  1. why am i not surprised? wonder if "have you ever been arrested or convicted of a crime" is on the application....guess it will be now if it wasnt before...good lord.
  2. agreed...we need another dragway..i live in new hope and kinda miss the sat night noise to be honest...we didnt GO a lot but i did when i was younger and loved it!!! Dont care for round track. Good idea and yes, it WOULD make the county more money.
  3. i was gonna make a flower "bed" out of HR's crib last year but chose to use the sides as trellises for my roses instead....id love to have that dang twin iron frame though for my room...this futon is gonna be the death of me!
  4. I just got back from HOT..and that was 78 to 80 upon sunrise with 70% humidity....i just opened the front door to let the fat cat in and said, "crap! I gotta wear a jacket" cause i thought it was gonna be like the caribbean again today...sigh. I KNOW majority rules!! lol...my hubby is wearing tanks and shorts in the evenings already and here i sit in my yogas and a sweatshirt and eating everything in sight cause its supposed to "warm ya up when ya eat" (doesnt work by the way...i get chills after i eat)
  5. as my hubby puts it with regard to tattoos and piercings in general when someone is showing off their latest "work" First he says "hmmmmmm" then "yeah, you betcha....Im ALL FOR self mutilation" I have both and he doesnt approve...just accepts.
  6. Hubby is addicted even though i swore off any more seasons....i created that monster. Dont hate it as much as a lot of folks but just sick of music shows taking up half the week every week. Our dvr is over half full of stuff we are three weeks behind on.....i didnt even know Chase got stabbed on house!!! (must have been packing for our trip that week) Neither of us wanted that Jun boy to make it thru even though he sings very well...hes just plain goofy and weird and whines too much ALREADY. Love the Voice though....the commentary and fussing between the judges is the best part.
  7. All the girls are going kontry anymore and the guys are just kinda all over the place....i liked the last chick best and the first one on guys night but he wont make it....mine never do cause its all about texting over and over which is not my thing at 10pm. The ones who dont win tend to become the most famous over the next 2 years anyhows.
  8. she axed me and i agreed with you...it takes both of those to represent MOST WOMEN though..lol
  9. Skyline...they are some really good folks and i get to watch them work and be afraid of my dog at least yearly..lol. AT LEAST but my house is over 30 and the idiots put the field lines going UPHILL FIRST and then back down the slope towards the garden. Plus the 60 trees being dropped all across them and bobcat dragging them over the place to load up to be pulped didnt help...crushed what there was of decent lines. We cant ever afford the 4000 to replace so just have to keep having pumped. If we have a super rainy season its more often but hubby likes to blame my "bile" versus their actual
  10. okay i have one request of all the "snow wishers"....can yall get this over with while im gone and have it all melted and gone before the 19th please????? I REALLY REALLY dont want to be stuck in yucky miami for extra days cause Atlanta has shut down their airports....not a good thing, plus a room down there in a crappy hotel is well over a hundred bucks and we cant afford any sudden extra expenses either. lol
  11. i was figuring the child was sickly and they were at walmart after medications and she decided to get some other things...first thing i said to hubby was the same thing though.."why was this child even there that time of morning?" lol....and well said lgm...i thought it was great the kid just didnt scream and then get a hand shoved over her face to muffle it. I would like to think SOMEONE in the Bremen area would have intervened or at least stopped him to make sure things were actually okay if he had her muffled and running out with her. There are some pretty good old ombres out there and i
  12. wayyyyyy back in the day (and i mean the 70's when i was a kid...not even when my own were small) My nanny and mother would go shop at Kroger every week and my aunt who was four yrs older than men could have free roam of the whole little strip mall. We had Woolworths, and JCPenney outlet, and Cloth World with lots of craft stuff. Was perfectly safe back then and they only allowed this when we were old enough to kick the crap out of someone (12ish) Never do I recall even allowing mine any further than ONE AISLE in the small grocery stores. They would look at magazines of course and i would
  13. yall enjoy it if it actually comes this way....I HATE THE STUFF..nasty, cold, messes up the house when ya go in and out which is why they have those little rooms in the back door up north to take your boots and stuff off first..lol. Usually when they predict it days in advance it doesnt happen, but on the 18th I will be in Cozumel where the weather forecast as of today is lows in the mid 60's and highs in the mid 80s!! woo hoo!! bring out the tank tops and the coppertone!
