Good point. We never had insurance on my wife when she was younger and not working. Once she went to work and we began relying on her income, she got coverage. My goal with life insurance is to replace the income that will be lost in the event that one of us dies. There is money in our emergency fund to pay for burial.

Several years back I compared the cost of mortgage insurance for a set value versus the cost of a term life policy for the same amount. It turned out that I could buy twice as much life insurance for what the mortgage insurance would cost. Not sure if the math works every time but it is something to check out.

I finally had enough with our old heating and cooling system. The AC would not keep the house cool in the summer months. I called Airstar (pcom CM) and set up a time to replace the system. They arrived on time and worked quickly to install the new system. After I had written the check, they discovered that a return duct was a little small for the new system and promptly replaced it. I would have never known the difference. These folks are at the top of my list for integrity. My house is actually cool now for the first time in the 10 years that we have lived here. The Cirrus holds 3 passengers. 3 round trip biz class tickets on AT are 2061.60 including junk fees. Airtran has 11 flights per day and I could easily find one to fit my schedule. I just do not know that many corporate people that routinely travel on single engine 6 cylinder airplanes. In my last corporate position the company actually had a policy against traveling on single engine aircraft.

I just price the ATL- Orlando route on AirTran. You can fly business class roundtrip for less than $700. I have traveled alot for business in the past. I'll take the comfort of Biz class on AT any day over flying in this cracker box.
