  1. No, not a pressure cooker. You would use a canning pot and those are sold at Walmart and places like that. The last time I was in there, I think they still had some, but even those items are seasonal and they just leave on the shelf what they have left from one season until the new shipment comes in the next year. I don't have a canning pot so I just use a large stock pot, well really large. The difference is I don't have the wire rack that sits on the bottom, so I just have to watch to make sure my jars do not crack and I don't overload it. I use all the other equipment though, canning tongs,
  2. Pickles are really easy to make. I have made several batches in the past, but would never sell them since my DH and his friends eat them so quickly. If you have 2 or 3 hours of time to spend, the packaged seasoning for dill pickles and bread and butter pickles are available in the stores. Follow the directions exactly and you will come out with a very good product. It is fairly late in the year to get some pickling cucumbers, but you might get lucky. Last year I bought a huge basket of cukes and pickled them all using prepared seasonings and homemade recipes. I love making them, but I don't ea
  3. Thank you for sharing. That is a really nice story.
  4. My mother died when I was two and my dad worked shift work so I went to live with my grandmother. She was very old school, born in 1899. She switched me with one I had to go pick off the crab apple tree. It hurt like crazy, especially on my bare legs, but when she switched me it was because I did something I was not supposed to to so and I did it knowing full well the consequences, even at the young age of 4 and 5 years old. We lived in the Savannah area and behind her house was a very large canal that was known to have snakes in or around it, usually Cottonmouth. When she would catch me going
  5. Well then it would seem that Romney thinks ahead.
  6. I will keep an eye out since I am a Comcast customer. On another note, has anyone ever received a phone call from their utility company thanking you for your most recent payment. They also let me know that my next reading will be on such and such date then said thank you and have a good day.
  7. Those are great pictures! It looks like you all had a wonderful vacation. I love the one of your GS at sunset and the one with the moon in it. AWESOME.
  8. Thoughts and prayers coming her way and yours. Hoping she will have a full and speedy recovery.
  9. Small world, nice to meet you neighbor!!!
  10. Um, I don't know. Do you live in a S/D named after cities in England?
  11. Dang, I'm sorry. Want me to bring you a big bucket of beach sand to stick your toes into?
  12. HWM, we are staying in the shores. My BIL lives on Broad St. and my MIL in Port Orange. Lowrider, we've been during Biketober fest, that is very cool. Some nice bikes. The Turkey Rod Run is neat too.
  13. I hope you are enjoying PCB, I have never been there. The weather has been great this whole trip, hopefully it has for you too. I took this pic this morning with my camera, not my phone.
  14. Oh no worries, I visit Ponce Inlet every year. We have been coming here since 1990, DH brought me here for our honeymoon. He is from DB and all of his family lives here. In fact, he, our kids and my BIL are out deep sea fishing right now. So I went out to the beach to get pictures. For years I was able to climb the lighthouse and then suddenly my fear of heights got REALLY bad and I couldn't do it, made me so mad. On Monday, I did it. It felt so good to win out over my fears.
  15. I'm so glad somebody asked, I didn't know either. However, I rarely go to that side of Paulding.
  16. This is what my food looked like that I got the one time we went. Sorry, I can't remember what it was called on the menu, but it's a chicken kabob.
  17. That score has improved to an 86 B dated July 16 2012. Do really think the health inspector would leave them open if their score remained at 39?
  18. Bay Leaf? Yes, I have eaten there and it was REALLY good. We were there not long after they opened.
  19. The sign at Ridge Rd and 92 turning right says STOP to pedestrians in crosswalk. You don't have to stop but you do have to yield.
  20. Meet 'em at the door in your Birthday suit, word will get around which house to go to.
  21. I watched about two minutes of that show and those people are embarrassing to watch.
  22. I've met Subby, he repaired DH's chainsaw. I've seen LGM and I saw Lowrider and her grandson in Walmart a couple of weeks ago.
  23. My DH and DS went, they always enjoy the race. Hubby's ears are still ringing a bit because he wouldn't wear his headphones, the same ones he bought two days before. They have a portable grill and tailgate after the race so the traffic has time to clear out.