  14. Somehow i knew this post was gonna get really nasty before it was over with...always does. Its all good folks...."live and let live? or like the song "live and let die" (which technically is more accurate cause that is the big finale of life anyhow. I got nuttin cept a rather cute quote from St Elmo's Fire. Let me add ive been married for 25 years now and we are just perfectly fine and about to set sail tommorow for our 9 day gift for accomplishing that feat..but we still agree with this quote. (Andrew McCarthy) "Love is an illusion, created by lawyer types, such as yourself. In order t
  15. awesome...i recently found the four different modems we confiscated from our son over the years in a box under our bed...reminds me of all the times i would call home from work (dial up days) and get a dang busy signal when we had call waiting....LIKE I WOULDNT KNOW HE HAD ALREADY MANAGED TO ACQUIRE ANOTHER MODEM AND WAS ON MY PERSONAL PC looking at lord knows what all back then. Does no good to "take things away" as punishment on a temporary basis...and i think the three strikes your out rule should apply in parenting as well...sounded like Miss Hannah was not a newbie to Facebook Rants so t
  16. I realize this is an older post but i just now saw it...I ALWAYS get Susan Sarandan...even with the dreads i have now. Put a pretty scarf on my head like she wore in Thelma and Louise....i DO see it but its not like STRIKING or anything.
  17. used to work there as the snack bar supervisor and i always enjoyed those special olympics and special needs visits. Most of the younger group of employees would be all grouchy and not want to help but the owners and their family members and most of the front end were always having a blast and helping each kid as they needed and out there doing the "one on one" instructions. Its a well done time designed for those who need that little extra help to feel they can do things they normally wouldnt try the courage to get up and do it! Once the snack bar slowed i would also get out there at the l
  18. i agree...when i think of some of the most beautiful people ive ever seen over the past fifty years on television or movies i always end up leaning towards the "pastey" gals. Dorothy from the wizard was georgeous...greta garbo, etc. Even now Anne Hathaway is about as pale as a vampire but she is adorable. I'd like to see the cast of baywatch in another twenty years and see how their skin is fairing and how bad their wrinkles are. I wear spf makeup and sunscreen for all outdoor activities and im pretty dang pale. I get a little bit "healthy looking" and color in my chicks but thatll work fo
  19. I had my little candles all ready to go last night in honor of the two murdered victims and set my phone alarm to 650 so i could light them and let them burn down....then i just happened to tape the 5pm news AND WATCH IT at the same time so i could hear what this guy's sister had to say...there was supposed to be an interview with her as well as updates and they announced it was cancelled...not delayed, canceled. I dont understand...They have had years to years to go thru all the legal crap and they always wait till the last minute in hopes of gaining some more time alive I guess. I also don
  20. fave movies with him in them are "Hope Floats" and one other one where he was a really horrible looking convict....i had to really squint to tell it was actually him but no mistaking that voice.
  21. My son is an IT and i sure wish he would get a group of clientel to work with like yall. He does excellent work and comes upstairs and just goes click click click and whatever i did is fixed! (course i get the rolled eyes when he leaves the room but he has good enough manners to not do that to others..lol. Mom is an idiot apparantly.)
  22. ditto...get learners and just practice....I had no idea they even had courses but i guess since they have regular driving schools that makes sense. My husband hadnt ridden anything but neighbors dirt bikes wayyyyyyyyy back in the day. Bought a motorcycle on a whim and got his learners and just drove round till he was comfortable and went to cartersville and took his test. No big deal. (hes still not thrilled about passengers which im not happy about cause i love to ride, but fortunately i have a harley buddy who takes me out from time to time)
  23. be thankful you didnt....it would have stuck with you forever...i bet your hubby has seen some injuries he wishes he hadnt in his line of work. Steven had one injury while working in Philly I was glad i only saw about two weeks after it happened..lol...grossss!!!
  24. I make my own detergent but i also add half a gallon of regular store bought tide with bleach to the 3 gallons of detergent when i make it. I also use Mrs. Stewarts bluing agent in the white loads. Both DH and I wear "wife beaters" every day and they kept getting greyier and greyier (apparantly thats not a real word..oh well) SO i asked the kiddo what to do since she gave me the homemade detergent recipe and it works better than bleach plus doesnt "eat" your undies. The reason I started making it is both cost and because my septic guys said its easier on my system, which is over 30 years ol
  25. mu curiosity bit me in the arsh one time with a box that was on bobo for about two weeks....couldnt figure out why it hadnt blown away and was concerned it might take off and fly up to hit someone's windshield. WIth my luck it would be the car heading towards me so i decided to stop and toss it in the back of my truck and take it home to throw on the burn pile. BAD IDEA....Good sized dead black lab. Hasnt stopped me from getting things out of the road that may cause some sort of accident but im not nearly as curious as i used to be about them thats for certain. Does make ya go "hmmmm" whe
