Living in a trailer, with the potential of a lot of medical bills for a sick child, AND having a $1000 wedding gown is NOT sensical!!!

Anyone care to predict the SPLOST vote in Cobb?

That's awesome!! I don't condone DD - but I also think that the laws are pretty effed. My yoga instructor couldn't pass a field sobriety test stone cold sober. Of course, they set the BAC unrealistically low so that a glass of wine at a business dinner makes you legally drunk. Then they use scare tactics, like automatic loss of license for exercising your rights. This case seems pretty black and white. She was drunk, she needs to bend over and most importantly LEARN. I'll tell you - the vast majority of people do learn after their first offense and they do not get another DUI again. Most

There's a reason for that.

They really aren't that complex or confusing. I promise you that what I told you is dead on. The only area that might be off is jail time, and that will never be more than 72 hours for a first offense. A first offense is cookie cutter. I wouldn't pay more than $2K. All I can say is I sincerely hope that you have never, ever, ever had more than one alcoholic beverage and gotten behind the wheel.

It's not worth the cost to get it reduced, unless of course her occupation involves driving a car. Just pass on everything that I said, because attorneys will try and take advantage of those that have never been in trouble. They throw tons of options, alternatives, "possibilities", all while charging $200 an hour. Make sure that the person she goes with agrees to a flat fee if it's settled without a trial.

Why is there no looting in Japan?
dumbestgirlintheworld replied to anthonyr's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The race "truth" you speak of has far more to do with economics. Japan, most Asian countries, do not have the huge gaps in class systems that we have here. There are parts of Japan and China with a very large thug population. -
Did she hurt anyone? If not, she'll get 40 hours community service, mandated driving school, a hefty fine, year's probation and likely will not have to serve (she'll get credit for time served or a suspended sentence). She should also ask for non-reporting probation if she can product her fines and probation fees by the plea date. It's pretty standard for a first offense and she shouldn't pay more than $3000 for her attorney to negotiate this in a pre-trial hearing with the prosecutor. Just go for the attorneys that have DUI plastered in their ads and ask what their first offense outcomes

You'd have to understand that culture. One in which a business deal could happen while being served in a person's house by 3 generations of their family. And... ...electronics don't work after they've been soaked in water. -
Lord have mercy...I didn't know our absence was having such a positive effect. We'll skip the vodka and go straight to jager.

BTW, they have a midget obese guy on Heavy tonight. I'm very intrigued.

I feel more for those that were not taken by Mother Nature. To the question, status? Impact on the world prior to death? Sensationalism of their death?

Right there with you. I wish I could get on a plane and do something. I know that's not the right thing (nor is it possible), but that's how I feel. We are donating to the red cross, and of course, praying. -

How Far Should The Rights Of Children Go When

Wow. Very similar symptoms. My niece has PKU. While there's not an immediate threat to life, I can understand your post. She's a teen now, and of course it's hard for her to go to a party at Chuck E Cheese when she can't eat pizza. Still, her mother has never asked for the salad bar to be available for such functions - she sends money. She also would never consider asking the party to not eat pizza so that she doesn't feel left out. Shrug. I'm still 50/50 down the middle on this one. -

Anyone care to predict the SPLOST vote in Cobb?
dumbestgirlintheworld replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
East Cobb pays more into it. I'm sorry, but the average E Cobber is buying WAY more than the average Austell resident. -
The nicest yard in my ex's subdivision was burnt black. I asked my ex about it and he said that it burns the flashing (I think) underneath and that it comes back beautiful. I googled a bit, but found nothing. Has anyone else heard of this?

I'm in Cobb and will be voting YES on the SPLOST tomorrow. It's completely self serving as it will infuse $2M into my son's baseball field.
