They come from the JFK (or more like the Teddy Kennedy) school of thought. In most (if not all) bibles the woman is referred to as a helpmeet (modern wording would be help-mate, I imagine). The word means that woman was created to help Adam meet his obligations to god. The word that was used was a very high compliment 2,000 years ago; and a helpmeet was always considered "equal to and appropriate". Anyone who does not understand the meaning of words in the bible or does not understand the original texts of the bible needs merely to hit google or go to a local library.
