  1. Lucky for you, there are countries like the UK, Canada and Japan that have either outlawed or heavily restricted firearms and also collect gun violence statistics! http://www.businessinsider.com/canada-australia-japan-britain-gun-control-2013-1 mrnn
  2. I was fuming about that call. I've obviously seen ineligible receiver downfield called on regular pass plays, which I suppose the punt becomes when it's determined to be a fake, but the lineman wasn't even more than 3 yards downfield! After that call I was starting to believe that former SEC big wig who said the officiating is rigged. mrnn
  3. Great game in all three phases. I'm not sure if Auburn's offense was playing that poorly or if Georgia's D was playing that well?! This really makes the Florida loss just inexcusable....shut down Auburn and Nick Marshall but get beat by some no-name freshman QB and a mediocre rush attack. I guess that's UGA football...we should be used to it. Nick Chubb is going to be a blast to watch the next couple of seasons. He turned it up a notch last night. mrnn
  4. Ditto. Just had a ton of work done by these guys and was very, very satisfied. mrnn
  5. I think it's as much keeping law-abiding patients from becoming addicted as it is keeping known abusers away from the drugs. Doctors have to walk a real tightrope when treating pain, knowing that addiction to pain meds is a real possibility if they aren't careful and closely monitoring their patient. mrnn
  6. Pain, hunger, sadness, happiness, cold, warmth....our bodies and minds undergo unfathomable chemical and physical reactions to aid us. Death is no different. I see your post was from last night but if you're ever in a particularly morbid mood again, google scientific explanations for things people report who have been revived. Fascinating stuff and, depending on your philosophical views and values, could serve as a relief or as a depressing, cold, hard slap in the face. Beautiful piece of music, though. I need to listen to more classical. mrnn
  7. She doesn't know the difference between Shariah and Shia. mrnn
  8. This, folks, is called desperation. This is on par with the lady who cried "PTSD" because of Reservist exercises. mrnn
  9. Georgia did a hell of a job sneaking a different QB into Hutson Mason's jersey...it's the only explanation I can think of to explain why I was suddenly seeing truly great passes thrown beyond 5 yards and even a few on-target darts. Where has this guy been all season? Is it because the pressure of being a potential playoff team is off of him? I don't know....but he actually looked, eh, can't believe I'm saying this....GOOD! Probably too little, too late...but still nice to see. Pretty ho-hum win, really. O looked great in all facets...special teams was fantastic thanks to McKenzie....
  10. You phrased the question about you and I.....and I'm 99% sure you're white. How am I supposed to know you have minority family members? Hell, in the other thread you were getting onto DR for asking questions about your family and in this thread you're acting like I'm an idiot for not knowing about them?! And even if I did know, relevance? mrnn
  11. No offense, but you're being intentionally dense right now. I'm not going to hold your hand and guide a person pretending to be blind. mrnn
  12. It's FAR from just being voter ID. Google this stuff and you may be surprised. You'll read about things like shortened polling hours, shortened early voting, less polling places in minority neighborhoods, less voting machines available in minority/urban areas...hell, they even target college students by putting the nearest polling place miles and miles from the college. Enjoy mrnn We aren't being randomly asked for papers or being incarcerated disproportionately for profit. When you or I vote, we don't have to think about those things unless we want to....they don't impact us. I
  13. By profiling anyone who "looks illegal"....this is why the Hispanics were so pissed off about the law. You have legal Hispanics having to show their papers for no reason other than being Hispanic. mrnn
  14. There's a distinct difference between calling a party racist and calling a party unrepresentative of particular races. I don't believe the GOP is racist...it has plenty of racist voters in its tent, but the party and majority of voters are not. I do believe that, if I were a black dude or an Hispanic, there's no way in hell I could point to the GOP as looking out for my best interests. Examples include voter suppression of minorities (numerous examples of GOP officials admitting to this on tape and in articles), unwillingness to pass immigration reform, egregious legislation (such as in AZ,
  15. Color blind?!?! I guess that explains the voter suppression. mrnn
  16. You guys will handle business tonight, NJ. In 2008 the dems took a whole lot of senate seats that they shouldn't have....now it's reelection time. In 2016, there are 26 GOP seats and only 9 dem seats up for grabs (thanks to the GOP's historical 2010 election)....it's all cyclical. What I don't need to read about is how Uncle Tim Scott is somehow proof that the GOP doesn't try to hold down the black population. mrnn
  17. Who is going to take out Bill Heath one of these years? That guy makes me sick. mrnn
  18. While I'm sure you were laughing at this in your head, you should've used that brainpower to translate your thoughts to English in this post. mrnn
  19. Love reading your UGA posts, Jonger. **I saw a team that, inevitably, showed a let down from losing Gurley. All we've heard, and presumably the players have heard as well, was that this would be a 2 week suspension and he'd be back this week. The Dawgs came out looking deflated. **You and I discussed earlier this season what would happen when UGA went down big and was forced to pass....we saw it this weekend. Mason is not qualified to qb for a competitive SEC team. It's obvious he has no arm but you'd think that a guy who recruiters know has no arm would possess other intangibles
  20. Wait, so the climate can be changed by an external factor like an asteroid or megatons of CO2 from combustion? Crazy how that works I was always led to believe that any and all climate change was just part of the cyclical nature of the Earth's climate. mrnn
  21. Does anyone have any details on the water system they're installing on Old Cartersville Rd? I've read on here that it will provide service to the airport, but what about residential? We're just NW of there off of High Shoals Rd and are stuck with a septic system....trying to figure out if they'll be running sewer out here. I kind of, sort of need to add another drainage line but don't want to waste the money if sewer is coming this way in the next couple of years. mrnn
  22. Good luck, Pip...the options for good food at decent prices are terribly lacking. Briar Patch and Hickory Hut are awful, especially the former. Merle's is a bit better but not great....about on par with the new place in downtown Dallas. Best local BBQ I've found within 20 minutes of my house is Ziegler's in Acworth at Mars Hill and 41. The pork actually tastes properly smoked and rubbed instead of boiled and tossed in ketchup (Briar Patch)..their house sauces are great, too. Chinese we usually go to Imperial Palace at 278 and Business 6. It's nothing to write home about but a dec
