joy ride. My understanding it's out there on the airport property somewhere collecting dust bunnies. Wonder if the thing would even start up. Who is responsible to maintain it? Talk about cart b4 the horse. Ya see IMO, the county should not have used SPLOST $$ to purchase that. Bottom line, the Airport if and/or when has the funds should've have been.................after you have a home for it and trained personnel to operate it. Guess I woul -

I still cannot absorb the connection with the airport to the housing industry bust? Nor, when in a recession the County is applauding a purchase of property to build and issue $4 million bonds when people are losing their jobs and struggling to put food on the table -

What plans? Been around long enough to know it was developed for the private playground. I know a couple of folks that keep their planes elsewhere. Heck, I could be wrong, but I think I've read a couple of folks on either the IBA, AA, COC keep their personal aircraft housed outside of PC. Speaks volumes! -

OK. Let's flip the idea. Take your degree, I'll give you free money to build a structure that will not cost the taxpayers a dime, but may need "some support" from the general fund budget. Keep in mind the FAA "might" reimburse some of these cost, but unknown, but WTH we'll spend it anyway in types of bonds/loans from our propertytaxpayer holders. Oh, and we need to put on county payroll a couple of folks with full benefits. Now the venture has been a complete financial drain on the taxpayers since investing more then $60 plus million into the infrastructure of a ghost town (unused facility), b -

Gary, WTF are you smoking? Business School 101..................have a PLAN! Business Plan well executed for either investors or just maybe, just maybe, local folks can. OK...............soo your saying over the course of the years, of say eight. I agree can't tag the entire cost, BUT, why continue with expansion costs? What is your thought on a $65 million dollar taxpayer funded venture that only employs less than 3 folks? -

OK, let's spin this another way. How many FULL TIME, and for chits and giggles,PART TIME employment has the airport had since ground breaking well over 10 years ago created? Keep in mind, I am asking for how many employees the airport has on payroll and NOT anything to do with construction or such. I am asking, how many full time employees at a cost of ?????? -

I can still see both sides of the fence here (pfft), but just can't absorb some things. I like facts, numbers to evaluate how a business plans to operate just not on a start up but future forecast. -with the GA airport that was voted down twice by the taxpayers, the then BOC admin decided to build it because it was free money and having his puppet manage it (with NO prior knowledge of managing an airport). How has that worked out, how many jobs has it produced, how much county money has been spent to date? Too damn much just under the thinking it would work just as a GA. Granted folks will -

LOL. Yeah, but on the flip side the airport/movie studio/and local authorities bailing topics just might keep this site above water from sinking -

The appearance of the article is botched. I can only assume the jobs, income, and spending is just due to a few construction projects on the airport site. It's all construction costs with contracting employment out. Can anyone claim that the airport has ever, under the county payroll, ever employed more than three people? I know it would be a task as to who actually could provide the info since it's a cluster maze to find the info. Really, IBA, BOC, PCAA..............who knows? -
Well, give me a B+ at least on my grammar

allegedly intimidate someone...... You should make that plural. My understanding it happened more then once!!!!!

Great post!! Sad the community is divided due to things like this, BUT you do have to give credit to the folks getting involved in the community. I have to give a shout out to those folks that have facts, willing to participate at the podium on BOC, AA, IBA mtgs, and have done their homework and have facts to support what they speak about.

Who is leaving next ? All these county department managers...
rockster replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Might want to narrow it down to who is still on payroll. Aren't there a couple of Dept head positions vacant? -
Oh don't be confused, Just stay informed on what is going on in the community.
-
Same here, but I wouldn't be surprised. Seriously, in 2014 a few department heads resigned. Speaks volumes to me

Damn man, answer my question. Where you alluded the State pressured the County into this venture. Quite simple, just share a link. Your original post seemed that everyone should remember.......................
-
OK, let me ask again. Where are your sources the State pressured the County? Big diff being sold an idea or being pressured. Please also educate yourself on the film industry. Majority is union, such as carpentry, millwork, etc. They aren't day laborers. So unless your "key parts of the labor force" was union when this brain fart and promise of thousands of jobs were union, SOL.

Pubby, Pls let your resources be known as for your words the state pressured??? "I appreciate the difficulties but I think you need to remember that there was pressure from the state to make good on the bid for an increased share of the movie industry as evidenced by the very attractive state tax breaks given those who produce product in that industry" The movie industry is mainly privately held. Although the production companies do follow the states that have very attractive film incentives, I can't absorb your statement that the state put pressure on Paulding County Govt to financ
