  1. The “predetermined period of time” should help with that issue. HARSH? Yes. But it is the only way we are going to get a handle on these issues. Quoting Albert Einstein “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” We have tried the PC kid gloves approach to a lot of our social ills with no luck, it is time to take the gloves off, harsh? Yes, effective, probably
  2. I must concur with you on that. The FP program in a lot of states has become a cash cow for some. I have seen foster homes with waayyy too many children and not enough interaction from the Fps. They are sittin ‘round collecting the cash while providing bare minimum the children.
  3. Removal from the home, if no relatives are willing to take them, foster care for a predetermined period of time; if the parent(s) cannot provide a suitable home after that time they forfeit parental rights and the child is adopted out.
  4. These people already are in bed with the government, they have no problem holding their hand out to the government for financial assistance(and any other kind for that matter) so it is not an intrusion by the government when folks are simply asked to comply with RULES to get the benefits they are seeking. When WE the people are saddled with the burden of supporting these people who are on a system that takes money from the PEOPLE for redistribution WE the PEOPLE have a right to insure those receiving it are not squandering it. If I ever find myself in the position of needing government assista
  5. OH hear, let me add to your misery. I took these today in one our local housing projects. These are city owned and HUD funded (this means that HUD pays the city federal money to cover the lions share of the rent for the tenants). The average tenant in this particular set of homes pays $35.00 per month rent HUD picks up the rest; full rent in these units runs from $350 a month for a one bedroom to $675 a month for a three bedroom. Part of the agreement when a person signs a lease here is that they agree to do a certain amount of community service. Last time I talked to the manager here she told
  6. some pix I took of KPUJ about a year ago for those who want to see the airport from it's Proper perspective.
  7. The airport authority cannot restrict military (or any other)aircraft operations at that airport. You are fighting a losing battle. The authority ought to be working on getting a military fuel contract.
  8. I have tracked more people down using this site more than any other resource I have access to, including FCIC and NCIC. The beauty of this site is it provides you with known associates and family members, and there is where you will find, or get information on the whereabouts of your target 90% of the time. Happy hunting. http://www.peoplefinders.com/
  9. If Money were no obstacle, in Florida I would move to Marco Island, in Georgia I would move to Jekyll Island.
  10. Cant say why, but this topic reminded me of this. To all the kid’s who survived the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s… We survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. Our Mom took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes. Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no child-proof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets When we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. We rode in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
  11. Source White team's step show victory sets off controversy ATLANTA -- Visit any of the nation's more than 100 historically black colleges or universities and you'll see clusters of men and women engaged in the rhythmic clapping and foot-stomping routines known in black Greek circles as "stepping." Now a white Arkansas team's win in an Atlanta step competition has started a fiery debate over the African-inspired tradition and whether the integration of a once ethnically exclusive activity constitutes a form of cultural theft. Posters questioned everything from whether a whit
  12. WOW sorry to know you choose your friends based on ones occupation. During my career I have made many great friendships through my contact with the public. In my experience the only ones who have the mentality “police are not your friends” are folks who habitually violate the law. But I must say you give good advise to your non friends of the police.
  13. The answer would be YES. But with all of the same rights and standards afforded any other accused person. In other words with due process. Not hind sight and for the sake of saving money. And in the situation of a complaint on an officer by someone with an established criminal record where it is ones word against another, I would think any honest citizen would be willing to take an officers word over a criminal, criminals have an established pattern of lying. So why would someone be ready to accept a criminals word over an officers when there is nothing but he said she said testimony.
  14. Well if Woodstock city administrator’s hada had their heads screwed on straight back in the 80s I probably would have stayed with the FD. BUT again the administration failed us. They brought a guy in as chief who had failed (been run off) in every other department in the city including the water dept. Why the city would not fire him we never knew but he must have had something on someone. They stuck him in as chief and after many letters from the firefighters to the city about this guy, his antics, inability to lead, ect a bunch of us finally left. I spent the next 12 years or so as an adjunct
  15. The days of a department or its hierarchy backing an officer PERIOD are about gone. In this litigious society where the scourge of the earth with a rap sheet to prove it makes a complaint against an officer and the officer has no video to exonerate himself, the dirtbags complaint is settled out of court for the sake of saving money on litigation and the “image” of the department and its command staff. SO the dirtbag who caused himself to have contact with law enforcement in the first place by his own unlawful actions, gets into a physical confrontation with police, comes out on the losing end
  16. I am all for people knowing and exercising their rights, and absolutely WILL NOT violate a person’s rights to make a case. Fortunately for us and unfortunately for drunks, the ability to exercise ones right to remain silent declines as the BAC rises.
  17. Not even, I put in 40 hrs M-F at the Sheriff's dept and I co-manage the local airport so I stay purrrrrty bzy.But I DO make time for "social" .
  18. I was just down looking at the new county pier in Panama City today, bring on the ‘ritas.
