  1. Of course, this angers me... at 42 my breast cancer was detected by a mammogram. If not for that test, I wouldn't be here to write this SO - don't listen to it. We see women under 50 in here regularly and their cancer detection was primarily mammography. I just don't understand why the step backward... it's hard enough to remind women to get their yearly screening - get your mammograms ladies, and do your self-checks monthly - save your life!
  2. Ok Birthday Girl... this handle is pretty substantial too. We have a demo here at the store folks can handle. I wouldn't want to get smacked over the head with it...
  3. The HandyBar at Action PAK'D/PAK Medical Wanted to post a popular item in our store, The HandyBar. It's a handle that fits into your door lock, and serves as a helper to move in or out of your vehicle. One end can break a window, and a razor blade can cut a seat belt. The HandyBar makes a great gift... priced at $34.95, normally $39.95
  4. I know this office pretty well... they refer to us and I'm also a patient. My physician is Dr. Iatrides, and I really like him. I hear good things from the patients we serve, and would recommend them based on our experience. There are many good physicians around the area - but my experience has been positive.

  8. Change is always a challenge... I do like this format. It's more "current", and has many nice features. It's just going to take some time to work out the bugs, like most software upgrades. Just give it a little time, folks.. and keep reporting bugs so they can be fixed.
  9. Hey Pubby, I really like it - not having any problems yet, that I know of - on a Mac with FF 3.0.1 - nice work!

  20. Racegirl, you've had some good advice on this thread - I'm just now online. The health dept. can help you, and there are some other avenues as well. You definitely need to check it out - statistically, 80% of breast lumps are benign. But if you're in the 20% that aren't - early detection will save your life. I'll be happy to help you any way I can, and also have a tie to the American Cancer Society which has a wealth of resources. If you can, give me a call tomorrow at the shop - 770-222-6678. We'll figure it out! Anita
  21. Congratulations Lady!!! I see a Tata onesie in that child's future...
  22. Usually, a baseline is done at 35 - then annually starting at 40... sometimes a doctor will recommend earlier if there's a strong family history. Mine was found at 42 - however, you can start your self-checks anytime.
  23. Next Monday, the 12th, will be our monthly Look Good, Feel Better workshop for women dealing with the effects of chemotherapy and/or radiation. This 2-hour "mini-spa" program features a great make-up session - complete with a big bag of free make-up - and some tips for headgear... wigs, turbans, etc. The session is conducted by a licensed cosmetologist, and we have a great time. If you're not in the Hiram area, just call and sign up for a workshop near your location. The number to call is 1-800-395-5665, and you must sign up so we'll know how many supplies to provide. You're also welcome to ca
