Is this a respite program? Thanks for the link, I'll look into it. Though, I'm hesitant to help the eastern block for a host of reasons - namely that there are a lot of US children in need.

I don't know if I can deal with the legal system, but I will look into it. I have been speaking with a friend in Florida that fosters infants and she really likes it, though she said that one of the hardest parts is getting used to working with the family of the child. For instance, she has a crack baby that she's had for the last 8 months while her mother goes through rehab and the system. While she's the one that's been up all night with an inconsolable baby, she's still had to help to facilitate the eventual reunion with the baby's mother with visitations, etc. I'm just exploring.

I thought that I posted this thread a long time ago, but I can’t find it. Is anyone on here a foster parent, specifically through “the system”, meaning not fostering a family member’s child? My husband and I are looking into the possibility of becoming foster parents. I’ve left a message with the county already, just wanted some real life stories and resources local to GA.

I look at inviting friends the same way as I do hosting, I expect to foot the bill, but that's just me. My husband always tells me that we're never going to be rich. As said before, my son - generally - has money. We have some close friends where it's more of a "swap" situation. If it's a casual friend, he will always have money.

As mentioned, it's a reference to the orthodox Jewish community. How could she think, for even a second, that type of appearance would be accepted in an Orthojew company? As a women, she's lucky to have been given a job full stop, but then to show up looking like a hooker...would you do that if you worked in the office of a church? She should have been fired for stupidity. -

I wanted to be a cop. For as long as I can remember. For anyone that knows me, you can understand how you couldn't pick a worse career for me. If I had my druthers, I would have been a forensic psychologist. I dropped out of college and went into sales, then into marketing. I don't mind my job, thought some days is daunting to make a quarter of a sales rep when they wouldn't exist if it weren't for my efforts... That said, if I could change TODAY and money wasn't a factor, I'd rent chairs on a beach somewhere...You can tell that, today, my head is in the sand. -
Back in the day, these used to be known as Harliquin novels. My mom still reads them. They used to sound something like, "He grabbed her cheek, pulled her mouth towards his, sweat seeping through is shirt from mowing the grass, and kissed her with an intensity that ravaged her body and literally, weakened her knees." Now they read: "He pulled her by the hair into his bare chest, his man parts throbbing between her soaking legs, and whispered in her ear that he wanted to own her forever. She couldn't help but imagine how much she would enjoy giving him daily pleasure - a welcome break f

Good for you!!! I'll tell you, if you're a COBOL/RPG programmer AND you know Java, I can think of a few places that would pay you well for your skills! All the COBOL programmers are retiring or dying. -

I've now been sucked into What Not to Wear, despite the fact that the MOST ANNOYING woman ever is on it. I want to stab myself in the ear holes. I hate you all. -
For most people like you and I in the middle class, coming up with $5K isn't "hard". Yes, it would require some shuffling, but no big deal...$10K would probably start the hurting and $25K would likely have us taking out loans on our retirement. And I feel EXTREMELY thankful that I have this room because it's a HELL of a lot more than A LOT of teachers, police officers, meter readers, firefighters...all noble professions, but they bulk of them live pay check to pay check. I appreciate that pcom has it's own resident Dave Ramsey, but (and I really learned this one a couple weeks ago), l

What's your DREAM occupation? Did you pursue it? Why or why not? How different is it from what your occupation is today? If you could go to work TODAY as anything you want, would you leave what you're currently doing to do it?

Well, anyone that hasn't figured out that Gloria Allread is the Enquirer of the legal profession deserves her representation. Anyone that really feels slighted or harmed in any way and is due compensation really should seek out a real lawyer and not TMZ. Shiny ones. Like a Hooters girl. Because thats ever going to happen. As for the actual looks. The second one isn't a total woofer, heifer, but she's got a decent looking face - it's just the vanity that makes me think "really?" and the clothes....I really thinks that beauty comes in all sizes, but like anything, the package nee -

Ahhh, I love today's society. First, we had this award winner: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2124782/Samantha-Brick-says-backlash-bile-yesterdays-Daily-Mail-proves-shes-right.html Now, I'll admit this chick is pretty by UK standards, but now we have: This woman, who's jewish, claims that her jewish employers fired her for being too pretty. Which is probably better then them firing her for being too fat - which I would argue first. She's hired Gloria Allred, who apparently has no real legal skills, and she's...suing. For being too pretty. I'm sure she was an am

Picnik is now google, so Picasa is the way to get much of the picknik features. Not all, but most. Oh, and Shutterfly's new photo editing is AWESOME. It's seriously the closest I've seen to Photoshop in that type of website.

This is so indicative of piss poor management. First, this should never be up to the employees to decide - maybe a board, maybe the C level, but managers? No way. Very Pontius Pilate and cowardly move. If I felt passionately for the company and my position, or felt that the impact would be significant to good people, than I would vote for the pay cut - but I would also be aggressively searching for a new job and I'd be hopeful to be elsewhere within 30 days. If I was unhappy - which is more often the case when these types of things are presented - I would vote reduction and hope t

Yeah, it's not cheap. Which is kindof why I want to know if it's any better. Ie, less crowded, cleaner, etc.

Has anyone been to LanierWorld? I've never been to the water park, though I've been to LLI and thought it was lovely. Is it any better than White Water? Sun Valley is definitely closed forever, correct?

He is selling a product, no different than the old guy selling boiled peanuts. If this annoys you - alert the police and they can see if he has a vending license.
