  1. I've kept chickens as pets. Heck I'm in the animal care business, and I eat meat.
  2. I'm not trying to be "contrary" but the Bible does say that man has dominion over the fish of the sea and the animals. A kosher diet does include meat, however it must be prepared a certain way and with certain knives and such. No, God does not want the animals to suffer when we kill them for our meal.By the way we are not herbivores either.
  3. I understand that. But, I had heard nothing but bad things about the ER, and hospital then my husband has a heat attack, we went there and they were great.
  4. I agree. Funny thing about rumors, if you believe them you might be wrong.
  5. My husband puts it in the chipper with the leaves and gets all mixed up real good. Then we put in the flowerbeds. I do spray it with flea killer, cause fleas love that warm moist stuff, and the dogs hate it when I have to apply Advantage.
  6. Well, not stupid, but I think I get what your saying.
  7. So maybe we should put the "r" word in the same category as the "n" word. Just sayin
  8. It's called maturity. I can not understand these people who want to take the other to the cleaners.
  9. Along with trying to lighten things up that was the point of my post. Teens love to pull the you hate me and only want to control me card. Then comes the dreaded "I hate you" statement. To which I reply "good I'm doing my job." Now if this is an "adult" relationship then there are more issues to be presented. First if the OP is telling her SO how/what to do it could have more to do with respect from both parties. Not enough info has been presented. May she will come in with a hypothetical situation so that we may be able to "help" better.
  10. Have you been talking to teenagers again????
  11. Wasn't normal about 6-8 mos ago. Wonder why? Pubby might want to look into that.
  12. :clapping: +5 I know how ya feel. Some people just suck. Specially when they only believe rumors, and make their judgments on only what they "hear." We were able to handle our own little ADD child with behavior and diet. Like I said before when he was in high school he tried meds for a while and didn't like the way they made him feel so he stopped taking them. Now at 30 he has his own way of dealing with the ADD. Once you figure out the best treatment for your child (because one treatment does not fit all) you can relax and enjoy them. But, you already know this.
  13. You started off being a bit sarcastic and funny, but now your just being picayune. You obviously don't have the first clue about the subject, and have nothing useful to add. Please spit your ignorance elsewhere.
  14. No AC here. Didn't use it at all last summer, probley won't this summer. I'm from WPB so the heat doesn't bother me much.
  15. How bout leashes and collars? I seem to have amassed a collection some how. One way to reduce the stray population is require that any pet sold (applies to pet stores) be neutered. Require all pets to be neutered before adoption from all shelters. I know the money issue will come into play for the shelters. However it will not be an issue for the pet stores, after all they overcharge any way and they encourage puppy mills. Just an idea, give me some time to think of a way for the shelter neutering issue.
  16. I know I didn't drink when I was pregnant. I was 16 at the time. When I was going through all the testing and questionnaires for my son, I recognized my self in them. I also showed them to my ex who said "damn that's describes me." Genetic? I think so. FAS I don't think so. All of the kids I have met that have ADD or ADHD are highly intelligent. Their brain certainly works on a higher level then the rest of us. As far as meds go it's always the first thing some teachers and doctors want you to try. I won't do that. In my own experiences, I found that diet and structure worked for my son. J

  18. I understand and agree to a point. However the first thing that I was told with my son is we could medicate him. I had already researched ADD before going to the doctor and I was the one who stated we would not medicate. Now keep in mind this child is now 30, so this is quite a few years ago. He had a very structured environment. We were also fairly strict with him. He is one of those that does very well in a structured environment. We didn't spank him, because all I would have to do is tell him how disappointed I was depending on what the infraction was. Funny thing, I was telling him how pro
  19. It is both. However it is WAY OVER diagnosed. Personally I have a problem with this whole medication thing. That seems to be the answer for everything. Before someone gets on my case, yes, I do know what I'm talking about. My oldest is ADD. The school wanted us to medicate him (boys are more likely to be diagnosed with ADD or ADHD.) The doctors also wanted us to medicate. I refused and did not medicate him. We changed his diet, he had a very structured schedule and he was outside playing to get rid of the extra energy. When it was time for his homework he had X amount of time to do e
  20. Well stuffed and mounted is better then teaching it to do tricks for profit.
