I will, it seems I remember one, but don't hold me to it. It seems I thought to myself that they are going to add some more utilities there like another transformer or phone thingy and I ignored it. I didn't think about there being enough land there to do more than a little gas station. After the building stopped I always assumed we would end up with a gas station there. A dollar store may ultimately be better than a gas station as far as the amount and type of traffic it brings, if we have to have something there. I am wondering how the residences on the 2 sides closest feel about it,

There could have been a sign, I can ask about it. I know a lot of folks are concerned about traffic, it was coming anyway and that might be the reason we are seeing the land used now. The fields at the Burnt Hickory park were not ready last year so we didn't see the traffic or hear noise. There will be little league and travel ball there this year. We are going to probably see more increases in traffic over the next year from that. I am praying that we won't see increases in fatalities from it especially since that traffic will have kids.

I know that part of it is true and wouldn't have much trouble confirming the rest. I know 1/2 of the people talking in this thread live on my side, the older section, our houses are better built than the new section and we take care of our homes. We maintain and improve them constantly. The folks in my cul-de-sac all take care of their homes. We are all concerned about the one house going so cheap.

We could have cruises in the parking lot As Mojo pointed out it is a done deal, we can fuss all we want, but it is what it is. For me it has been hard to keep caring when I kept seeing the things I mentioned increasing, I have no power over those things and fully expect those things to increase. I am old fashioned in my beliefs that a house is a home, you take care of it, you expect to live in it a long time. Now days people see a home as an investment, the value goes up with the market whether they care for it or not, they use the house up, don't take care of it and they still end up

I think it is an odd place for one, but they also put one on south 61 just before the Hiram Sudie intersection, kind of the same thing more residential than commercial. That may be their strategy instead of competing with other retail, they get business from people not wanting to go to retail centers. I don't think it will see anymore traffic than the other convenience stores on the highway. One thing is for sure turning on and off 61 is never going to get any less dangerous until it is widened. As far as how it looks, it has been an overgrown unofficial car lot for years. I am all fo

I haven't said much because if they are breaking ground the zoning and permits have been done. I am pretty sure it's too late to do anything but fuss. I was well aware that the new school was going to bring traffic and it has. I expect the park to do the same this year because the ball fields will be open this year. As far as property values dropping, I don't know how they could get any worse, as an older neighborhood sprinkled with some of the last affordable, small starter homes we were seeing a high turnover of some houses before the market fell. We saw a large influx of renters

It was wonderful to see you yesterday!!! Would you share with the folks the book you were showing me and explain where they can get it and how it benefits the community. I can't wait to get mine and read it.

George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, murder or self defense?
LPPT replied to ihaveadog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Link to article Trayvon Martin shooting: It's not George Zimmerman crying for help on 911 recording, 2 experts say As the Trayvon Martin controversy splinters into a debate about self-defense, a central question remains: Who was heard crying for help on a 911 call in the moments before the teen was shot? A leading expert in the field of forensic voice identification sought to answer that question by analyzing the recordings for the Orlando Sentinel. I realize exactly what this article is, with investigators being tight lipped the news outlets are at the same p -
That is about the price I expected for heavy duty cages that will last forever. It is about the same as I am paying for the large cages plus a steel fence post to keep them from falling over. Bubba you can put me down for 6 if this is the price you are charging.

I wanted to take the time to share with everyone while this is still fresh in my mind. I have been covering the services for the memorial this year to help document many of the stories and will continue to talk to people that wish to document their experiences from the Newhope crash. I know that we have many transplants here in Paulding, I myself am a transplant. When we decided 20 years ago to start our lives here, we knew we would be here for the rest of our lives. We would raise our children here, retire here and be buried here. In our minds the history of Paulding became our hist

George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, murder or self defense?

Because of that case and these 2 men you can justify fighting these people asking for an investigation. WOW injustice really does exist based on color. -
George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, murder or self defense?
LPPT replied to ihaveadog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think if you wipe out every bit of the color from this issue you will see something very different. A mother' son does not come home that night, she gets up the next day to put in a missing person report and gets a call back that her son is dead. She goes to the police and learns the circumstances of his death. She tells the police that something is very wrong my son is not a violent person and this sounds out of character for him. The police tell her lady we are very sorry but this man was neighborhood watch and he invoked the stand your ground law we have no other evidence to the -
Thanks for the bump this morning, I forgot to do it!!

