  1. And can someone please help me understand why this causes outrage, but there's noting wrong with gay bars? Business establishments that frown upon straight patrons? Has chikfila been accused of ever refusing to serve a gay person? Employ a gay person? Show me those lawsuits. When did America become a place where we are not all entitled to an opinion? Look, I love the gay, but you're becoming the new blacks. Give it a rest. I'm really sorry that you still can't get married in ga, but we've given you midtown, gay pages, days where you can take over children's amusement parks wearing genitali
  2. I do hope that our gay friends realize how whiny they come across when they throw these tempur tantrums every time someone doesn't agree with their lifestyle. I'm getting increasingly annoyed the attention mongering for a lifestyle that is accepted and often overly accommodated.
  3. We live in Roswell, right next to crabapple. Lovebug, send our love to England. Hubby is about to celebrate his 8th month of seeing sun!
  4. TP and BL carrying on a conversation. Yes, please and thank you. All aboard.....
  5. So, because in your opinion you're not that screwed up - you think that child abuse is that harmful? You and that other dude that talks to himself on pcom give me serious pause as to your mental stability. If I were you, I wouldn't use yourself as an example as a result of the child abuse litmus test. Just saying.
  6. Author of 7 Habits passes... http://www.blogher.com/steven-covey-7-habits-highly-effective-people-author-dead-79 Great books, great author. He helped me a lot in my early career.
  7. Serious mental problems usually begin by excessive manipulation of others and with harm to animals. This woman showed both. Now, we could wait and see and then point fingers at the failure of the system when she drowns the child in a bathtub. America is way better at that.
  8. If this was the 80's, it was LATE 80's, but my money is on the bulk of these pictures being early 90's. Patrick Swayze was in Dirty Dancing in 1987 - so it was definitely the later years. Anyways, it is crazy to see how modest we were back them. It certainly makes me wish I would appreciate it more.
  9. The other message board is doing a drive. If you are in need, or know a local family in need, I'm sure that they will make sure you get a stuffed back pack. Let me know if you need more info.
  10. I appreciate all the help. Did a little digging. I guess I'm going to pass on the whole life and wait on the financial planner to give me some alternatives.
  11. Truthfully, I'm picturing white and bright green super light tennis shoes like all the kids are wearing. Is wifey rocking the Sperry's too?? Regardless, having mom or dad with anything more than veto power in fashion is setting yourself up for failure. She's 12, she can shop for herself.
  12. TEARS. tears. prayers. Miracles happen everyday.
  13. I met with a friend the other day regarding life insurance. Recent life changes have forced me to think about my financial portfolio and I'm currently searching for a financial planner, but I don't want to go into it knowing nothing. I can't seem to figure out the value of whole life. I have life through my company, to which I added supplemental to an amount equivalent to double my mortgage. Whole seems to be a stable investment, but not very high growth. Given that I don't have a ton of money to invest, my gut says to put this into something more risky. My agent says that whole
  14. At 25, they should be together. For sure. They should be in their first job, but college should be over.
  15. Read up on SSRI's. A few things to consider is the time for them to reach full effectiveness, the withdrawal that is possible and the time in between "getting it right". There's also a cost, with good insurance, of anywhere between $10 and $50 per month for a single SSRI rx.
  16. Heteros care way more about being gay than gay people do. They just want to be able to get married, have health insurance and be able to adopt kids. Oh wait, they can in most states. 1983 called...they want their "gay oppression" schtick back.
  17. Depression is more often a chemical disorder, not a mood disorder. There are genetic components, and lifestyle components and a trigger isn't necessary. While I do think medication is most often the most effective way to handle, I do encourage you to try and suggest non-medicinal treatment first, yoga, exercise, meditation. If you can, get her out there volunteering to give her perspective. I also suggest therapy before drugs. Either way, all of those things may not be able to change the simple fact that her brain is not producing enough "happiness" or her receptors aren't receiving t
  18. Have to want to work...and if you choose to live 50-60 miles outside of the metro area, you have to be willing to commute. And that, folks, doesn't take a degree to know!
  19. I'm way more interested in the idiot that pulled over for a guy in a cheap suit and a blue light. Or a the guy who shot his girlfriend - in Mableton (is this even news?). The myriad of Tech Students who are paying in excess of $30K a year to be robbed at gunpoint. While I don't watch the news, I'm all for the feel good when I do. Gives me the smallest glimmer of hope in humanity.
  20. You do realize that if the real deal goes down - the VAST majority of this board, and the population, are going to gladly welcome in Martial law and willingly give up their rights in favor of government 'protection'. You too will get your very own Katrina cancer wagon...and if you don't think that it's nothing more than a cleverly disguised form of population control...it's time to WAKE UP.
  21. There are a few in W Cobb. They have meetings at the Starbucks on the East West. Very knowledgeable group. There's also a few quite large truther groups. I'll dig up the information. You are very wise to worry - we are not out of the danger zone of complete financial collapse. Actually, as long as we have the power structure that we do, we'll never be far away from another manufactured crisis. but, I'll digress and just get you the info that you asked for...
  22. The lending and borrowing of motor vehicles between complete strangers is a BAD idea...at best. But I love the awesomeness of you posting it!
