  1. I hope they are and I am hoping for nice people. We are a kind of mind your business cul-de-sac. We are friendly, talk on occasion, help if ask, but stay out of each others business. I think that is perfect. Everyone is very nice and polite and keep their yards and homes decent and nice, not HOA perfect, but nice.
  2. I don't know that their services were needed, when I visit news sites I always read the remarks. It looked to me as though many white people were also calling for further investigation.
  3. I just ignore the whole issue with them and some of the others fanning the flames. They may have been helpful in supporting the parents to get action, their job is done. What I hate to see is it turn into the whites lose and the blacks win or vice versa. That is bad for our country, and bad for everyone. I am not sure if our country will ever heal, there are no single answers to the problems. I choose to see this as a single event and focus on the outcome of this event. No one thing such as the outcome of this will change what is, but it could make things a whole lot worse when tens
  4. I have been thinking about you the last few days :ph34r Not good for my stress level. I also wondered how much an 18ft privacy fence cost per ft just in case.
  5. Did you ever get so anxious to hit the pause button you missed it 3 times
  6. I think everyone is missing the point, the investigation and reporting by the media only serves to create pressure for further investigation. We are getting further investigation. Witnesses will now be required to testify under oath. We will have to accept the findings of the investigation no matter the opinions we acquired due to news coverage. The issue is one of justice. If our social issues with racism in this country were on trial that would be a whole different matter. We know we have that, we know it is serious and we know it is the reason that this so heated. It is importa
  7. I am sure a second investigation will make people more comfortable with the conviction or lack of. At least I hope so. The continued marches and protest today make no sense to as it pertains to the case. People want further investigation and that is what they are getting. I don't especially like the idea that the protest send the message that you had better convict Mr. Zimmerman or there will be more marches and protest. Because the flip side of this if the entire thing is confirmed by eyewitnesses is you can't brutally attack someone for watching you.
  8. These are a few of the things that bother, if the investigation proves that eywitnesses under oath saw the kid run after Zimmerman as he was getting in the truck I will probably be satisfied that this was not a wink and nod by the local police. With a single punch, Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who eventually shot and killed the unarmed 17-year-old, then Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered, authorities have revealed to the Orlando Sentinel. That is the account Zimmerman
  9. I can't find the story anywhere on the internet, do you have a link?
  10. Some of those things might make some people feel right at home I want nice people that won't fill the yard up with cars on cinder blocks. I spoke to at least 2 potential buyers that admitted they didn't have a lawn mower. I casually said you are going to need one
  11. In my opinion the kid doesn't have to be an angel to turn on someone that is following him or detaining him. We only have Zimmerman's word for what happened. He may have grabbed the kid or pushed him once he caught up with him. I don't have any doubt that the kid was getting the best of him. but the kid didn't need to die because he was winning the fight. Remove all the color from this issue and I want to know why Zimmerman gets a pass on this? You can just chase people down now, frighten them into defending themselves, then shoot them? The man was not an officer, he was just some guy
  12. I am not trying to deter people from buying, just worried about people casing the place to pick up copper or something later. I will definitely be glad when it sells the one on the other side just sold and it is a relief not to worry about it getting broken into for scrap.
  13. I have left all 5 of the dogs at the fence to bark, every time especially the big puppy. I can call them in and quiet them but I am not, I want people to know that if they come back for no-good the dogs will alert us. I wish I could buy it so I wouldn't have to worry. It is going cheap so I think that is why such a big crowd.
  14. Ok let me clarify that it was more for others to know it was an accident than you. My theory is Zimmerman was hurt because he kept chasing the kid scaring him, and tries to verbally or physically restrain the kid and the kid let him have it, maybe out of fear, maybe out of anger. Zimmerman had no authority to do any of those things, there is no way for the kid to know the intent of this strange man that had no badge. People with guns generally don't take an a** whoopin deserved or not. He knew that when he chased the guy the decision was already made that if things went bad he could shoot th
  15. Ok the house next door to me must have went up for bid on Friday, very cheaply. Since Friday night about 30 people have been in and out of the drive to look at the house. It is beyond stressful to me to have all these strange people in and out all day. I don't want to leave the house today because I am uncomfortable with all the strangers so close to my house. Nobody is doing anything wrong I am just not use to it. This is the house closest to me so I feel like they are right next to us when they are walking around looking. We have been spoiled with good neighbors for 16 years, I am very
  16. I accidentally gave you a plus just so you know. This kid was walking home from the store at 7pm with his hoody on to protect himself from the rain. He was talking to his girlfriend on the phone, probably walking slowly. The transcripts show that Mr.Zimmerman had already decided that this young man was intoxicated and up to no good. He decides to follow the kid. This poor kids life was over in one way or another from the moment Mr. Zimmerman saw him. Had he not shot him during the scuffle the kid would have most likely ended up with an assault record, ruining his future. How in the w
  17. I went back and edited my post, after reading it I didn't make my point well I was all over the place between the facts and an example so it was easier to just change it to 7pm. I was trying to make the point that some things do come across as suspicious to the average person, hoodies, the time of day, even skin color. There is no law against looking suspicious, but you have choice not to look that way to avoid trouble. I felt like the police were kind of understanding with Mr.Zimmermans report and chase of the kid based on those things and that was why Zimmerman got the pass on what he d
  18. I had set up a scenario about someone being out at 2 am completely covered in a hoody being a suspicious person. I was pointing out what comes across as suspicious to the average person as far as being afraid or calling the police. I hate it that it keeps coming back in the conversation like it was a fact. Maybe I should go back reread it see how it comes across and maybe edit it. You take into account that it was raining and 7pm it is not quite so suspicious. That has opened the door to the question of racial profiling in this case. When you add black man to the equation does it become
  19. I agree that media is trying this case in the court of popular opinion just as we are here. The further investigation is warranted, I will be comfortable with the findings. A lot of people will always say it was a media hack job no matter the outcome. It never hurts to scrutinize a situation further. No matter what the outcome is, I would never be comfortable with this man being armed and playing watchman. His actions directly caused this tragedy, not a kid walking home with Skittles, tea and talking to a girl on the phone.
  20. For one thing the girlfriend had not come forward, which in itself is highly suspicious, she should have said something right away. The police chief resigned, why? He admits to following the kid and he has a record of assault and claims from an ex on record. He is a rule breaker, neighborhood watch is not supposed to be armed, or pursue suspicious people. The rules don't seem to apply to Mr. Zimmerman. He is the one and only reason this kid is dead, had he not pursued him, not confronted him or carried a gun, this kid would be alive today. What do you do, let this man go and say don't
  21. I would not have issues with Mr. Zimmerman being cleared after a thorough investigation of the matter. It is the lack of a thorough investigation that bothers me in the light of things that have come out. I don't think that neighborhood watch people should be armed, that bothers me also. I don't mind engaging in the debate with you, I am sorry that some in here have responded personally and somewhat insultingly to you when we are simply discussing our points of view on the subject
  22. They decided to run an article with statements of Zimmerman's good friend talking about him crying for days about killing the kid. You know if I was over zealous, confronted a kid, got myself beat for disobeying the dispatcher, then found myself possibly facing murder charges I would be crying to. He may have never planned on shooting the kid, it may have not been racial. The bottom line he was trying to exercise authority he didn't have over someone he had no business doing it to and it went bad. It went this bad because he had armed himself, something according to the neighborhood watch r