George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, murder or self defense?
LPPT replied to ihaveadog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I agree with you on this, if they took all the momentum towards this issue and turned it towards dealing with black on black crime they could make a bigger difference. They could actually save lives before the fact. I know things have changed a lot from when I was growing up. I work with professional business people and the subject never comes up. I do know growing up I would hear the talk that it didn't make any difference you were never going to get the raise or the promotion because of the color of your skin. I have often wondered how many kids grew up hearing that over and over. -
Student's parents hired a lawyer fighting EPHS over senior prank
LPPT replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My understanding is the families are fighting a felony conviction. A felony conviction follows you for life. Many corporations have rules against hiring people with felonies. They will not make exceptions because it was a high school prank that got out of hand. Smaller businesses that you might apply for won't put forth the money or the effort to research your claim that it was a high school prank. Applications that say felony get filed in the round hole immediately. I think kids have a pretty good idea about the big stuff, assault, murder, rape, pushing drugs, spray painting I am not sur -
Any takers for dinner with me at Rodneys tonight?

They said he wasn't badly injured so I posted the pic to remind folks to look twice and as a reminder to riders about blind spots. The weather is getting warmer and we all have to look out for one another. I am so glad this man is going to be ok. I was the second or 3rd car on the scene and I was very nervous about what might have happened. Also the folks at Elrod were helping tend him and helping direct traffic, great bunch of people.
-
A witness reported that the motorcycle rider was not badly injured, I suspect that it will be open within in an hour. If you are headed that way to pick up a kid from school you may want to take Main street to get around the area were Elrods is.

Go ahead and wash them, you can put them in the cabinet next to the aluminum foil and ziplocks you washed and are storing GRANNY! :p PS we need an emergency picture resizing in this thread !!!! -
I participated in an online letter campaign to let my Representatives know that I did not want companies given permission to solicit me on my cell phone. My understanding is that companies could not make unsolicited calls and text to my cell phone. My understanding is I will have to jump through various hoops and renewals to put a stop to it, when I already had protection from it under an existing law. I received this letter this morning. I recently removed my land line for one reason, it was getting as many as 20 sales calls a day. These companies may give a lot to their campaigns,

W. Seattle teen beaten bloody in possible hate crime
LPPT replied to nschur's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I thought the white folks had the KKK to take care of those matters. Of course they don't publicly protest such things and make a stink about it much anymore. Maybe they need a little more support for their cause. My point is, you will always have haters in any society, history is full of them. It is simply easier to hate a well defined target as in skin color, slanted eyes or even dress such as veils. You are not going to eradicate ethnic hate in any society ever. It is human instinct to examine things by all your senses, eyes, ears, smell, taste, and feel first to discern if it -
I am interested in buying some from you if you make them. I have been using the regular tomato cages and using a steel fence post to prevent them from falling over. I had tomato plants that were 6ft tall and 3-4 ft around last year. These would be perfect for me. I would need 6 of them.

How many people think these kids will go on to commit other crimes if they get off easy? Punishment is supposedly about prevention and rehabilitation. We know that the criminal justice system has failed at rehabilitation. We also know that it doesn't often work for prevention. We definitely should have gone the creativity route on this one, if it was a week in juvenile detention or community service for 6 months. Parents are fighting and rightfully so for the futures of their children, I said all along that harsh punishment would force parents of these very young people to fight, that -
I would sometimes make a meat loaf or bake a 1/2 dozen pieces of chicken then we would put different combinations of the steam in the the bag veggies for a couple of nights to change it up. It would simply be heat and eat for a few nights. You can steam the bag of broccoli dump in a bowl and put shredded cheese on it and zap it for another minute. I like simple veggie and meat meals on the weekdays, then the more elaborate and rich foods on the weekend. I think it is helpful for weight control, you have something to look forward to on the weekends and you are not over indulging during the w

I wish I could help you, but I stayed at home until my labor was well advanced. I didn't want to be a patient and be strapped to a bed and hooked up. All you have to think about is the labor and the machines and the delivery. Maybe you can invite a lot of folks to come hang with you and distract you from the hospital stuff. We will keep you company with your laptop also, You could set up your live cam and I can show you how to set up a ustream account, you can talk and we can respond.
