I found your video entertaining, for sure. I really liked what Patti was talking about at the end when she mentioned the way she was treated by other airports compared to how she's been treated by this airport. I felt for her. Also, I found it interesting that she would take a buy-out, something that was mentioned here numerous times when this airport debate first started. I wish you would have commented on the boos from the audience....that's really, really rude. mrnn -

I can only give this rant one and a half stars. I really, really wanted to give it more, especially being I also chuckled at the "I've got a cock behind me" line, but I just can't. I just feel like this rant lost focus about midway through....the strong language is there, but not used appropriately. The "pussypink bitch panties" just fell kind of short, imo...there had to have been better options he could have gone to before making something up...I would have preferred "asshat"or perhaps even just a simple "panties". The spelling cost this ran atleast 1 star and the citing of the rules -
Tax Question for folks who have/had a child in college

Soooo just as convoluted as I expected This is all fantastic information and is precisely what I was hoping to read. I usually use TurboTax so will definitely stick with it this year....my wife is currently in school full-time so I'm somewhat familiar with the credits and such, just wasn't sure if a child in college could still be counted as a dependent. Sounds like he can. GOOD NEWS! Definitely some student loan paydown coming. Thanks y'all! mrnn -
This is my son's freshman year of college down in Savannah. With tax time coming, I'm just not sure of the best way to handle this, much less what's legal and what isn't. I can do the research but hoping someone here with experience may be able to offer some advice. He worked 2 jobs last year....he MIGHT have made $1000, at the most. I was going to walk him through filing a 1040EZ with the standard deduction. Then I got to thinking, I paid for all his books and have co-signed for his student loans. Is it legal for me to file head of household, include his W-2s in with our income, and

As CC somewhat alluded to, you cannot compare microeconomics with macroeconomics. A debt-free government is like 100% employment, they're bad things. To put it in micro terms, say an 18yo kid works for his dad and brings home $50k/yr. When he goes to get an auto loan, he'll require a cosigner, regardless of his income. Creditworthiness is based upon debt and a history of paying debt. If some imaginary country had been debt-free since its inception 300 years ago and suddenly decided to issue bonds to raise money for some huge infrastructure project, investors wouldn't run to buy up those b

Our dollar would be weakened, significantly, if there were any doubt about the security of our debt. Our debt is not an issue, at all. Do I think we should operate a deficit-free or surplus budget? Absolutely, when the economy can take it. Government spending accounts for a good bit of our economy....certainly enough that the economy feels it when the government pulls back. This isn't just a "U.S" thing either, it's true for economies around the globe. When things are going well in the private sector, economically speaking, the government should pull back spending significantly enough

I'll take a strong dollar over a weak dollar, any day. You don't have a weak dollar unless the economy is in the tank. I think it's more pronounced at this time due to the global economy....many of the big economies in the world went the austerity route (which had many advocates here) and have yet to recover, whereas we took a sort of hybrid approach and have recovered rather well. mrnn

Hell yes I think that....war=bigger budgets.....war=power to military leaders. The people in these positions are military lifers who think that military might is the solution to everything. I think that you'll have a tough time going through history books finding examples where the President wanted war and the military tried to dissuade him. They may be right sometimes, but to just base our foreign policy on what the military thinks would be a huuuuugggeee mistake. mrnn

There's really no right or wrong, here....maybe we do need boots on the ground to try to atleast force them into hiding and take back much of the land they've taken? That doesn't kill ISIS, but it could put a hurting on them, for sure. I'm, personally, just not comfortable with the costs involved, particularly innocent and American blood. I think we need to be careful listening to military leaders when it comes to the subject of war....asking a military commander about using military options is akin to asking an Evangelical if you should turn to Jesus. mrnn

I would argue that spending the last 14 years on a war-footing, losing Iraq and Afghanistan in the process, has weakened our "respect" around the globe more than cutting military spending could have ever done. Enemies know that the American public does not want more war. Enemies learned from Iraq and Afghanistan that we are not equipped to win certain types of wars. Enemies know that we've exhausted much of our Western support due to our previous engagements. Increasing military spending further won't change that. That's one reason it's MUCH better to carry the big stick and threaten to u

I just don't understand the thirst for war, especially from a man like John McCain who experienced the worst aspect of war, other than death, as a POW. If anyone should be looking at boots on the ground as a last resort, it should be him. ISIS is another Taliban....we can't win. We aren't prepared, militarily, for non-traditional guerrilla styled warfare. The Soviets got their asses kicked in Afghanistan. The Americans got their asses kicked in Afghanistan. ISIS is just a more brutal version of the Taliban....they blend in with communities, they fight with no rules, and have a relativ

Climate change. (or as it also called...weather)
kcarlsonlpn replied to cookies are sweet's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Dude, you kill me. You just wrote out a long diatribe about how shifts in the Earth's axis is what's causing climate change. So in one post you say that there's climate change, and then in the next you don't know what we're talking about? mrnn -
Climate change. (or as it also called...weather)
kcarlsonlpn replied to cookies are sweet's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Those are miniscule numbers. I realize that "static" may not have been the correct word, but for all intents and purposes, the axis is certainly static enough that you wouldn't observe drastic climatic shifts due to the wandering axis over the course of several decades. mrnn -

If this were true, our equinoxes and solstices would have changed calendar dates. They haven't, which means that the Earth's axis in relation to the sun has stayed static. mrnn -

And yet poor rural white folks, who get more welfare than any other segment of our society, vote republican. I guess our "handouts" aren't tempting enough. Oh, and those farmers with the giant subsidies? Republican voters. Banks getting bailed out by the taxpayer? Republican voters. Energy companies enjoying huge tax breaks that come out of my pocket? Republican voters. I suppose if you limit your view of welfare and entitlements to the "baby mamas", "thugs", and anyone with a Latino surname, yeah, I can understand your viewpoint. If you actually look at the numbers and dollars, y -

Huh? I was saying the 0.5% are sheeze out of luck....basically that someone can't point to the 0.5% for which Obamacare isn't working and pretend that they're the norm. Basically, the exact opposite of your paragraph above. mrnn -

I am. I had a mechanic buddy of mine tell me that they're getting nothing but foreign models in for service and how Obama is killing the domestic auto industry. I had 373 articles to refute him but, hey, he's my buddy so I just took him at his word. mrnn -

Fair enough...you're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to my facts. The thing is, I can cite another dozen or so articles all saying the same thing. You only know one insurance broker (who, for all we know, could be feeding you a line of bullcheeze because he can't stand Obama, either). mrnn -

Just because 1 person gets screwed, or even a million people, we live in a nation of well over 300,000,000 people and if 0.5% of the population gets screwed while the other 99.5% enjoy improvement, well, we don't cite the 0.5% as proof that something doesn't work. The numbers are irrefutable....medical costs for the VAST majority of Americans have slowed to the lowest rate of increase in 50 years while this country also enjoys its highest percentage of insured Americans in its history. mrnn -

But please understand that 99% of the time that I make a statistical claim, I have an unbiased source to support it. I'm not saying that everything I type is fact, much of it is opinion, but when I refer to numbers I only do so when I have information to back me up ahead of time. mrnn
