  1. No but I have flown over it. In fact that is about where I was when the above picture was taken. We were on a flight from PC to Melbourne Fl, took us right over it.
  2. Will do, more than likely it will be a weekend soon. Mom, my sister and her family live in Paulding so I am up frequently.
  3. oH LAWD, transmitter road, no way, still too much traffic. I.m talkin 20 miles north on 77. And if I really want to get away I’ll stay at my apartment at the airport in Bonifay. YES I have an apartment ON an airport IN an airplane hangar. The best mancave any redblooded American male could ask for.
  4. WELL, I live far enough north that I don’t hafta deal with the traffic but close enough to be anywhere in town within 30 minutes .
  5. Unfortunately I can’t answer that. I do not live in Paulding and the only relative I have that is employed by Paulding works at the animal shelter. Next time I am up, if schedules mesh I’ll take you up and let you fly a bit if you want. At least that way you can say you have got some utilization of the airport.
  6. Just in case some of yall come down looking for it. Treasure Ship burns
  7. Ya know, I would bet that of all the publicly owned general aviation airports in this country, not one can claim to be used by a majority of the citizens of the county in which it is located. Less than ½ of one percent of the worlds population holds a pilot certificate, so I guess since > 99.5% of the worlds population is a non certificate holder there should be no airports
  8. I concur, and do not want to hijack this topic. Thanks for the respectable reply, and hope my previous one did not come across as too snarkey.
  9. OH YEA, right. Never mind the other facts that go along with that case. POOR rodney king.
  10. Yes I do and I am sad to hear this. I read his book a long time ago and he was someone I thought to be a model officer and leader. I wish there were more like him today.
  11. Coincidently, I am a taxpayer also, and with all of the entitlement programs and every thing else my taxes fund that I get no say so in or benefit from, I am happy there is a little something in it for me since I do not participate in the entitlement or other redistribution programs. I dont know what kind of pilot you are or what kind of airplane you have but I find it hard to believe that someone who is actually into aviation and should understand the long term benefits a project like this will have on the area is against it.
  12. Well personally I enjoy being able to land at Paulding instead of Cartersville or McCollum when I come up to visit family in Dallas. When the FBO opens and fuel and other services are offered the airport will see a lot more traffic. And NO I am not related to or know any of the politicians or contractors that had anything to do with building it.. Stop haten and give it a little time, it WILL be producing revenue and providing jobs soon.
  13. Yall be careful going to or coming from PC, there is a mean old cop out writing these little angels tickets on HWYs 77 and 79 between the hrs of 1600 and 2359.
  14. Give it time, the aclu, naacp, splc, and the others will have a suit filed soon.
  15. I use Carbonite, and trust the encryption well enough to store law enforcement sensitive files as well as personal files with them. A remote HD or DVD will work but the big advantage to using Carbonite is that it is automatic and it is off site storage. If your computer takes a dump, is stolen or your house burns or is otherwise destroyed ,your files do not go with it. Another reason is you can access your files from any computer any time. Just my preference. As long as folks are comfortable with their method of backup, I say, what ever floats their boat.
  16. STRAIGHT DOWN 6 T 1 WE'RE HEADED TO Vill-a-Ri-ca! sounds mobetta like that.
  17. You know how it is, we can't win for Lose’n, dayumd if we do and dayumd if if we don't.
  18. It’s a double edged sword. People move to/live the country to be free from municipal restrictions and to be able to engage in this type of activity. Not everyone that enjoys firearms, shooting and staying proficient with their weapons are idiots. Have you tried to talk to them, do you know them? They have just as much right to enjoy their freedoms as anyone else does. You state “I wish the law would catch up with the times and listen to the people who live out here.” Are you referencing law enforcement? If so I take it you have called them and they told you there was not a lot they could d
  19. OH just FYI, that using a tail vehicle to keep anyone else from getting behind a vehicle with obvious violations (or for other reasons); This is known as furtive activity, most of us can spot this a mile away and when we do it certainly draws our attention to BOTH vehicles.
  20. First let me say thank you for a well thought out, rational, lucid and intelligent response, it is well received. In the 25 years I have been in public safety I have provided countless public assists. It has always been a great pleasure for me to help others in a time of need. But the times have changed. In the 80s when I came upon a person walking to the gas station with a can I was often glad to lend a hand, flat tire, glad to help, and the recipients of my effort were humble and filled with gratitude, to the point of offering money for my time, of which I have accepted NONE. But over the
  21. You oughta try being the one who has to respond to all of these BS calls. We get more and more of these kind of complaints every day. I got a call one evening to respond to a residence in reference to a verbal altercation. When I arrived the man told me that he had an argument with his wife earlier in the day, he thought they had settled the issue but “she just wont let it go, she has been on my back all day and I am tired of it”. I told him he was free to leave the house if he did not want to be involved in the dispute any longer. He said that she was the one nagging him and that she should
