  1. I buy it every year for my kids and put it in their stockings. You're right, it is good candy but I only buy it at Christmas. I guess that makes it a bit more special.
  2. Very beautiful bird, actually they all are lovely to look at, thanks for sharing.
  3. I say a lot of that stuff, but my brother says something that cracks me up...his voice mail recording goes something like this..."this is (insert name here) I can't talk right now just take 'n leave a message n I'll call ya back Take and leave a message? What exactly is it that he wants one to do, take a message or leave a message? LOL
  4. Last year I was shocked when I went to Mrs. Wlikes boarding house for lunch, they only accept cash or checks NO credit or debit. We have a rule in our house though, if we don't have the cash to go out to eat then we eat at home. Now I am not bashing the OP, because I have had to use my credit card in a restaurant before in a pinch we just try not to do that if possible.
  5. Sam's has the Canon Rebel for about $800, comes with two lenses, carry bag and some other stuff. I think it's the Rebel XTi. I want an espresso machine. My BIL has this really fancy $700 one and it makes great latte's, but Target has one by Mr Coffee for $80 and it has gotten some good reviews. I think that's what I want. The one other little diddy that I wanted we got last Friday, our little Boston terrier puppy. He's so sweet.
  6. We can't lock the door or shut it at night, the dogs sleep in our room and would have us up ALL night wanting to go in and out.
  7. One of my neighbors dryer caught fire just this past Saturday evening and it was due to the lint build up. Fortunately, she was home when it happened and she was able to get the fire out before PCFD got there. While you are at it, go ahead and clean your refrigerator coils too, under the stove, the hvac vents and anywhere that dust can build up. Those things may or may not cause a fire, but it can certainly reduce the efficiency and life of your appliances if not tended to periodically. BTW, thanks for the heads up and reminder as to how unsafe dryer lint can be, not everyone knows, I didn't u
  8. He had been sick with cancer for several months. He always loved the holidays because he really enjoyed cooking. Hubby is making his Dad's family famous dressing for the occasion in his honor and of course with DH and his brother together on the first holiday after it will be good for them both.
  9. DH and I made the green beans, collard greens and turnips today. We also made our dressing, it just has to be baked, squash is done since it tastes best the next day. Eggs are boiled for deviled eggs and I made a pecan pie, a pumpkin pie and a cake is about to go in the oven. Tomorrow we will smoke the turkey, make the homemade mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, homemade creamed corn and dinner rolls. Oh yeah and we have a Honey Baked ham. We are having family come here for the first time in along time and are very excited, we usually do Thanksgiving for the four of us. My DH's dad
  10. Sorry to hear you had a bad day. Usually you are very upbeat and happy go lucky in your posts. For me personally, I just go to bed, get a good nights rest and look forward to a new day. Everything changes from day to day, they will never be the same and there is no reason to even think so. We meet and talk to someone different everyday, something different on the tv, radio and so on. Look forward to what today may bring you and put the past to rest, you can only make a difference in the present and the future. There is always something good for every bad, maybe it was a sweet good morning kis
  11. My DD asked for a new bike, a pink beach cruiser and an Ipod Nano. Got them already and I will get her a couple DS games and some clothes. My DS wants a Jackson Randy Rhodes guitar the Matt Tuck signature one, something like that... it ain't happening, not for nearly $1000.00. So I will probably give him some money towards it. He has asked for a GPS and a new stereo for his car...might go that route. I have to agree with some of the posters, we have bought family gifts in the past and we really enjoy them, as do our friends. We bought a ping pong table a couple years ago and we have friend
  12. I got married when I was 17 and he was 20. We have been married for 20 years this past June. We dated for 8 months.
  13. We are making one and will just put it on our smoker.
  14. Thanks for the post NG, I need to get my turkey. Honeysuckle turkeys are great and I will just have to mosey on over to Wallyworld to pick one up.
  15. We are staying home and cooking the usual. My BIL, his wife and son will be coming here from Daytona. We are very excited to have them since no one ever comes here to visit, we always have to go to them. DH is going to smoke a turkey this year and we will get a Honey Baked ham and make all the fixin's. Then on Friday the BIL and his family will head up to the mountains for some play time before going home on Sunday. I plan to go Black Friday shopping with a friend. This coming Friday, my friend and I are heading to Savannah for the weekend, to work but hopefully squeeze in a little play time.
  16. No nude sleeping at my house, we have kids. They would simply die if they walked in and saw that!!
  17. We didn't cook, DD is not feeling well so it's soup and sandwich night for us. On the bright side, DD is finally willing to eat chicken noodle soup. She is soooo picky.
  18. If there is a creek in the area, then that needs to be searched more thoroughly especially along the bank. He could have fallen, maybe something related to the diabetes, but the search certainly needs to be expanded. I hope he is found soon and is okay. Honestly, my hope is he left and just does not want to found right now. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family and to those on the search and rescue teams.
  19. I was told in 96 or 97 that I had it. The Dr made me a splint to sleep in, it was made out of cast material and covered the back of my leg and down the back and bottom of my foot, it was held in place with an Ace bandage. That helped some at first. Then we tried the cortisone pills, no good. Finally, I got the cortisone shot and that took care of it. Now I make sure to wear very good shoes and I also use insoles. The inserts the Dr gave me were a gel material and only went under the heel, those helped but wore out after awhile. The ones I have now came from Sports Authority and are hard full s
  20. The truck was moving, the driver was about to park in a parking space.
  21. Hi I'm Raclay, I'm 37 years old and I too am afraid of the dark and will never let my feet hang over the edge of the bed. I am a chocoholic and have been known to eat an entire can of chocolate frosting to satisfy my craving (not in one sitting though).

LOL That's one way to deal with the rowdy bunch!!!
  23. Welcome home soldier. Thank for your service. You along with ALL of your comrades have made this country, this state, this town, your family and myself proud. We are still the land the of free and the home of the brave. Words really just can not express the gratitude I have for our armed forces. Happy Veteran's Day!!!!!
  24. I love winter. DH on the other hand, not so much since he has to work out in it sometimes. I will say my hands don't care for it, they get so dry and crack and bleed...reminds me, I need to stock up on the Aquaphor.
  25. I'm not sure what you mean. This has nothing to do with race or gender. Aimee Michael's caused an accident and fled the scene, had the car repaired and tried to get away with a crime.
