My wife has an old coin, a Stone Mountain Half-Dollar. It says 1925. It's in fair condition. Front: General Stonewall Jackson and General Robert E. Lee upon their horses. The inscription "Stone Mountain" with the date "1925" at the lower left. At the top, the motto "In God We Trust" with the 13 stars of the Confederacy. Reverse: A Bald Eagle upon a cliff. The inscription, "Memorial to the Valor of the Soldier of the South". Around the rim, "United States of America - Half Dollar - E. Pluribus Unum - Liberty". Just wondering with all the ruckus going on with the looney left, if

None. Zip. Zero. Yet America's # 1 issue is General Robert E. Lee? My goodness folks. There have been more yankees killed on the streets of New York, Boston, Cleveland, Baltimore and Chicago since the war ended than Robert E Lee ever took a shot at. America's # 1 issue should be crime and violence, not a dead general.

http://www.newsweek.com/north-korea-mocks-trump-details-plans-against-guam-and-rallies-under-slogan-649026 North Korea made a mockery of U.S. President Donald Trump and his intimidating warning of meeting Pyongyang’s threats with “fire and fury” as the rogue state continued to threaten the U.S. territory of Guam and thousands of people showed up in the capital for a rally in support of ruler Kim Jong Un. My question is...Why hasn't our CIA / Special Ops folks taken this guy out yet? We took out Saddam, Ghaddafi, Bin Laden and countless other little dic tators, what's

AIRPORT SELLING THE FIRE TRUCK TO COBB?
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm strongly opposed with any tax dollars going to the Airport Authority. Voters have voted against the airport, yet it's there because the good old boys thought they know better than the voters. Well I hope this debacle stays tied up in court for years and I hope the place soon becomes overgrown with weeds. I don't want commercial air traffic. I hope the county commissioners sell off all the airport assets and puts that money into parks or libraries or senior services or something ALL of us use, not a play pen for only a few to use. -
http://www.mdjonline.com/news/cobb-airport-could-get-firetruck-from-paulding/article_5f8e8f7e-7bdb-11e7-bb78-d3a26e18bafc.html MARIETTA — Cobb could soon land an expensive piece of fire safety equipment for the county’s international airport for a fraction of the equipment’s normal price. Cobb Fire Chief Randy Crider is asking county commissioners to approve a $310,000 purchase of a 2010 Oshkosh 1500 Striker — a wheeled aircraft rescue firefighting apparatus — from Paulding County. The specialized firetruck, which would be stationed for use at Cobb County International Airport-McCollum Fi

I still haven't stepped in there

For folks to try to normalize abnormal bizarre behavior is beyond crazy. I get the fact that we're all different, but to open your daughter's restroom to grown adult men is bizarre on the parent's part. Men should use the men's room. -
I still haven't been to Target since they opened their ladies rooms up to transgender men. http://www.theblaze.com/news/2017/04/09/new-report-shows-target-is-feeling-the-devastating-effects-of-their-transgender-bathroom-policy/ Nearly one year ago, Americans across the country initiated a boycott over Target’s transgender bathroom policy. Now, the company reveals the boycott really hurt the company’s bottom line. On April 19 of 2016, Target publicized their bathroom policy in a blog post. The store stated their policy was that customers were welcome to use the bathroom of the gend

What exactly does the Marshal's Office do?
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Bottom line is the new budget will be considered by the Board of Commissioners. They plan on raising our taxes (again), why not cut the useless Marshal's office completely out of the budget? This sucks. -
I'm sorry, but does the County still need a staff of full time law enforcement officers to collect Business License taxes and regulate beer stores and taxi's? You could pay a clerk, like Hiram does and save a lot of money. The Marshal's sure aren't out there every day making folks clean up the county. It's amazing how many commercial property owners let their grass grow three feet tall. How many folks have junk in their yard as well as old couches and mattresses thrown in the ditches and the Marshal does nothing about it? Talk about a useless bunch. Lobby your commissioner to get rid of th

