Another vote for USAA. I joke with people and say they are one of the best things I gained while in the military. The only thing I won't get through them is business and motorcycle insurance because they farm that out to progressive. I'll use them for everything else. In my opinion they are one of, if not the best company I have ever used. Even when I was on the claim end (someone hit me) from an auto wreck they were outstanding to work with.

If more people could understand this we'd be putting a step towards a better place.

My office is off Peachtree Industrial. When I go in I leave around 6:30 and it is usually a tad less than an hour drive. I'm about 3 miles behind the Hiram Target shopping area. I either take E-W connector or go back roads to Fontaine and hit E-W there. I have tried many different routes over the years and that is by far the best for me. On the way home I'll usually take Bankhead as the traffic on E-W can get bad. I usually leave the office around 4-4:30 and its a tad over an hour drive home. Luckily I don't go into the office much.

What they have done is made it near impossible to get licensed or certified without joining a union company in some states. They have a monopoly and it is bad for the economy.

Consider yourself very lucky. Most contractors do not get paid for any unworked time.

Why? This woman is smart enough to play the general public to the point of lining her pockets with more money than the vast majority of the pcom population will ever see. This child will have much more opportunity in life than 99.99% of the other single parent children out there.

You're a contractor, not an employee. I don't know of any true contractor that gets paid a salary or holidays. It comes with being a contractor.

Disagree. You have good and bad employees in all businesses. My experience has been unionized companies double or triple the amount of time it takes to get something done. Some of this is the union rules while others it is the employee. Union employees aren't required to exert themself because there are seldom any repercussions if they don't. They still get the rate increases and same choice of vacation days simply because they have the years of service.

This isn't always the employees fault. In many cases they can not do more than what their job calls for. They simply are not allowed to.

I would not work for a union. No way will I ever let date of hire dictate my ability to advance. I had enough of that in the Military.

Calm down buckaroo… I’m not saying the iPad doesn’t fit a niche. But it is just that… a niche... They are expensive for what they do and many do not use it to the extent that justifies the extra money spent. The fire is a deal at $200. You can’t say that about the iPad.

You can open Office documents on the Kindle as well and remote desktop to other PCs/Servers. I've done both. Unless you are planning to be replace your computer the Kindle is capable of many tasks the iPad can do. It is not as big or powerful but will do more than just stream content and display books. I don't drink the Apple cool aid but will say it fits a need. I have seen a few people replace their iPads with some of the android tablets lately.

It is much more of a "real" computer than the fire and pretty dang close to an actual laptop. Many people can replace 90% or more of their daily tasks with one. The fire fits me better though as the battery life is outstanding and I'm not looking to replace my laptop.

The iPad and Fire really aren’t comparable. If you want to read books, surf the internet, stream videos and music along with other “app” type things then the fire will probably be just fine for you. If you want something you can use as an actual computer then you will not be happy with the kindle. I have the kindle and like it a lot. I have friends that have the iPad and wouldn’t give it up for anything. I’m not a “gadget” type of person and fire fills every need I have. If I want a computer I use my laptop.
