  1. Since the City of Atlanta owns thousands of acres in Paulding, couldn't they develop the land and make it "stink" such as landfills or chicken houses or hog farms. I'd do it for spite. I'd cut every tree in the forest just for spite, The county will lose this lawsuit with the city of Atlanta. Bottom line, Paulding's good ol' boys lied to the voters, they lied to the Feds, they lied to the city of Atlanta.....Hopefully this will drag on for a couple more years until I can retire and get out of "Atlanta's Trailer Park".
  2. What if the judge rules Paulding County must forfeit the airport to Atlanta due to breach of contract? as mentioned in Whitey's .pdf lawsuit attachment Talk about that. Go ahead and laugh and say it won't happen, but when Atlanta can bring lawyers from Washington DC to our little county, we're in serious trouble. Money talks and Atlanta has deeper pockets than I do.
  3. I'm hoping the courts can ties this up for a couple more years until I can retire and get out of here. The former chairman screwed us hard apparently. To blame "Chicken World 4" for keeping their promises opposing commercialization is absurd.... the airport supporters were the ones who were deceitful and pulled backroom deals and resulted in the firing of attorney Tom Cable. That's the guy who was representing both the county BOC and the PCAA.
  4. I like going to Blue Ridge via I-575 / 515 then, go across 60 to Murphy then take 64 to Cherokee. there's much less traffic than going across to I-85 to 985 and Hwy 23.
  5. We've used Doug Sanders and had good results. His # is 678-614-4226
  6. I heard the helicopter last evening. I figured someone was flown to Grady or Kennestone. They flew right over our house .
  7. If the Democrats hadn't relied on Super-Delegates and even had their hacks in the media give softball questions to Hillary (in advance), we might have Bernie in the White House. The democrats stacked the deck against Bernie Sanders and many of his supporters stayed home on election day. If crooked Hillary had even offered Bernie the VP position rather than Kaine, you'd have a democrat in the White House. Face it, the democrats screwed the pooch, now they are whining and crying and protesting and blah blah blah....... It's their own fault Donald Trump won. Now back to the topic in the
  8. The "orange orangutan" you refer to is your president. Get over it. Folks can moan and groan, but it doesn't matter. pitching a fit doesn't change the fact. If you don't like him, vote for his opponent next time. Until that day, why not figure out how to make our town attractive and business friendly? I saw the mayor of Dallas out in town today ,Why aren't we in Dallas having a an Independence Day parade or BBQ or something? We have to go to Cobb for any action. Do you see a problem with that?
  9. Why would a Fed Ex or UPS Facility want to be located near a field with no highway access? I just don't see it happening until a major freeway connects I-20 and I-75. Our local politicians want to stay in office and they know the key to that is kicking the can down the road. But if the federal officials coughed up some transportation money to fund a major freeway straight to the interstate, then we might get the air cargo thing some folks are pushing for. Remember how the traffic was just awful going to the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton? When they built the access road straight to I-75 t
  10. I'm suggesting removing anything historical regarding the confederacy is wrong. Folks who burn crosses and terrorize blacks are not defensible and they don't represent the majority of Southerners. Actually, one of my great greats was shot in the civil war. He lived until 1905 with one leg. Our family NEVER owned slaves and we never burned crosses and lynched black folks either. We did however run moonshine stills, but this thread is not about that. It's interesting to me that a northern state (Illinois) made it a crime for blacks to even live in that state. i never knew that. Why aren'
  11. The following was a letter to the editor in the Marietta Daily Journal. It is truly an amazing point to ponder.... and NO, I'm not the guy who wrote the letter. http://www.mdjonline.com/opinion/letters_to_editor/why-single-out-confederacy/article_576f5b82-5e14-11e7-b250-fb7ef1354f4b.html DEAR EDITOR: There is a popular movement afoot in this country to remove Confederate monuments and statues from public view. I would urge open-minded people to consider the following facts before passing judgment on these actions: On April 21, 1861, the US Navy captured the slave ship Nightingale o
  12. Some folks are strongly opposed to passenger jets coming in and departing from Silver Comet Field. Other folks see the airport as a means to lower the tax burden on existing property owners here in Paulding County. I personally don't think Paulding has the infrastructure to support increased traffic from the airport. Wouldn't it be much wiser for federal authorities to locate an airfield close to a major interstate highway. (Like Dobbins Air Base)? The federal government could negotiate and move the air force base way out in the boondocks and put commercial air traffic right there by I-
  13. I'm just marking time until I can retire and move away from here. The area along Merchants Drive is starting to look like Bankhead Hwy with junky buy here-pay here used car lots, pawn shops, liquor stores and tattoo parlors. When that moves into an area, for some reason, the area is headed in a downward spiral. Our wonderful elected officials turn a blind eye towards that. The demographics are rapidly changing too. Face it. Paulding County's best days are long gone. we're starting to look like Donald Hollowell Parkway and that's not a good thing.
  14. For the folks who aren't on facebook...can you give more information? I used to be on facebook, but hung it up about a year ago..and for the most part I don't miss it.
  15. I wonder if aliens look like Jar-Jar Binks or maybe Jabba the Hutt...
  16. The broad population thinks about a farmer as a guy sitting on a tractor, but in fact, it’s an extremely sophisticated and risky business, and now it’s becoming more complicated, with more regulation and more focus on food traceability. A farmer needs to manage a huge amount of data, crop pricing volatility, import/export dynamics, and environmental concerns, in addition to the fundamentals of growing crops in a world of exploding demand and decreasing natural resources. These pressures make innovation and technology critical. We have fewer farmers today, yet much higher yields per acre. You
  17. http://fox6now.com/2017/06/21/jury-deliberations-enter-second-day-in-trial-of-dominique-heaggan-brown/ I wonder when the protests will start on this one? Look for Al, Jesse & Maxine to get on TV and pitch a fit.
  18. http://smartmachines.bluerivert.com/ My son is an engineer and has been working on technology with drones. His senior project in college was building a drone and being able to program and maneuver it with a remote control. That was a couple years back and check out the link above and see what kind of technological advances and aerial sensing capabilities our next generation of farmers will be using to maximize crop yields. It's pretty fascinating.
  19. As far as a podiatrist, for general stuff, I'd recommend Dr. Barron Elleby in Austell. For foot & ankle reconstructive surgery, I'd recommend Dr. Craig Camasta in Atlanta near St. Joseph's Hospital. Both are excellent. As far as the other stuff, I have no experience with counseling / psych doctors.
  20. Bring it on..... at last then we could prove to the far left that the Russians didn't hand the election to Trump
  21. The far left thinks the Russians helped Trump win, now the Russians are doing this? Amazing.
  22. This is an outrage.... she didn't pull a trigger. The only person responsible was the poor sap who killed himself. He was to blame, him alone.
  23. To Eddie...aka. the Postman What rhymes with rimes? Could it be chimes? or possibly mimes. What about dimes, times or limes. Don't let others make you feel blue, Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is You-er than You!
  24. http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2017/06/13/police-increase-efforts-over-violence/ The streets of Baltimore are treacherous and the system is broken. There is a serious spike in murders and other violent crimes. How much can be attributed to the Freddie Gray incident where the Black Lives Matter movement caused riots? When an overzealous prosecutor filed charges against cops who were eventually acquitted, who knows if regular beat cops have now decided to sit back rather than risk their own lives and face a trial. Why not wait and send the meat wagon after the dust settles rather than getting
