A quote from my wife's contract: "It is agreed that the salary shall be subject to an adjustment on a pro rata basis for the number of days the employee does not work during the scheduled days of duty due to late employment, temporary relief from duty by board action...."
Per this statement, it appears that the board can vote to relieve every teacher for 3 days. There is other language in the contract that basically says the school system can do whatever they want too. Since there is no union, the contract is always written in the favor of the school system.
