say YES to a Road you are paying NOTHING for
dapandlap replied to Deepgreenlighting's topic in RECENT TOPICS
And those buildings would probably be empty today with NO employees because of the economy we have had since the housing bubble burst. -
The highlighted above is not exclusive to Paulding ya know? It is happening in every state of the USA.
-
NG I'm sure you are OK with having all those planes flying over your house from the Paulding airport, as we know that it is for the greater good of the county to be raking in the enormous amounts of revenue that the airport is generating, and all of the jobs created for all of Paulding residents who work there .... right? Oh that's right the powers that be built it with the attitude of "they will come", and now the powers that be are promising us another pie in the sky "toll road" scheme. The only people who will benefit from the proposed road will be the private entities that own it, and t

say YES to a Road you are paying NOTHING for

We knew upfront before purchasing our property that our commute may be a little longer. We chose to build here to get away from the crowds, noise, and crime. If that is your definition of isolationists then so be it. Again I ask why is this wrong to want to live in a quiet, peaceful area? Sounds to me that the progress at all costs "build it and they will come" crowd wants to live in a metropolitan area, if that be the case then perhaps you should move there. If building a toll road to relieve truck traffic around Atlanta will magically produce jobs, then heck why doesn't every county in -

Then on the other hand there are posts that give me the feeling that anyone who disagrees with the progress at all costs crowd, must be painted in a bad light. What is so wrong with people who want to live in the "country", as opposed to living in an overcrowded, crime infested, "hood"? ETA Build it and they will come right, remind us just how much revenue/jobs has the Paulding airport generated for the citizens of Paulding? What about the reservoir that should have been finished long ago? -
Yep that was a nice-un. Being in the country is why I built our home here, but according to some in the other threads we would all benefit by paving it all.
-
So I'm guessing that I will not see you or anyone else affiliated with Pcom at the meeting to produce a report for the citizens of Paulding.
-
Well of course you were, industrial real estate is far more valuable than residential. I would say it would have benefited your bank account as well.

Simple really, all you have to do is move to a location closer to the interstate. -
Who will enforce the traffic laws, and or reap the benefits of revenues generated from hidden speed traps to entrap those pesky outa-state truck drivers?
-
I'm curious how many of the "yes voters" will have their property taken from them through well below market value pricing, or even worse eminent domain. Remember the value of homes are no where near where they were before the housing bubble burst.

Where will the water come from to support all of the "build it and they will come" industrial businesses? Why not finish the reservoir first?, shall we continue to count on Cobb/Bartow for our water needs? -
Remember a few years back when there was a big fuss over a new "outer perimeter" this is just the western part of that new perimeter around Atlanta. Also someone mentioned that they think that the truckers would rather pay the toll instead of dealing with the Atlanta traffic, I would say the truckers are already being hammered with increasing fuel cost, and would gladly keep their monies in their pockets over paying a new tax to get to point A from point B.

If memory serves correct the old ski slope was on the hill that is now home to the Overlook building complex. Now just exactly what would you consider ole-timey days? Mableton was my old stomping grounds back in the 70's

Just gotta love when a govt. mandate goes awry, can't wait to see what happens with 0bummareidpelosi healthcare mandate. Ya know "we have to pass this thing to see what's in itthe fit hit the shan" -
I have to agree a win is a win, especially against Detroit. Go Birds.

The owner of Advanced cycles is one of my oldest friends, we used to race dirt bikes way back in the 80's.

Sad indeed, prayers going out for the family.

What law abiding citizen isn't against tax evasion? If they are breaking the law, then they belong in jail, if they are acting within the law as they are written .... well you know the answer to that. Sounds like the best answer for America would be RADICAL tax reformation, rather than healthcare takeover, you know where EVERYONE pays federal income tax.
-
Son you are the chief author of confusion no matter what day of the week.
-
Well that just confirms how little you know.
-
That's confusing, as that would be exactly the opposite of increasing taxes on corporations/filthy rich, that the leftist are screaming about the loudest.

The main question would be why this thread along with the other 12 page thread on the same subject, by the same OP, has yet to be moved to the political forum where they belong.
