Yep, same 10,000 or so make all the leadership decisions for this county. I barely care anymore.

We did not see any major damage in our travels. The RV park was seriously flooded just 2 days before we arrived and it was fine. We got lucky that we were not there then because it was bad. They had to repair our electrical box for power when we arrived. That was some deep water to burn it out.

I think we caused a little twitter in the RV park. Some were surprised to see 2 women pull a trailer into the park by themselves and set it up.

It was an amazing trip. Very laid back and relaxing. We did not have an agenda of things we wanted to do other than lay on the beach and hopefully eat some great food. RM taught me about travel trailer camping and I taught her about beach camping. We certainly learned that in some ways we are very much alike in the can do department. Even more amazing is that we had some challenges and even difficult things put in front of us. Here is the amazing part especially for 2 women, we pulled together in all these things, rather than pushing against one another. Nothing beat us or ruined our vac

The screening and counseling is about keeping your child safe. I will assume you are a good parent and provide a stable home for your children. Not all people parent well and that places our children in danger in the school setting. Screening can help identify children with issues and help correct how they react socially. There is a chance that the school setting itself causes some children to be over stimulated. They don't need drugs they need tools to keep them calm and focused. Drugs are an absolute last resort even in cases where I know school performance has improved with drugs, I am

Why jump to a conclusion of drugging kids. The idea of screening is about prevention. I really am not surprised that some would think right away about negative control of children. It is about helping children to cope when a problem is identified.

That means a lot coming from you. I know that you have seen a lot of broken people. If we can raise a few generations of people with good coping skills we can raise a generation of good parents. There was a time when we really did not know any better, life was simpler. We know better and we have an opportunity to change some things for the better. There are a lot of parents out there that know something is wrong, they don't know what to do and do not have the financial means to get professional help for their family. I think the school system and pediatricians are a good way to go.

So we should not help children having issues? You act as though evaluating them and deciding to help is a type of punishment. We all need someone to talk to about our problems. Many kids turn to their peers who are going through the same issues. I don't see where that works out very well. Then you have kids that don't feel like they can talk to anyone. That is not working out well either. I do believe people can change and they can be fixed.

I read the note that he left. He was a very sick young man. As are way too many young men trying to commit mass murders over the last few years. I don't believe these young men get this way over a short period of time. We screen kids for vision and hearing each year, why not screen for mental issues also? The pediatrician or the school could have questionnaires and follow up with any that concern them and even follow these children that are having issues. Those of us with teens have more than likely thought at some point our children may be depressed. We deal with behavioral problems

This may be the best thing that could happen for both of them. Mom needs to tell her side of the story. Hopefully she will not get arrested, she does need to admit that she has done all she can do and the belt was a last resort. They can more than likely confirm with the younger child that physical punishment is not the norm. She might as well surrender the girl, more than likely she will receive counseling and help with them that mom probably can't afford. I always told mine if you call the police you better pack because I will surrender you. You can not have a teen in your home that yo

I have been supporting them every year by purchasing most of my plants from them. I saw the doors open Sat. I didn't stop and they were closed yesterday. It looks as though they are working on one of the buildings. I hope nothing is wrong and they are going to open. Does anyone know?

It can be done in both our downtowns. They can create economic development. They can begin to buy up many of the older homes that surround the main streets, then hold them until developers come along and create desirable businesses. You have to have someone out there saying look at us, look what we have.

Thanks for posting this Lo, It is awful that a celebrity has to contract this disease to bring it to the attention of the public. What Debbie describes is Lyme fog. You feel as though reality has been altered and your brain is working in slow motion it is terrifying. I am sorry about your mom Mrs.B I know someone who ended up with permanent vision loss. I hope she recovers fully. My FB friends are probably tired of me sharing, I share all month so that hopefully just one person will recognize the symptoms and get help before permanent damage is done to their body. We are educating docto

We got all the insurance money. We would have to sue him personally. He is an older man on a fixed income renting his home. He really has no money. The amount that was available as I said would shock you, and to know how much is already gone on nothing but medical. The ER and 7 days in in Cartersville, mind you no surgery or special treatment 36,000. Imagine what a surgery and 7 days in Cobb, triple Cartersville fee. We are facing more surgeries, doctor office visits, physical therapy over the next year. We walk into an office full of Medicare patients with the same issues when we go. I w

Sorry I just saw this. Things are not great. It is healing too slow so they want to do a bone graft. So far almost every penny of the car insurance money is gone(folks you can't have too much med or uninsured motorist) She settled out for what was left and she was planning to pay as you go. If I told you the amount gone through and left you would be shocked. We have postponed the graft while we purchase a full year of medical insurance with some of the settlement. She may not be able to apply it for 6 months, but at the rate she is going all the settlement will be eaten up by medical bil

You live in a fantasy world about guns where they don't cause problems but solve them. It worked out really well in the early days of the west didn't it? Why do we have to revisit it? You know I am not reaching for straws gun manufacturers can't keep up with demand and there are shortages of ammo. Mass murders have become quite commom over the last few years. The simplistic answer is to arm yourself and live in fear of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and hope to survive it. I am sorry bet the answer is much more intellectual. We have the ability to identify troubled individuals at

My first flight at 16 was out to Los Angeles. No problems It was a large plane with a center row of seats. I made a few trips from Laguardia to Tn. and a puddle jumper from Groton to Atlantic city. No problems, I am on a flight to Memphis and get a serious panic attack out of no where. Now I look back and know more the panic attack could have been a side effect of the Lyme disease. I had so many serious problems that it never occurred to me. Now I almost always fly and I do have a mental ritual I practice taking off and landing that is effective in keeping me from panicking. Panic atta

Is there any word about what his motivation was? they said he left a note. I am still wondering. Years ago I worked in a department with a very strange man, he gave me the creeps. I was polite to him all the times. Another co-worker was constantly in his face for every little thing. I took her aside and told her to cut it out before she got us all killed. Even before there was so much of this I was aware that some people depend heavily on the rules of society. They can and do insult and say cruel things depending on the rules of society to save them from physical harm. People can be pushe

Jacksonville to his cousins graduation. Only an hour and some minute flight. Hartsfield is intimidating to people new to it. For first time fliers it can be confusing. It was his choice to fly and I am somewhat proud of him. If I could only get him to drive on an Atlanta expressway. I am accepting offers of volunteers to take him out on the expressway. LOL!
-
My son is flying for the first time out of Hartsfield. My daughters were pretty much veteran fliers by teenagers. They flew in and out of Hartsfield and Kennedy. They were escorted by attendants so no risk there. My son on the other hand has not. He is over 18 so there will be no hand holding. I plan to take him step by step through the procedure from ticketing to security and even taking the tram. I also am going to cover some of the signs and the meaning of them. Such as always following signs to baggage claim on arrival. I wish now I had saved an old ticket to show him. So any idea

That is a great idea. I am going to clean my firepit out and place a pop up over it. I found a glass table top to put over it for the summer. I was thinking of putting a plant in it and wondering what would work under the glass. I think I may use your idea instead. Thanks! I was thinking of putting lime in it to get rid of the charred smell, has anyone else done this?

Oklahoma botches execution with untested drug cocktail

Our laws are important to create a society where we can live and work together for the betterment of everyone. We accept that to be part of a society that we will follow the rules. A society can not tolerate those that commit crimes or can not follow the rules. We do our best to remove people from society that hurt others. To a lesser degree we do this in our own social circles and refer to it as the karma train. We accept that punishment is the only way to accomplish this in a society. There is in all of us a spiritual part that hates suffering and part that is elated when we see someon
