  1. I'll give you something to think about... Recently while discussing the subject of legalizing gay marriage a friend whom is more to the right than my beliefs and opinions asked a question... "We know at some time gay marriage will be legalized nationwide. What issue that is now against our beliefs will then be the next hot topic to be legalized?" I will hold on revealing his projection in order to open an opportunity to hear other opinions.
  2. This posting is the root of the problem where many become intolerable of others. Many of us have made a choice of a life of fidelity with our spouse of the other sex. We don't shove our choice of life on others. We treat everyone we meet with respect. We treat others the way we would want to be treated... But let someone get asked their beliefs in public and a person like Dan Cathy is called a "crackpot", "bigot and worse". I will continue to stay out of your bedroom. I have no idea what your lifestyle or beliefs are, and if I see you broken down on the side of the road I will continue to
  3. You might want to visit Chick-Fil-A's Locator sight. A quick search of Maine, New York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Illinois all hit multiple locations.
  4. I was raised and still believe marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman. I believe sex between a man and a man, a woman and a woman, unmarried people, a married person and a single person, an adult man or woman and a child, a man or woman and any other combination not covered under the blessing of a marriage between a man and a woman is a sin. For me... Sex in any form without my wife is a personal sin I will stand accountable for on my judgement day. Call me what you want to call me... This is my belief... Don't preach at me that I am wrong and I don't push my beliefs off on anyone else.
  5. Someone on here recently said I was crazy for saying the same thing about the county operated ambulance service back in our home town in SC. Our family has told us that back home you pay upfront for transport service, then you file Medicare on your own. If you do not pay upfront, you do not ride. Now I'm sure emergency response is different, but I'm told this is the way it is for transport services. Me for 1, I appricate Sam Clark's service here.
  6. I am 58. Some months I will read a book. Some months I will not read a book. I most likely average 6 to 7 books a year.
  7. I witnessed first hand for 20 + years where the leadership of Paulding County did everything they could to stop economic development. The past administration was convinced PRD's was the path to our prosperity. It's been exciting to listen to David's passion about bringing jobs to Paulding County for the past 4 years. I read on Facebook another Dallas company Simmons Engineering announced an expansion today. On the airport... I was bitterly opposed to it. While talking to David during his campaign it was eye opening to listen to his take on the subject... Basically he shared we were stuck
  8. I have already voted against Heath. This campaign of his has sickened me. This campaign of his had been the worst mud slinging I have ever seen. I will never vote for Bill Heath again in any campaign for any position.
  9. Me for one I am extremely excited to read this news. I'm proud to be a part of a community that is proactive towards developing good jobs. Today sure is a change from exactly 4 years ago when Jerry Shearin was slinging all the mud about David Austin being a developer. Remember Jerry's mail tubes? Now 4 years later we can see the new hospital going up and read positive news about economic improvement. Today is a good day for Paulding county.
  10. Maybe if they add a decal above the existing decal "This patrol car donated by..." It might bring more respect. Having the existing decal with Crist font and parking in front of Home Depot maked it appear the officer was moon lighting as a roofing contractor to me.
  11. If I remember correctly we will not have any rights to the drinking water. The way I understand the original proposal is that we will pump water from the Etowah River into our reservoir. Then in case of an emergency our water will be pumped to Cobb County where it will be processed / treated, then the water will be pumped / sold back to Paulding County. I hope I am wrong. But I think it comes down to we will own the hole and Cobb County will own the water.
  12. Never gave it any thought before now. I'm of the opinion advertising on a H.E.R.O unit doesn't bother me. I'm not aware of H.E.R.O truck drivers having the authority to issue tickets or make arrest. It's the wondering about the officer being able to be impartial when facing a judgment call that makes me nervous. With governments being so deep in debt I might just have to get used to advertising on government vehicles.
  13. I saw this car in front of the Hiram Home Depot Friday morning. I fact I took a picture and posted it on Facebook. Personally I don't like it. It just makes me wonder if a Crist Roofing truck gets pulled over for let's say speeding. Will the officer apply the same ticket he would everyone else or give the driver a break because the officer is advertising for Crist?
  14. I totally agree with you. Also apply the same idea to local government not spending our money responsibly. Our local County Court House cost us $65 million. Assuming 5% interest spread over 30 years the payment works out to $348,932.09 per month. That's $484.63 per hour every hour of every day for 30 years just for the payment. 5% interest sounds cheap till you realize that's $60,615,552.00 interest paid over 30 years. This local and state track record of unaccountable spending is why I have already voted NO. Early voting is now open at our $65,000,000.00 Court House. The

    Did anyone

I've got a friend who is a U S Marshall. I can't wait to see him Sunday and get his opinion on the order that came in the mail today. I'm going to hand him.
  17. I expect the "U S Marshall's are hunting Bill Carruth" mailings and calls will be remembered just like Jerry's "David Austin is a developer" mail tubes. Bill Heath has turned my stomach in this campaign.
  18. I've got to agree with you, don't give the money away then expect the little people to make up the difference. Nice Green makes a good point till you think about how the guy saving $132.00 is getting back and forth in the traffic saving that 5 minutes a day. Apply the 14% sales tax increase to an automobile purchase every 3 to 5 years and continual upkeep and he's almost back where he started. Everyone supporting this tax is playing with funny money when they count their savings. Us with the opinion this tax is bad need to get out and vote. Don't assume failure of this tax is in
  19. I've read on the AJC site this morning Chip Rogers Senate Majority leader is now opposed to this. He states this will not solve our traffic problems and many projects will require continued funding after this tax expires. I'm opposed to this tax for several reasons... 1) it's a 14% sales tax increase. 2) I'm afraid it will be just like the GA 400 toll and require extensions for decades. 3) I don't trust our current leaders under the Gold Dome and at the GADOT. I encourage those opposed to this tax increase to get out and vote.
  20. I for one do not trust our current leadership under the Gold Done to allocate 1 penny for our local benefit.
  21. I'm thinking Adairsville, Calhoun, Dalton or just this side of the Tn line. I've got a cheap gas finder app on my phone and I'll start searching once I get on I-75 @ Red Top Mtn.
  22. Kroger in Dallas is $3.239 this morning. We have 1/2 tank. We are going to TN Monday. I'm holding off filling up to see if I find it cheaper up the road.
  23. I totally agree with you and wish to add that we've all messed up at some time. I'm assuming the young man here messed up. It appears to me the mother has blown an opportunity to set an example to her son on how to stand up and be accountable for his actions. I'm expecting the young man acted out of emotions and haste. I expect if he would have turned himself in, been respectful to the authorities, mother had hired an attorney and presented themselves to the court showing remorse and accountability... Then the results would have been much more easy than the results they now face.
