  1. I wish I could say I live in a community where people aren't like that (on either end of the spectrum), but I'm not sure I can say that. It really is depressing. I always hold out hope for future generations, though. The South is changing, just maybe not as quickly as we think it should. Everybody on here isn't the same, I promise. Not all of us care if a person has an ethnic name (or is named after a civil war general, for that matter). Not all of us only see outside appearances or color or stereotypes. Some of us realize negative stereotypes have more to do with education level and socio
  2. The loss of a single child, no matter how many you have, is the most tragic event a human can suffer. I hope these parents can find a way to be OK. I'm ashamed to be a member of this board sometimes. Death isn't a good debate topic. It isn't political and it doesn't discriminate and you can't change Death's mind. It just is. And I always feel badly when Death comes to someone's door, especially if it takes a much-loved child from his or her parents.
  3. It sounded more like a stereotype to me. If you don't want to be judged, don't be a representative of a negative stereotype. People don't make up stereotypes. Society notices them over time when a group of people display the same behaviors or characteristics. It doesn't mean every member of that particular society has to succumb to the stereotype. There are also positive stereotypes (church ladies, do-gooders, country folks, etc). People choose their own stereotype. Don't confuse a stereotype with a prejudice, they are different animals.
  4. My favorite part was the lady complaining that there were no sidewalks. Dumbass, you bought the house in that subdivision. If you wanted sidewalks, you should have picked a subdivision that has sidewalks. Should Paulding County BOE come and put in sidewalks in your subdivision?
  5. It just made me angry that we have 35 kids (more in high school) in Paulding classrooms and they are bitching about Precious having to walk two driveways down to catch the bus. What a self-centered, useless waste of time and energy. They should be ashamed, as should CBS Atlanta.
  6. In case you haven't seen this horrible, terrifying, dastardly story, check out: http://www.cbsatlanta.com/local-video/index.html Child Safety: School Bus-Stop Changes In Douglasville video. They can FREAKING SEE THE KIDS FROM THEIR HOUSES. WTH? They are bitching because they would have to actually walk their butts a few feet to watch their own children get on the bus? Shameful they are acting like their children are in danger when they are apparently home to complain and make videos (which was pointless, if you can see your kids, they are probably OK). I'm disgusted with these women. L
  7. Awww. That is so sad. Is there a way to help?
  8. Hahahahaha. Nutty lady. Hey hornetmom, WATCH OUT, your neighbor has a video camera! (Please update us if you see these kids playing out in the street unattended this weekend so we can call the news on her. lol)
  9. I understand being worried about a five year old, but if you are really worried, go meet the bus. Why call the news? That is so crazy to me. I wonder what the five year old thinks about it. He/She is probably scared to death to ride the bus now.
  10. Ever wonder why kids grow up thinking every little circumstance is a national disaster? Maybe because your mom calls the news and has them sitting around your house for hours because she didn't like where the bus dropped you off instead of just picking you up herself or walking her ass two houses down?
  11. If it is that serious, like the little girl being dropped off in the middle of nowhere or the wrong subdivision (which I doubt, I know a few bus drivers and they would NEVER do that), I think I would have called 911, not 404-CBS-NEWS. If you think your job is bad, at least you don't have to drive out here from ATL and sit in some lady's living room listening to her biotch for 7 hours...
  12. I kinda blame the "news" crew for even showing up. Slow news day, I guess. I dare you to go down there and ask her how she had time to call the news and no time to go get her kid from school or at least walk outside to meet the bus to make sure she got home safely.
  13. Is the CBS news van going to drive her to school and back now? Or maybe the mom could since she was home? Or maybe it would have been easier to just call the bus barn? I know if I were worried about my 5 year old being delivered to my driveway, I would pick her up myself. But that's just me. I'm not one to make a fuss.
  14. It's amazing how your fortune can change overnight like that. Good job not giving up! I know it was getting stressful over your way. You are a good dude, you deserve the good fortune.
  15. What bar held the benefit? I would like to thank them.
  16. Haha. Where are they all living now? If they are living somewhere and paying rent, I guess they can afford it (if they want to afford it). If they held one of these in Paulding, I wonder how many people would show up for it? I think they should hand out these forms at the unemployment office, after people have looked for a job and have been unable to find one. We shouldn't reward the people who haven't been contributing by giving them a permanent place to squat. We'll never get them off the government teat that way.
  17. Why all the hate for pleasantly plump people? They need love, too. Next someone will want to tax the families that have a history of congenital heart defects and cancer (or skinny people with high blood pressure from worrying about how much money the chubby folks are costing them, lol). I think most heavier people realize they eat too much and/or exercise too little. It's not a secret. I worry more about criminals who are in really good shape (so they can escape).
  18. One of the reports I read said it wasn't luggage, that she slammed the compartment door down on his head. That is different if it is true. No way for that to be accidental. That is assault. In fact, if the luggage she was trying to get before the plane stopped at the gate hit him, that's on her, too. I read on here, and other places, about how people get upset and show their butts in public and are so proud of it. I'm not proud if I am an ass in public, even if I feel justified. I feel like I lost if I let someone push my buttons enough to gain complete control of my emotions. Then I am as
  19. The woman injured him. You would pity her if she cut your head open? Where do you work? I could handle being pitied if I could pop someone upside the head just once.
  20. I'm sure you are mistaken. "If you build it, he will come" ~ Field of Dreams (and Paulding BOC) They just approved the permits and didn't expect anybody to move here? Hahaha
  21. I always feel for the candidate who wasn't successful after the polls have closed. I hope the former DA has a good position waiting on him and a bright future and I hope I don't have to eat my words of support for the winner. Only time will tell. I think I have lost my taste for political discussions. They always seem to bring out the worst in people, including myself.
  22. Oh, well, if you say so... I'll just vote like you do because you talked to him. That satisfies all my concerns.
  23. I'm going to stop paying taxes and give my money to that lady that buys lottery tickets. At least one person would be happy then.
