  1. Support Silver Comet Field at Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport 11 hrs · The Paulding County Government has made a wise decision and will be voting on the Intergovernmental Agreement tomorrow morning to free the airport from more government bureaucracy!!! First, the Paulding County Airport Authority(PCAA) will granted full control of the airport's property since it's currently under the possession of the county. Second, the Airport Department will be dissolved and the two current positions will now be placed under the control of the PCAA. The PCAA will have full control over staffing of o
  2. I am taking my son to Emory for a routine blood test today. I always go by expressway to get there. My son does not drive on the expressway, they terrify him because the only expressways he has ever been on are Atlanta. I guess using them all my life and driving all over the eastern seaboard I adjusted to the more aggressive style. My son on the other hand gets more afraid every time we take them. So if someone has a route that works well I would like to go that way and show him. Also if you are brave enough to go with a young man in a small Honda to teach him that would also be app
  3. She is wonderful! She has hemmed and modified dresses for me many times. All around great lady!
  4. TODAY IS MY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND THIS IS SO PERFECT! Post by Sherry Johnson Warren.
  5. I uploaded this video. I have not edited it. I just wanted to give folks an idea of what to expect at this wonderful family event. This family has created this for their own pleasure and those in their community. This is not for profit but for family enjoyment. I am publishing this to give them recognition for a wonderful event. I may upload more later.
  6. There is a family up here in Burnt Hickory that has built a replica of an old west town. They put on a wild west show every year. There is no charge, just donations. I have a few pics from last year. I never edited any of the video of the show yet.
  7. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL LADY!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  8. I feel a little guilty for hoping to be here. Dad is very anxious for his second procedure. I will go back when he has it. I miss you and all my Paulding friends. Paulding always has great activities in the spring and fall.
  9. Dealing with one pressing against my legs almost tripping me right now. She came from behind the toilet for solace. Take my word, it only gets worse. I had a 50lb shepherd jump in the shower with me while my back was turned. The storms at night where the worse, she would try to curl up on your chest and pant so hard the bed shook. You would think after many years of nothing hurting them when the thunder rolled, they would reason that it won't hurt you. A few times I had to lock the shepherd in the car because she would repeatedly throw herself at the front door. Make your life eas
  10. Having worked with a lot of small businesses locally I have seen some of the biggest problems first hand. If you need brick and mortar buildings you are at the biggest risk of failure in your first year. Many look for older buildings for lower rents and this is generally the first hump, but I have seen buildings less than 5 years be out of code. I just observed this on Tybee this last year so it is a statewide problem. Most people don't borrow enough money to begin with. Some have borrowed enough money but lose 1/2 of it after they sign a lease and have to bring a building up to code. I h
  11. We don't especially need torte reform. The problem with malpractice insurance is that a doctor is pre-penalized whether he screws up or not. So all doctors pay for a handful of bad ones. Not only that, they continue to practice. It is almost impossible to remove a doctors license. He should be suspended from practice for a time, that way patients will know he has lost his case. Doctors are being buried by bureaucracy. Yes they still make good money but more than 1/2 of what they collect goes to administration. A doctor may see as little as 20% of what you see charged. He spends as much if
  12. Just wondering if anyone knows what day it will be held this year? I always have a wonderful time and catch up with my neighbors here in Burnt Hickory.
  13. I understand that gun folks are very complex individuals, truly I do. I know that they are prepared for all types of dangerous and threatening situations that can be resolved in their favor by a gun. I have said many times that guns are the ultimate in problem solving when it comes to dealing with other human beings.
  14. We will have to disagree on this one. For families deeply invested in the firearm culture this seems logical. Been there done that, When the head of family lives eats and breaths firearms, then everyone goes along to get along. Lets look at some of the countries where you roll down the street and see men socializing with one another with uzi's strapped on their backs as women and children walk by on the way to market. Looks bad because they are wearing towels on their head. Looks no different to me shopping in kroger and seeing a handful openly carrying. I have been there, I went along for a
  15. I don't watch so I have no idea, but I thing the Sonic dudes are. They are not all fashionistas, one of my most cherished gay friends dresses like a little trucker and sings country music!
  16. Good to see you LR! I know you have been on a spiritual journey yourself. I hope we can do lunch soon
  17. This represents my issue with the current gun frenzy. Lot of folks buying them in response to the fabricated Obama is going to take um issue. Gun ownership is a huge responsibility. If you are married with children it becomes a family issue. I also feel it is a private matter like your bank account. Waving guns and bragging about your constitutional rights is a total put off and a sign to me that you don't take as serious as you should. I agree with those that say a gun is for killing and nothing else. I also believe in teaching and allowing children to handle and fire it when old enough to

  19. Blondie, that is beautiful. I know that you will really enjoy it. After 10 years we still use ours frequently.
  20. We are headed for Tybee in a few days, so it may be next week before I can get over there. Remember the book on CD I gave to Mrs, Pip. It will interest you and also contains info about a website where you can share with those that have had similar experiences. I am glad you are writing about it. One thing is for sure, many that have experienced it become more spiritual than religious. The spiritual walk alone for the most part as we leave religion behind for a deeper experience with what time we have left. I look forward to the discussions we will now have. Hugs to you all, see you soon.
  21. My aunt passed away a few weeks ago while I was in Tn. Honestly I was not even sure she was still living. She was my grandmothers sister and the last to go. There were 3 sisters and a brother. The 3 were well known for the shenanigans. Once hopping a slow moving train that sped up and they had to ride to the next town and call their parents to pick them up. They were well known to laugh so hard and long that they all 3 wet their pants and have to go home to change, thus breaking up the gathering. Life has it's bumps and tragedies and theirs were no different. They were all change
  22. This administration needs to stop jumping through media hoops. Fox news will never have good thing to say about him and his administration. Why is he now trying to prove that he cares about the plight of poor black people. His administration has never given black people any special consideration. How can you help people that murder and crime are part of their culture. You can't, on top of the shootings you have an outrageous amount of petty crime that they don't believe their people should be arrested and prosecuted for. Stealing should not be punishable by death, yet they seem to accept kill
