  1. The wife and I watched that episode, I thought it was kinda funny near the end when the crew scrambled to get in the aircraft when the jeep full of badguys show up, and the captain nails the throttles wide open, I then think what happened to the stairway that was directly in front of the jet engines, as there were no ground crew there to move the stairway.
  2. What about the folks whose property will be taken in order to build the proposed road, or the families that will be forced to hear all of the interstate traffic/tractor trailers every hour of the day/night?
  3. And I'm sure that everyone in Yorkville will agree with that.
  4. Thats okay I prefer the mud right here on the property I PAID FOR. On the other hand if you want more neighbors, living in a concrete jungle, and prefer to live in a crime infested hood. then please, please move to Atlanta. I hear there are shootings, stabbings, and home invasions pretty much every day tof the week there.
  5. Didn't know there was a garden section down that way, must be the irrigation from the hooch.
  6. Dabbs Bridge is such a pain, I'll be glad when it finally gets 4 laned.
  7. Yep we just had a pretty hard rain. And we were driving with both hands on the wheel correct?
  8. Twenty years ago while obtaining a CDL, we were taught that you should be able to see the bottom of the rear tires of the car stopped in front of you, for the same reasons you mentioned.
  9. JM, I recently read that Boeing just closed a deal on 50 trip 7-s, for the Emirates airlines in the middle east. That would be great news to hear for anyone working for Boeing.
  10. They must be bored or something. edited to add I've often thought the gore lines that separate the thru traffic lane onto the turning lane were always rather abrupt or sharp, compared to a vehicle that is moving down the road. I feel that the lines should have a more gradual curve to them. I mean I certainly would not want to steer my vehicle as hard as the lines are painted, and I certainly would not want to get ticketed for "touching" a little paint.
  11. I so want to be there, however I don't think my 7-n-8 year olds would sit still/ be quiet enough for it to happen. Please let us know how it goes.

    ROAD

Fair enough I understand the highlighted above, however "correct me if I'm wrong" isn't this project being advertised as private entity funds, and not state funds proposed for the construction? If that be the case would the private co. be held to the same laws? PS: How can a value be placed on a families sentimental value of their beloved property/homeplace?

    ROAD

If you think the Govt. will give you more than its worth, regardless of what you owe, then you are the silly one. As for me the blue line will be less than a mile from my house, and I will "worry" be very concerned, the proposed road may be dead for now but that doesn't mean it will not be revived again in the future.

    ROAD

Sounds like a great piece of land with Historical value, however I doubt that you would ever get what it truly is worth from any of the previously mentioned govt. entities. It sounds like it would be a horrible family/historical loss of property just to mow all the trees down and pave it over.

    ROAD

Just out of curiosity, is your property/home in a location that will be directly affected by the proposed road?

    ROAD

I'm still curious where J.J.'s 52 acres are located, sounds like a great place to build a nice estate.

    ROAD

Where is the acreage and what are you asking per acre?

    ROAD

So it's all about your bottom line eh?
  19. That's the one, you could think of it as the Cartersville/Emerson bypass for the trucks that used to have to go through downtown Cartersville. I guess those folks in Bartow had a pretty good idea to take two existing routes and connect them for direct access to 61. Relieves them of the trucks, and leaves Paulding to deal with the trucks driving through downtown Dallas.
  20. Turn right onto old Alabama @ the Cartersville airport, then it will take you straight to 75 via the new road @ the Red Top exit.
  21. SP you must have been out of the loop for to long, warehousing jobs as most that involve loading docks, are not "well paying" jobs as most of them will be filled by workers that barely speak english as a second language.
  22. For anyone interested in what a close to a highway industrial area looks like, just take a short drive down Fulton Industrial, and see if that is what you wolud like to have here in Paulding. PS. DO NOT GO THERE AT NIGHT ALONE for your on safety.
