You should find it worrisome when you read all the headlines of what some people do with them. We are just going to arm everyone so if a whack job starts shooting people we can be assured that someone there can shoot him dead after he takes the first person out. That is not working well for us. You know LE makes someone take a psychological test before they arm them and send them out in public. I wonder why they do that? Could it be that some people should not have authority and power over others that having a gun gives them? Do you think that LE is glad that just anyone can buy a firearm?

Pat and Patti Show Chamber's debate puts all but one candidate on stage
LPPT replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
I was at that meeting. It had been talked about earlier in a meeting, so I made a point of going and was going to video with my lap top and had picked up the wrong camera. I think it was just me and the marshal there. It was kind of a joke if I had any objections. I thought that it had been published in the New Era, the details of the increase. It was explained that because our house values had dropped so drastically that even with all the severe cuts to the county budget that we would not meet our requirements with out raising it. I don't believe anyones taxes were more than the year befo -

Is he referring to the meeting on the evening of the commission chair election? -
Do you have your own thoughts or opinions on the matter?

I believe in our right to protect our home and family, with guns if necessary. I had a friend not long ago ask me if I had home protection. I replied of course why do you ask. She said I never heard you mention it. She would probably be surprised to know that I know my way around firearms. I just grew up in a family that believed that your firearms are private like your finances. I am very concerned not over gun control but how we are going to control those that have them. Of course had the guard had a firearm he would have stopped him after he shot the first victim. Would it have st

You might want to check that. I know that they are working on the roads and exits around it to accommodate the traffic expected. I am pretty sure something that huge has to have massive sewers, water and utility. Not sure how to find that info, but I am assuming it is out there. They may also have some serious tax credits with the state because of the large amount of jobs. This is the difference between Bartow and Polk and Paulding. It is not a big deal to provide anything needed for large industry they have been accommodating businesses for years. That is why they have so much manufa

The orange dirt here has a heavy mineral content, It is so hard to get out of the grout. I made the mistake of using a light gray grout, never again. Go as dark as possible.

Ran across this update on the facility. I am so glad to see something like this creating so many jobs for the area. Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

Watch for lightening overhead with no thunder. If you see that head for the basement or cover. I have never experienced that when it was not a tornado. It is very eerie to watch the sky light up like that and hear nothing.

We are dealing with some really weird stuff trying to get my oldest insurance. I tried checking some plans, had to put in my phone number, now I get 25 calls a day from some type of insurance clearing house. We are slowly but surely wading through the facts and fiction of it. So far this is what I think is going on. The doctors and specialist have dropped out of all HMO's because they are contracted to ridiculously low payments for service. We were told POS only, meaning that the doctor charges what he wants to, gets the 30% from us. Not sure how well it will pay him, but it is t

I know you are both walking on air. I can't wait to have the little one over for her reunion with Bear. -
Personally I don't insult people. It seems to be an acceptable thing around here. I really does not matter one way another, there is common theme here when it comes to the conservative/liberal issue. I have grown weary of it to tell the truth and find myself spending less time on here. If I went away all together it would be construed as something against pubby. Paulding.com in no way resembles the real world when it comes to behavior. I have no idea what yall are talking about.
-
Pubby was defending me. I am not sure why some got riled up because I started a thread to tell Pubby how proud I was of him not acting on the information he had in hand for at least a few months about an opponent in his race. I know many do not like Pubby because he can come across terse and enjoys vigorous debate. Having worked with him very closely for many years I know just how generous and caring he is. He has gone above and beyond to help many in this community. He would never dream of blowing his on horn. Quite honestly many of those people have never mentioned many of his

Does it stay within the city limits when it picks her up and drops her off? I see them in the city limits of Dallas and Hiram all the time. They are legal in the city limits.
-
What is the difference in CeeJay calling me drunk and Pubby turning around calling her a drunk for accusing me?

You are aware that people and corporations petition the government to make laws and regulations. They don't sit around thinking about something to do. When they do make these laws and regulations, lawyers draw them up, then they have to explain to most of them exactly what it means and the implications. Legislatures are easily taken in by this. It creates job security for lawyers and bends the public over. I suspect that dairy farmers benefitted from the law since 2% is mostly water. They are doubling and tripling the volume of milk they sell. It also goes bad very quickly. I

This is the story I got, they are not big enough to have dispatchers and strict record keeping of their activities. The fear is that someone will call a cab way out in the boonies and they may harm or rob someone while pretending to be a taxi. I think that is a stretch.
-
I don't know if it fits the description of entrapment. It has always bothered me that the rules for taxi drivers to take fares outside the city limits are so stringent that none can get the license. Someone always says so and so taxi service will take you. When you ask if they are legal to do so you get the run around.
-
That makes more sense, they usually do PR before Rolling Thunder starts. I feel horrible for the bank employees that is so scary.
-
They are out trying to catch drunk drivers in our county. They know that there is no option for people to get home other than DD's because cabs are not licensed to drive people outside of the city limits. Yet they give liquor license to anyone outside the city limits that can afford the license. As far as I know when you have LE from multiple jurisdictions it is a task force to catch drunks and those with warrants. They are so proud of this you can find videos of it on youtube.
-
Don't they call that rolling thunder or something similar they do every year? I still have to ask if we have taxi companies that are legal to take folks home safely out of the city limits? As I have always said no cab license in the county no legal alcohol sales. If your DD in this county chooses to get caught up in the party, you have no safe option. While it may generate some funds, it puts the lives of many in danger. When is this going to be addressed here?

When it comes to politics and campaigns you see everything as manipulation and strategy. Bottom line there is no strategy to this issue. It is called integrity and honor, maybe that is an alien concept to you. The decisions on this issue were made on those grounds.

Might as well just go ahead and put them in prison now. Why wait for them harm other people to put them in jail? That is the intent of a gang right? to intimidate and fight.

Time to clean house, looks like the deputies are going to have to go back to high school.
