I've got a Condo - 3 bedroom 3 bathroom - right on the beach at Long Beach Resort. A lady just called Sunday to cancel due to her husband needing open heart surgery. So the week of July 3 through the 10th is open. The 4th of July is fun down there. You can watch the fireworks at several places or just stay at the condo and watch them from the balcony. We watched the fireworks over New Years Eve from the balcony and watched the ones at Pineapple Willy's, Pier Park and we could see the ones in Destin - all at the same time. Check us out. http://www.vrbo.com/284668

I was surprised that they showed a picture of the ring. I guess they are looking for additional information (size, caret weight, etc) that only the owner 'should' know. The problem is, one of the persons who might have already contacted them might be the rightful owner and just never knew the specifics about the ring due to it being a gift, being old (either the ring, owner or both), or whatever. I know my wife would have a problem giving specifics about many of her rings.

There appears to be one sheet left on the roll. If one sheet is enough for Sheryl Crow, it ought to be good enough for you.

If a Census worker does come to your house, make sure you ask them to show their creditials before you let down your guard or ask them to come in. I'm just waiting for the press to pick up on stories of evil people wearing Census t-shirts trying to gain access to people's homes. They may case your place or attack you if you're home. Be on guard when anyone, Census worker or not, comes to your door.

Oh, I forgot. Not everyone knows about the tunnels. We do need to keep that out of the limelight until they're completed.

Just remember kiddos.... Never accept Chocolates from your Proctologist.

I think the owner's of the tresure Ship said they weren't interested in rebuilding. I guess they'll take the insurance money and whatever they can get for the place. But someone ought to come in and rebuild it. It doesn't look like it was burned out that bad. One good thing I saw this weekend was a meeting of businesses, restaurants, etc in the area getting together and trying to put together a plan to get those 150 or so workers employed doing something. If everyone pitches in hopefully they can absorb those numbers.

And to think that some of those people are gonna wonder why they can get a real job some day...

I figured they were working on the tunnels. There were some doors that were stuck and were needing to be blasted to get them open so some of the rain water could drain.

I'm glad you're listening to spin and not thinking for yourself. Of course, you probably never met a tax you didn't like.

It's all a 'monthly payment' mentality. It's no different when people go to buy a car. They don't care about how much they might be spending in the long run. It's all about how much is it going to cost me each month. Even car salesmen are geared in that mode. I just another new car last month and the guy tried to go through the same 'monthly payment' deal with me. He wasn't really sure how to deal based on the overall cost of the car.

When our income doesn't support our own "wish lists" then we have to revise our desires and try to live within our means. Until our county officials can be better stewards of OUR money and learn to live within their(our) means, I'm voting NO on SPLOST. I'm not voting to give them any more money to mismanage.

Nothing different. We don't celebrate communist holidays.

It might be cheaper to buy a new washing machine that uses MUCH LESS water than redoing you septic field. We've been in our house for 16 years. Our washing machine output goes into the septic. We've never had ours pumped nor have we had any problems with ours.

Please folks, when you turn 50 - get a PHYSICAL! I was never sick, never had a broken bone, never had a stitch, never had an operation, never been in the hospital, never any problems health-wise. But when I did go in for my physical the doctor thought something was abnormal about my EKG. Long story short, I ended up having open heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm and defective aortic value. Had I not gone to the doctor for this routine visit I wouldn't be here today. You just never know.... until you go.

Yeah, you've got about 7 yards to be poured and finished. Good thing is that it would only take one truck to do that. You're probably talking $2000-2500 depending on how hungry the people are that you high to do it. I just had my driveway dug up and repoured this past November. I was surprised at the amount of difference from one company to the next even though the quantity was estimated the same by each one making a quote.

We found another place that I like better than either of those two places - it's called Captain Jack's Family Buffet on Thomas Drive. They've got seafood, king crab legs, etc. and it's all you can eat. And the food quality is actually really good.

Just a couple of weeks ago we were trying to decide between the Treasure Ship and Captain Andersons for dinner. We ended up at Captain Andersons. I kind of wish now that we'd had gone to the Treasure Ship... one last time. I guess they could rebuild - just take time. They're also coming along with Wonder Works across from Ripley's. You wouldn't believe how many people look at that construction and say 'that doesn't look straight' or 'do you really think they know what they're building?'

Yeah, they could put an indoor archery range at the new courthouse. To save space they could put the target in the middle of the room and have everyone stand around it and shoot toward the target. They could start by letting some of our elected officials try it out.

Yeah. A friend of mine said that she heard of a woman who made a bath for her hard working husband when he got home. She used 2 bottles of Meat Tenderizer. <Insert your own joke here> Of course, she had also just found out that he was running around with other women.

Homeowners insurance claims...average per year?
Georgia Dawg replied to LaurBar's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We've been in our current house for 16 years and have not filed a claim. In the house before this one, we were there for 6 years and never filed a claim there. Not only is it the amount of the claim, it's the frequency. They only look at how long it's been since your last claim. If I had a renter in one of my properties that had been there for many years but had 3 big problems that I had to fix in the last 3 years then it would be time for them to go. -
everyone please think when you get behind the wheel

It's just as much against the law to exceed the posted speed limit as it is going so slow that you are dangerous or impede the normal and reasonable flow of traffic. Either can get you awarded with a citation. -
I guess it would depend on whether you want to actually be able to use the area after it's covered. There will be bees and bugs and flowers and leaves that will stain everything. My parents had one and they hated every minute of it. When my dad found a snake crawling around the top of it over the swing, that was the end of all of the vines. He covered his pergola with polycarbonate panels so it not only provided shade, it provided shelter from the rain, helps protect the furniture and swing and allowed a place to cook out even in the rain or a hot sweltering day. It also protected the pergola

As much as I hate the idea, people will vote YES to return every stinking Congressional incumbent back to office and probably put Obama back in there for another 4 years. People can talk a good story, but when it comes down to it they are afraid to make decisions for themselves and afraid of the threats of the gov'ment telling them what they are going to do to them if they don't get their way. It's simply economics, people think the only way to raise revenue is to raise or continue taxes. History has proven when you lower taxes the revenue stream can actually increase. Remember, if yo

Yeah, prettty bad for them to characterize those fine folks from Tennessee as being a bunch of Bible-thumping rednecks, but their second choice to find the right people for the part was to look to Georgia. Getting the incentives in Georgia just put icing on the cake. I can hear them now "Those stupid people in Georgia are not only going to let us shoot the film for almost nothing, but they don't see anything wrong with us protraying them as a nuch of backward idiots." I wish they had decided to make some substantial changes in doing a remake, like instead of it being based on a bunch of b
