  3. Dr. Larry Crabb says that regular individuals can offer a lot to one another. Has anyone read this or any of his other books? Connecting: Healing for Ourselves and Our Relationships: In his most significant book to date, Dr. Larry Crabb expands on his lifelong work in the field of psychotherapy to adopt a groundbreaking, but biblical, approach to healing the deep wounds of the soul-an approach that centers around building intimate, healing mini-communities in our lives and churches. Dr. Crabb envisions a day when communities of God's people-ordinary Christians whose lives conn
  4. I noticed the article says they xchanged "vows," and "will not divulge whether or not they actually tied the knot." It doesn't say if it was a wedding ceremony or not. Mama June and Sugar Bear, who met in an online chat room nine years ago, will not divulge whether or not they actually tied the knot yesterday, but said they wanted to celebrate their love in front of family and friends. A rep from TLC told omg!, "We aren't saying what the ceremony is. You will have to wait for those details until it airs this year."
  5. I was always scared for Peter when I thought Mr. McGregor might catch him. My Mother read the book to me many times but I remember feeling especially tense every time she read the part where he was in the watering can. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADi4UnMfSps
  6. I came across this when reading something else. I thought it might interest some of you. I do wonder about its impact on the future: The world's first gun made with 3D printer technology has been successfully fired in the US. The controversial group which created the firearm, Defense Distributed, plans to make the blueprints available online. The group has spent a year trying to create the firearm, which was successfully tested on Saturday at a firing range south of Austin, Texas. ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-22421185
  7. Place non-perishable items in bags by your mailbox on the morning of Saturday May 11, 2013.
  8. Do you know of any people that would be interested in a support group? I'm planning on starting an email group. It can be set up where only members can read posts. Members can post an introduction with some interests and hobbies listed I might be a good way to meet someone who shares a common interest. Then if there is enough interest there can be group metings. Here's the thread I started: http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/topic/300910-social-suuport-ideas-on-where-to-find/#entry3797019
  9. I was thinking about the thread Pubby started on the increase in suicides, the thread Spunkywman started on Loneliness and how I struggle with depression and loneliness myself. I thought I would start this thread for listing ideas and resources for those looking for support for these issues. For those who are in their age range what does the Senior Center in Dallas offer? Has anyone had any experience going there that could describe activities that might be helpful? Are there any local support groups for depression and anxiety, etc.? I have looked before but didn't find any listed onl
  10. Depression has been increasing for decades. I've been looking for ways to feel better for a long time. According to the news Rick Warren's son wasn't helped after trying many treatments and finally committed suicide.
  11. I see it says this on their website. Use their REDcard debit or credit card and: Save 5% at Target and Target.com Free Shipping at Target.com
  12. Is this the same thing that says $14.69 online price? Is shipping free on any size order if you use a Target credit card? (I don't have one but I've been planning on getting one to get the 5% savings at the store.) http://www.target.com/p/boots-no7-protect-perfect-hand-cream-spf15-2-54-oz/-/A-14227758?reco=Rec|pdp|14227758|ClickCP|item_page.vertical_1&lnk=Rec|pdp|ClickCP|item_page.vertical_1
  13. Here's the link to what they show at the Target website. How do their prices compare to Amazon's? http://www.target.com/s/boots+no7
  14. This is the description from their website. You can also put in your zipcode and see the carriers for the area. They have streaming available online for some of the programming for $60 a year: RFD-TV is Rural America’s Most Important Network—in name and in practice-- with programming designed to both cultivate and nourish the country lifestyle. http://www.rfdtv.com/ourstory/

  18. Bruce Lipton has written a book, The Honeymoon Effect, about loving relationships from the view of a scientist. It sounds interesting. Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS5doEng4bc
  19. I just thought I would mention that today, May 2, is National Day of Prayer.
  20. This was the post that mentioned a "small red S10 truck." It was from the "Creep in Hiram" thread.
  21. Before my health got worse I started two email groups after I moved to Georgia: Georgia Crafters and Georgia Gardeners with the idea of having local get-togethers but there was never any interest from anyone in the area. I also joined the meetups website. I asked on p.com several times about any support groups. I find a lot of people already have full lives and a lot of support from family. Now I'm packing and praying to go back the 250+ miles where I used to live.
  22. For those of us who need it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcE1CzQhvl0 Borrowed Hope by Eloise Cole Lend me your hope for a while, I seem to have mislaid mine. Lost and hopeless feelings accompany me daily. Pain and confusion are my companions. I know not where to turn. Looking ahead to the future times Does not bring forth images of renewed hope. I see mirthless times, pain-filled days, and more tragedy. Lend me your hope for a while, I seem to have mislaid mine. Hold my hand and hug me, Listen to all my ramblings. I need
  23. Yes, I'm one of those. Spunkywman, I'll pray for you to find comfort, understanding, support and encouragement.
  24. Pup (Coco?) picked it up somewhere (hidden under furniture, etc. in another room) or outside---and dropped it in the bedroom.
  25. I posted this over a year ago but I thought some of you probably have not seen it plus it's the kind of video that's fun to watch again sometime. I love the attention to detail; the cowboy with the lint brush, etc.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pk7yqlTMvp8