Nope. Not me, not now, not ever. 666 isn't a fairy tale. These folks are voluntarily getting microchipped. http://kstp.com/news/wisconsin-company-to-implant-microchips-in-employees-three-square-market/4549459/ July 22, 2017 07:24 AM A Wisconsin company is about to become the first in the U.S. to offer microchip implants to its employees. Yes, you read that right. Microchip implants. "It's the next thing that's inevitably going to happen, and we want to be a part of it," Three Square Market Chief Executive Officer Todd Westby said. The company designs software for break room m

Apartments tend to draw in the riff raff
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I believe the topic was about crime associated with apartments (Low Income Housing / Section . We need fewer apartments and low income housing options. As one poster suggested, make the existing apartments unaffordable to trash. Raise the rent and run the riff raff out to Rockmart. I saw a pan-handler one day last week up near Sam's in Hiram. The sheriff should drive them out to Rockmart too. We don't want to continue to be called Atlanta's Trailer Park. -
I think he should have been in jail for the rest of his life.

Apartments tend to draw in the riff raff
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Austell Road / Pat Mell area used to be very quiet. Now it's full of crime. A lot of police activity comes from the various apartment communities up and down Austell Road and Pat Mell. Once quiet areas of Marietta are now lined with tattoo parlors, check cashers, pawn shops, buy here - pay here car lots, weekly rental apartments, liquor stores, etc. When those kind of businesses move in, the clients they bring are often the "riffyest of the raff". I don't want that happening to Dallas, but I'm afraid it's too late. Look up and down Merchants Drive and Atlanta Hwy. It's starting to look alo -
Over time, Apartments tend to draw in residents which in turn brings down surrounding home values. My father lives very close to Austell Road / Pat Mell area. He's lived there for umpteen years and just yesterday, there was another murder at the apartments right near him. This time, 4 masked men gunned down a man in broad daylight. I suppose crime can happen anywhere, at any time, but it just seems like it happens more frequently at apartments. http://www.mdjonline.com/news/police-marietta-man-killed-wednesday-by-four-masked-men-wielding/article_1f269914-6d52-11e7-bf52-5741bdad7

My sweet wife and I have been married 27 years this week. Throughout the years, I've found her to be source of inspiration and a storehouse of wisdom. She is truly filled with compassion, and with compassion there is humanity, with humanity there is generosity and love. She is truly my best friend and I'm beyond blessed to call her my wife. A friend one said, "A real man isn't measured by the number of women he can romance over the years. A real man is measured by the number of years he can romance one woman." Happy Anniversary to my wife, and my best friend.

https://patch.com/georgia/dallas-hiram/litter-paulding-get-your-name-paper?utm_source=alert-breakingnews&utm_medium=email&utm_term=weather&utm_campaign=alert DALLAS, GA — Are you a Paulding County litter bug? If so, there's a better chance than ever that local authorities are going to bust you for it — and they might make you famous in the process. Frustrated that past efforts have failed to curb litter, the Paulding County Marshal Bureau is cracking down on littering of all kinds. That includes a new policy of publishing the names of litterers in a local newspaper and requiri

Paulding Airport - Serious discussion
Coppertop's Pop replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We have many issues facing Paulding County. The airport bottomless pit of wasted money is only 1 issue. Todd is a decent man. He's really too honest to be a southern politician. We voted for the guys who were honest but still tough enough to put the brakes on the airport. So far, they've been successful. so to imply Todd got beat is amusingly inaccurate. If you support commercialization, you got beat. So there's that. The biggest problem we have in Paulding is the dysfunctional school board. Talk about a real mess. ...that bunch of bureaucrats will make you want to cuss, but this thread -
https://patch.com/georgia/dallas-hiram/s/g69t8/no-georgia-tax-free-weekend-in-2017-icymi?utm_source=alert-breakingnews&utm_medium=email&utm_term=weather&utm_campaign=alert ATLANTA, GA — Back-to-school shoppers in Georgia who have grown accustomed to a sales tax-free weekend may be disappointed this year. The Georgia legislature, which has to approve the tax holidays on a yearly basis, didn't do so for 2017. As such, July 29-30, which would have been the summer sales tax holiday, will be just another weekend for shoppers in the state. Over the past decade, Georgia has had tw
