I keep a pack of baby wipes and hand sanitizer in my truck all the time.

Yep, it's pretty sick behavior. My husband will go out of way to move a turtle out the road, actually we both do it. It has never made sense for me as to why some people will hit them on purpose. It's a pathetic excuse to claim the bad side of human nature, but what else can it be? DH used to have gopher tortoises in his backyard growing up in Florida. He adores them to this day. I'm not crazy about turtles or any reptile for that matter, but I would NEVER intentionally harm or kill one. Several years ago I found an alligator snapping turtle on a road in Hiram and got out to move it out the ro

Really? Just wondering how you know this and why we never hear about things like this. Interesting. I never buy appliances from Walmart,.Oh I take that back, I bought my Keurig there, hopefully it will last, it cost as much there as everywhere else. I have never heard of product obsolescence, that too is very interesting and makes perfect sense. I have four vacuum cleaners, they all work , but I love my Kirby the most, even over the Dyson. The only thing I wish Kirby would do is put on board attachments on their machines, then all would be absolutely perfect and one vac would suffice.

IMO, why would anyone WANT to park up front? That is where all the super lazy people leave their carts, park stupid and bang your car with their doors. I always park a good ways out and often near the buggy rack. In my many years, I have realized that if you are near a rack, most will put the cart back rather than leave them wherever. I do not require the use of a handicapped spot, fortunately. Hopefully it will be many years if I ever need one. Besides, I can certainly use the extra walking anyway. Let me say based on my first statement, I'm not calling disabled people lazy, just those pe

Wow, this is all so interesting. About 46 years ago my FIL and his first wife gave up their son for adoption, very soon after their marriage was annulled. He remarried raised a step-son as his own and had a son with his wife, my MIL. My FIL is now deceased and I have only a bit of information about the son he gave up. My DH doesn't want to talk about it, but I know he would be open if I ever did find anything out about his half brother, 22 years of marriage, I know he would. Anyway, I haven't had much luck in finding any information. No one seems to remember anything about the adoptive parent

Me too, I want to know her reaction to it.

That is wonderful and I wish you all the very best as you embark on this new chapter in your lives.

Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Oh wow!! You guys did a wonderful job on those. The kids are going to be thrilled! It makes me wish my DD was still young enough to have one.

If memory serves me right, I believe she stated on here some time ago that she rehomed her goats since they kept getting out and wandering around Nebo Rd. Maybe someone can verify this.

Yep, fix the avatar!!

Thoughts and prayers for you.

Well crap, she was my DD's first grade teacher. This was in 2006, she seemed like a nice person. Dang, you can just never tell about people. The following year she was a Pre-K teacher at that school and I want to say she worked with the disabled children.

That's cute. I thought you were a USPS driver.

She may have simply been a gun collector. I know people who collect them and most guns are designed to kill, not just humans. Please help me here, I'm not understanding your point.

Smart TVs With Web Browser: How Well Do They Work?
raclay replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We also have one. Honestly, IMO it's a waste of money. If we had Netflix or something like that we might use it, but right now we don't. We bought it for the 3D capability and we don't use that either... go figure. -
Are you looking for a certain breed? If not, then what characteristics are you looking for in a dog other than it being a small dog? Short or long hair/fur, male or female? Is the dog intended to be for you or for a child or a whole family pet?

Sending prayers your way.

Yeah, that didn't make a whole lot of sense to me either, but the Liberty Mutual Rep said it would need to have a tenant. I think we are going to move on from LM anyway. Sorry I said the wrong company, it's Liberty Mutual.

We can't use USAA since we are not military. I've been getting quotes from various ones, Nationwide is close to what are paying now, but the car ins.is $110 less per moth with the same coverage. So it is actually a better deal. BUT, we have only been with Geico since September 2011 and I don't know if switching will affect my credit rating. I've been trying to find out if flip flopping like that will affect it. I want to try to keep everything together and eventually get the rental property with the same company as well. Since it is "technically" empty right now, no one will create a policy fo

My point about lowering the coverage to a more reasonable rate is because it will NOT cost 178K to rebuild this house, yet Allstate seems to think it will. So far the other companies I have checked with average 160-166K which is more believable, but still a bit high. CC is in the middle of a family emergency so he is not available. I will get with him when he gets back to Ga.

So far I'm happy with Geico and their quote for HOI is reasonable with 150K replacement. I'm working with a lady right now from Liberty, just waiting for her to call back with the quote. Amica Ins. seems fair too and their coverages are also good. I also sent a request to Nationwide, not sure about that one yet. Several years ago we were side swiped by a Geico insured driver and Geico was quick to respond and my my truck was repaired very quickly at one of their authorized centers in Kennesaw. I prefer the dealership, but Magnum did a jam up job on the truck. They blended the paint perfectly

I really appreciate all the responses and I'm looking into all of them. Here is something else I've thought about, one reason to reduce the amount of the replacement cost instead of what insurance says it will be is because some of the work we can do ourselves. Things like painting, trim work, doors, laying new tile, etc. What I don't know is if an ins company would allow that and say that it all has to be done by contractors. Of course this is all assuming there is a major incident.

I haven't looked into Liberty yet, forgot about them actually. That's another thing, we've never had to file a claim either.
