Yeah, I'm with NC and Bwitchy - I've been single my entire life and I've always had to take care of my own crap. I have NEVER locked my keys in my car. Not to say it won't happen today, but the point is, it's not a habit, because I know that the only person who's going to take care of me is me. What would she do if you (God forbid) died?

IF you were doing nothing but climbing the corporate ladder and never doing anything with him, I could see being out of balance. But nothing you've ever said makes me think that, and I personally don't think he's gonna be irreparably harmed by your missing an activity here and there. No problems with FF here. I just don't like Google and their intrusive, ChiCom-supporting ways, so I don't use Chrome. No doubt it's a good browser, though...they make good stuff.

We decided to go at the last minute, and it was SO NICE!!! We parked at the bank across the street and the only discordant note was the lady (I used that word loosely) parked near us who cussed at her young children the entire time. (Using at least three words my 4yo nephew knows are bad words, and his eyes were really big every time she'd let loose. We just tell him in situations like this that some people say those words, but nice people don't - at least in public and especially around little kids). I'd be ashamed, I really would. Well, crap - what night is trick-or-treating? The 31st is on Monday this year. But surely everybody isn't going to trick-or-treat on a school night? Or on Sunday for the same reason? Megadittos here. Somehow, I'm not surprised that you are having to wait. It goes along with the rest of this horrible story. Truly, I hope those responsible never get another peaceful night's sleep again. I couldn't live with myself. But then, I have a conscience. :sigh:

Without knowing more, I say this one. And chalk it up to a lesson learned, or three. One being that this person has some growing-up to do; another being that perhaps this person isn't really as good a friend as you had originally thought. (BTDT, believe me.)

This is it in a nutshell. Good manners is nothing more than being considerate to others, always seeking their best and looking for ways to make them feel at ease. Both sides could use a lesson, sounds like.

My SIL feels the same way about my parents as you do about your in-laws...that is FANTASTIC. I agree with you - her email was uncalled for. While she may have had valid points about the girl's behavior, she totally destroyed any hope she ever had of a) convincing said girl of changing her behavior, and 2) having a relationship with said girl. I tend to agree if the girl is that backwoods stupid, there's no help.

OHHHHHHHHHHH!!! My kinda woman! Every trip, I swear I'm going to do better, and unpack immediately and wash/clean everything immediately. Never happens. But I will swear all over again anew when I go on my next trip that I'm not going to do that this time. :sigh:
