  1. It's hot even in air conditioning.. makes me want to wear my hotflash pj's all day long
  2. So glad you like them - I'm putting a set back for ya!
  3. Actually, we do have bedsheets... and they are heaven -
  4. Yes, this is the nightwear to keep you cool - they're made from a "wicking" material, similar to Cool Max, highly absorbent and fast-drying which is the mechanism that cools you off. The duster has been popular, because it provides a little more coverage to keep you from chilling after you sweat out. This line is very pretty, and we usually see repeat customers for the different pieces.
  5. Nightwear that keeps you cool... Wildbleu Duster, Tank and Boxers in Caribbean Colors Set is normally priced at $100, On Sale Now for $49.95! Just placed another order - if you're interested, pm me with your size... this set has been selling out as soon as it arrives!
  6. Hey Zoo, give yourself some credit here girl! Patterns mean nothing until talented hands take over - plus as we know, sometimes patterns aren't even written right. You do beautiful work, and I'm delighted to have your work in the store...

  9. Thanks you guys, for your comments and phone calls... I'm really remembering her husband tonight - they were joined at the hip, and have been together a long time. We plan to sell some tees tomorrow and make some donations for the cause - Head down 61 tomorrow if you have a chance. There's some great energy with this event!
  10. Tomorrow is the annual Bikers For Boobs cycle ride - it begins at the Harley Davidson store on Thornton Road at 11:00, and ends in Carrollton at the VFW on 61. Bikers for Boobs is an event to raise money for the Atlanta 2-Day Breast Cancer Walk, Bikers Battling Breast Cancer and other organizations, and has exploded in popularity over the last 3 years. Kiss FM will be there this year, as well as many corporate sponsors. This year the participants are asked to attach a bra to their bike for the ride. These bras will be donated to the Breast Cancer Survivors Network and donated to women in need.

As Zoo knows - learning crochet, but very intimidated by Zoo who has crocheted some gorgeous items for the shop (posting pix next week). Am currently dabbling in polymer clay - burned my first beads but now have a new oven... do some rubber stamping, sew - but mostly bra alterations at this point... love my Cricut and have turned out some vinyl creations... folks ask me when I find time and I explain I consider most of my work "therapy"...

    Smoking

When I went thru chemo, I met far more smokers battling lung cancer than breast cancer patients... it was sobering. It just makes me more angry at the greedy tobacco companies who purposely upped the addictive nature of the cigarettes. But also brings to mind the fast food companies who up the sugar contents - and we're a nation also fighting diabetes in epidemic proportions. It's all about the money...
  15. Working at the store till 3 - then going to a friend's new restaurant for dinner....
  16. I'm happy to hear the great outcome - you just never know with strokes. I went thru one with my Dad... now the healing process begins -
  17. I believe you have a firefighter in the making... hmmmm.....
  18. He looks so angelic... twinkle, twinkle little star comes to mind. What a doll...
  19. Definitely count me and the hub in - I'll be glad to pay for my ticket... going to a great cause - if you are a survivor, how do you account for the free entries with limited space? Just don't want anyone turned away -
  20. Had fun today with Paulding Cty businesses... ate a great lunch at Corner Cafe - new business, reminded me of a place I used to eat growing up. Then bounced over to Brooke's Salvage and bought some sheets for $20 (and some dark chocolate $1 - Dove's) - great deals... Then stopped by Judy B's to introduce myself and thank them for sending some business to us - adorable store... then back to meet Zoo and check out her newest crochet items for our spa section - gorgeous, pix later... and I waved at Caped Crusader's flamingos on the way back. Just reminds me that we have some great businesses here
  21. Wow, your parents and mine are the exact opposites... my grandmother would say "Honey, you know I love you, but you need to eat at least a third pork chop or you'll blow away" - hence the weight problem I have dealt with for a lifetime. Not that it's my grandmother's fault, but I associate every emotional event in the world with eating. So no, I'm not comfortable right now, but I am happy to be here...
  22. Ed & Kipton got the roses tonight - I think the finale is next week...
