Faces east with tall trees in front. So some direct/semi-direct sunlight in the am and shade (because it's up against the house) in the afternoon. mrnn

So the wife and I are like black-thumbs, I guess....plants come to die in our yard. Anyway, we've got a decent sized bed in front of our house that we've committed to redoing this spring. The wife insists that we need to have a plan rather than just going up to the store and buying whatever looks good (my preferred plan). Is anyone into landscape design or just a green thumb with knowledge that may be able to come take a look and offer some sort of plan? I'd be happy to pay a "consulting fee" for any advice. I'd call a landscape company but really don't want to deal with a consult t

Custody, alimony, asset division....it's all a big farce and, whether he's the party responsible for the divorce or not, the husband always gets the shaft. I've never had to go through this, fortunately, but I've met plenty of friends/acquaintances in my life who were financially ruined by a divorce and have to fight with an ex to get to see their own kids. I know it goes both ways because there are a ton of deadbeat dads walking amongst us, but it makes me sick that a woman can give up on a relationship, go have an affair, and walk away with alimony, half the guy's savings and retireme

Pat and Patti Show Pat and Patti Show #308 -- The "We can dream" episode
kcarlsonlpn replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Another great show....I get fired up every time I watch an episode. Thanks for the opportunity to present an editorial, Pubby. I'd really recommend that anyone with anything to say stop by the PCom office and take advantage of Pubby's offer to air editorials. He's got a very nice set-up and an impressive line-up of bad headwear. mrnn -
We'll likely go if we're in town. Is there a website up for it yet? mrnn

I learned the hard way that you take a big risk buying big ticket items from the "Amazon Approved" sellers. I bought my daughter a TV for her room...I want to say it was like $200 from a private seller on Amazon plus shipping. Received the TV, plugged it in, and the damn thing wouldn't even turn on. Had to return it. Because the item wasn't bought from Amazon, I had to pay return shipping, came to like $60. I ended up paying damn near $100 out of my pocket to get a TV that didn't work. Horrible experience. I'm a HUGE proponent of Amazon but I've learned that it's best to stick with thei

That holiday is kind of an afterthought. ..Coincidence? Signed, mrnn oldest kid in his family Damnit! You beat me with the "not important" joke mrnn

Tickets were expensive for the North Georgia Airshow in Rome last year, too. The thing I liked about that one was they had a BBQ competition tied in with the air show so you got to sample some good food and see some cool sheeze in the sky. We were out of town for the first Paulding air show but I don't recall anything about BBQ or anything. Either way, it's a great time and you typically get great attendance for these sorts of things (aka income for the county). As far as the FB group you speak of, I'm not in it, don't follow it. Same with the anti-group. I just picture a lot of dram

That's your first problem...allowing your emotions to be swayed by some hack of a blogger. As far as the Air Show, they're great fun and I hope it happens here again. As long as I wait in long lines on roadways while county sheriffs direct traffic leaving churches every Sunday afternoon, I will surely support emergency services being used at the airport for something as fun and family oriented as an air show. mrnn

After the way the senate handled the medicinal marijuana deal after it overwhelmingly passed in the house, I'm not holding out hope for this to pass. If it does, that's a pretty damning display of priorities by our senate. mrnn

Ha! You only use like 1/4C but, other than the little "shooters", a pint is the smallest bottle of bourbon you can buy. Yeah, if it were the whole pint it would not only burn down the kitchen but probably taste like crap. mrnn

Amazon customer service is amongst the best I've ever dealt with. Contact them via email, chat, or phone and tell them the situation. They'll take care of you...perhaps even ship you a box. mrnn

There were definitely some shots where houses/yards got in our way. Also, there was a close call when Stradial's buddy decided to exit his cart at the wrong time and felt the breeze from my scalded 5-iron shot brush his ear. I've actually broken a window before....I teed off and just shanked it, badly...exit, stage right....hit this home's window dead-on and shattered it. The owner came out and was explaining to me that the window had been broken a couple times before (uh, plexiglass? a screen?) and, being the good liberal I am, gave her my real name and phone number. That damn window

Stradial is too kind to say it, so I will.....yes, I lost by a stroke (with some really friendly rules). What's the old saying? Something about the tallest midget? Great time though and I think it'd be fun if any of our other PCom golfers want to get together to play a round. ETA: Unless you're really good...in which case, your game will become destroyed watching us introduce you to more bad swing habits than you ever knew existed. mrnn

Stopped by this afternoon....pretty tasty! mrnn -
Barefoot Contessa rocks! If you do happen to try it, and don't have any cognac laying around, just get a little pint of bourbon and it works just as well. mrnn

I'll never eat beef stew again. Why? Because I made this recipe....beef bourguignon....kind of a french version of beef stew. Just unbelievably tasty...plus you get to set some sheeze on fire which makes it all the cooler. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/beef-bourguignon-recipe.html mrnn

We got ours at Home Depot. Fair price though we didn't get installation so can't speak to that side of it. mrnn

We've had a Bosch for 2-3 years now...it replaced a Fridigaire. The Frigidaire was a piece of crap. We love the Bosch. Clean dishes, very quiet, rack organization makes sense, several different cycles...just a quality product. mrnn

HB1: Haleigh's Hope, the medical marijuana bill passed
kcarlsonlpn replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
And you know that comes down to nothing more than legal liability. Doctors give patients treatments and prescriptions daily that are horrible for people, or even poisonous, but because the FDA put a stamp of approval on those things they can support them without fear of reprisal. The fact is that now that the medicinal properties of canniboids are becoming clearer the FDA is going to be forced to take a fresh look at it....but something tells me politics will get in the way, further delaying it's use and, more importantly, the relief for people who would most benefit. mrnn -
HB1: Haleigh's Hope, the medical marijuana bill passed

How can something pass so overwhelmingly (157-2) in the House but have no chance in the Senate? Assuming you actually believe that these guys are supposed to represent the interests of their constituents, are they serving different constituencies? This really makes the Senate look awful. The video below is disturbing but this is the video that turned me from "yeah, it'd be pretty cool to have medical marijuana in GA" to "I cannot believe that this isn't available to help these parents!". http://youtu.be/Ks7Z5WIoj0Q mrnn -
Me and Mr. Mr. Jones (or...who am I?)

Hahahaha! Dude straight said you're going to get sued. That's hilarious if it weren't for the fact a judge would throw that sheeze out before you even hired a lawyer. mrnn -
Me and Mr. Mr. Jones (or...who am I?)
kcarlsonlpn replied to cookies are sweet's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Uh, Stradial is not Todd Pownall. I've never met Todd in my life and, honestly, don't get the impression I'd like the guy. So whomever Toxic is, I dislike Todd apparently as much as you do. With that said, Stradial is surely not Todd and it's ridiculous you'd even accuse him of such a thing. On the other hand, if my read of Stradial is completely wrong and he did call this apparent jackass Mike Jones out on his shenanigans, good for you, Stradial. This asshat obviously needed exposure. mrnn -
