That's classy and so sportsman like. Not Tebow crying is to be applauded as he is one of the BEST out there. Where has Bama been for the past 3 years? I expect that there were a few tears of joy from the Bama players. They won and they played a good game. That is exactly right. If the kid that was doing the beat down was really "defending" himself why didn't he stop after the other child was subbdued? Does the video that we haven't seen show the kid that was beaten throw the first punch? It takes two to fight. Some one is always going to look worse then the winner/loser. I still have a problem with these kids that don't seem to know that going and getting help is a heck of a lot more important then videoing it. Is it good that this was taped? Yes. Would it have made sense for one of the bystanders to go and get a teacher or other adult? Y

Just so you guys know I most certinaly am not one of "those" parents. When ever the teacher would call I would just say OK what did s/he do now? And when they would say well so and so did this I would ask and what did you do to egg it on? I have seen these parents on my son's ball teams and my daughter's teams too. I understand that. I don't think it is outmoded or sexist. I think it is a sweet gesture.

She should not be insulted. It's just that for some (not necessarily everyone) it would be a nice gesture. I guess it all comes down to how you were raised and what every woman knows her family expects. For some the tradition is honored and others not so much. Being a parent of a daughter I would love it if her intended would ask DH for her hand, but I will not expect it.

OK I get the logic of that. But, with that logic maybe the brides parents paying for the wedding and the grooms parents paying for the honey moon should go out the window. Just go get married at the JP and have it over and done with. But if you insist on the "big" wedding pay for it yourself.
