  9. I am with you - great points about the students and teachers needinga break. School weeks off are not meant to always be for vacations. BUT.....for those who DO want to vacation it is a GREAT option. In the off season you can get much better deals and enjoy a family together while taking advantage of discounts. I am a fan of year-round school, too.
  10. The Mexican restaurant at Crossroads, La Bamba I think is the name does. Also check with the Mexican restaurant that opened recently where Oga's used to be years ago in the K-Mart shopping center. I think they do too.
  11. DH grilled a ground sirloin steak seasoned to perfection and cooked just right. Topped with sauteed' mushrooms & onions. Home cut french fries. Sliced tomato. French Rolls. Nothing exciting but it sure was good!!

I knewhow WONDERFUL it was from the first GRANDbaby and couldn't hardly wait - it was the LONGEST pregnancy on record. IMO anyway - I thought she never would get here!! LOL.
  13. Thoughts and prayers are with this young man's family, friends and loved ones. May God give them Strength and Comfort.
  14. I baked a ham yesterday so I sliced some off and fried it then made grilled ham 'n cheddar cheese sandwiches with tomato picked fresh. Potato chips.
  15. I am not sure where those apartments are but I am on Bus 6 and heard a LOUD clap of thunder closely followed by lots of sirens. Sounds like maybe everyone is okay with minimal damage to the apartments.

  17. I received this in an email and thought it provided some really good info that folks could use: Before you read to the end, does anybody know what the main ingredient is in, WD-40? Don't lie and don't cheat. WD-40 - Who knew! I had a neighbor who bought a new pickup. I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all around the sides of this beige truck (for some unknown reason) I went over, woke him up, and told him the bad news. He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do....probably nothing until Monday morning, since nothing was op
  18. Cheese wienies and baked beans Mashed Taters Cole Slaw Parmesan Cheese Biscuits Carrot Cake for dessert
  19. Me too. I had thought he was just selling out and leaving before we got out.
  20. I can never remember. When I order I have to go to their website for detailed descriptions. My favorite is the: Hickory Chick Salad – lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped hickory-smoked chicken and mandarin orange sections. YUMMMMM. Got me wanting one, now. Their coupon this week is for the hickory fries for $2.95!
  21. I think her post answered your question. The names of the salads are character names that lived in the "Br'er Patch" aka "BRIAR PATCH". The Briar Patch Restaurant used those names from the Uncle Remus childhood stories. LOVED those stories as a child. I know many of the folks on here are not as OLD as I am to remember those books.
  22. If you don't mind walking a few steps the motel beside Six Flags charges $5.00 for parking in their lot to go to to the park.
  23. :yahoo: THANKS for the info.
  24. It's hard to wrap my brain around winter clothes when it is so HOT outside but yes the cooler weather will be here before we know it. The consignment sales are starting with fall/winter clothes and are a great way to sell but you have to register for those months in advance. But, at least it tells you people are starting to buy fall/winter clothes. I would say go for it and if you don't have any response you should in another few weeks when school starts. GOOD LUCK!
