  1. This whole thing has got to be staged.
  2. In the eyes of his fan base, he just got even "badder." Such is to be expected in a civilization that celebrates the uncivilized.
  3. Booked in Nashville today, driving home tomorrow. Looks like I just wasn't meant to be there this year.
  4. No problem - I was just thinking that if he was in NoKo, he must be some kind of spy or other bad-a$$ dude and I was thoroughly impressed!
  5. I did a similar thing in New York many years ago. Thousands of actual tap dancers -- plus myself, a rank amateur-- assembled for Macy's "Tap O Mania." We had to report early one morning to a specific building in the city to get our shirts, hats and canes and learn the combination from the tap captains. After we learned the dance, we had to line up and march in a parade down 34th street. Once in position, we danced the routine to the song "If They Could See Me Now" by Sammy Davis Jr. We set the Guinness World Record for the largest group tap number. Still have the hat and cane...
  6. Duh! Of course I'm talking specifically about the islamofascists who started this nonsense and who have declared their intent to destroy us or die trying. No, it is not "the same kind of thinking." I am speaking specifically of islamofascist terrorists who have for the last few decades openly professed their desire to destroy us or die trying. Given the options they have presented us, I vote that they die trying. Good grief...
  7. I had planned to meet a friend and go down to the Georgia World Congress Center to explore a trade show. I came downstairs after getting dressed and, as always, Rosemary had the Today Show on the tv in the kitchen. I saw smoke pouring out of a hole in the side of one of the towers. I remember thinking, "How are they going to fix that?" I was watching as the 2nd plane hit and the conversation changed from being questions about accidents and possible attacks to a realization that we were in fact under direct attack. My friend who was driving us downtown showed up at the house. We decid
  8. Summary of today's presentation - http://wp.me/pgcYz-2I
  9. Here's a summary of what I presented (minus the magic).
  10. My presentation today at the Paulding Business Association was on 4 things I am doing to grow my business. 1. Identify specific audiences and target my marketing more effectively. 2. Identify new markets by thinking about different ways my services can be used. 3. Strive to keep my communications both current and relevant. 4. Be willing to do some unusual, offbeat things to generate and sustain buzz. Each of these points was introduced by a fun bit of magic -- then I expounded on how the magic related to the point and illustrated an idea that they could take away and apply.
  11. I'll be presenting today at the Paulding Business Association meeting at Stars & Strikes. Networking starts at 11:30. Hope you can make it out and enjoy networking with the business community in our area. See you there!

  15. Thanks everyone. There will be tears, but this is not tragic. She had a great life and influenced a lot of people for the good. I am glad her last bit of suffering has concluded... on God's schedule. Getting ready for a sudden trip to Mississippi tomorrow and back late Wednesday... JMT
  16. She was definitely a blessing. I'll miss her. But she is enjoying a well-deserved reward right now!
  17. Some of you may recall my posts almost a year ago (here, here, etc.) about my grandmother's illness. She was at death's door, rebounded, and had almost another full year with us. She moved into a nursing home in January and has had many ups and downs since then. I just got the call from my mom... Mammaw passed away about 11:30pm tonight. I was fortunate to spend time with her several times since last year, the most recent being when I was in Mississippi in July. She was weak but still lucid, recognized me instantly, and was able to interact with me, ask about my family, etc. I wa
  18. There was a time in my youth when I would watch almost the whole thing. I love variety shows.
  19. Herman Cain recited the following at the Paulding Chamber luncheon last week. It was part of an address given by Dr. Benjamin Mays, who was president of Morehouse College when Cain graduated. Cain recounts this poem has having a great influence on his life. It gives one a lot to think about: Life Is Just A Minute Life is just a minute—only sixty seconds in it. Forced upon you—can't refuse it. Didn't seek it—didn't choose it. But it's up to you to use it. You must suffer if you lose it. Give an account if you abuse it. Just a tiny, little minute, But eternity is in
