I agree with your assesment 100%, I've often felt that the constant playing with electronic games handheld/tv screen/pc monitor, can cause the child to be nervous as those games are very stressful. Back in the day WAAAAAAYYYYY back when we were growing up, before the technologies of today we were outside playing barefooted until we were called in for dinner. Now of course we had our stick and ball sports, which I feel was needed for physical fitness.

Good point, I am still curious then why do we have more diagnosis today than forty years ago. Is it something in the water, or what?

The real question should be how many millions of dollars will be spent by both sides of the suit in legal fees.

Interesting read, thanks for the link. However I am thinking more along the lines of when and where did it become so mainstream to label active children with a disease. If memory serves correct waaaaaayyyyy back when I was in school, there were no discussions about ADD/ADHD. And now it is part of nearly everyday conversations within our school systems. Could it be the that children who are more active than others tend to disrupt classroom activities, therefore something had to be done? Could it be that classroom size having a large student to teacher ratio, and that diagnosis with medicat

Will someone with more background than I, explain exactly where and when did the ADD/ADHD diagnosis begin. I'm curious did the diagnosis begin from children who were unruly in classrooms being examined at the request of the school systems?
