Careful, you are bordering on idolatry. You may want to change that to "subject" of that faith. Don't worry too much about people accepting what you say at face value. Your closed religious door will keep most people away. I always hope the people who choose their religious view over all other living things are correct. Because it would be just sad if it were otherwise...

Hahaha. True dat. You will never really know until you die. Then you can post on here about the truth. Until then, the all-knowing attitude is just annoying to the rest of us. (Not you, lowrider, the other "you".) I tease on here about religion because I think it is absolutely crazy to think that only you are "right" and everybody else is "wrong" and that a single living human being has any of the answers. All the good ideas are taken and the folks who had them passed long ago. Religion is a personal issue. If you need to publicly flaunt it, or worse, publicly instill it in others

Your post was touching. I find this subject one of the hardest to talk about because it is so real and it matters so much. Love, true fear, and pride all mixed together. I notice every flag and every bumper sticker or unit patch decal when I have one deployed. People don't realize how much their support does help. May your boy come home safely.

The thoughts slip in when you are bent over. Be very careful.

You can't steal an idea/ritual from a religion then act like that religion offends you. Did you know it was Muhammad's Christian uncle who convinced him he was the prophet? All the other Arabs at the time thought he was a nutjob. Just a bit of history... (Waraqa, look it up.)

I wasn't bashing. Just sayin'. Eastern mysticism (Vedic belief system) was established long before any other religion. You could say Christian religious beliefs were contrary to Hindu beliefs if you want to take an historical stand. Too many people try to repackage things with the a Christian logo and think they have changed the nature of it. Yoga is a spiritual practice that is tied to it's original context and cannot be separated from Eastern religions just by renaming it. If you truly believe Christianity should be separated from all other religions, you should burn your yoga DVD.

I just looked up "Christian yoga". Hate to tell you, they just switched out god names. It's the same thing. It's like wearing one of these: and calling a Christian Cap. hahahaha (Jesus Juice springs to mind, as well.) I know I'm horrible, but it's true.

I'm surprised they still let kids dress like the 3 wise men for the nativity. I see so many Christian folks invoking the name of "karma" when they get ill. Eastern religion is only allowed if you are p*ssed off enough to wish someone else ill, I guess. (Total misconception of karma, btw. Karma refers to the state of one's own being, not some disaster that you want to befall others. Wishing someone else to have bad karma only damages yourself. Most misused word on the Internet besides "sale" and "sell".)

11-year-old found with handgun at Paulding County school
hart408 replied to onekidmom's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I feel sorry for kids who make this kind of decision, but they know better. All kids, even little kids, know they can't bring guns to school. There has to be a thought process involved with actually putting the gun in your book bag. If somewhere along the way they didn't say to themselves, "This is a really bad idea. I could hurt someone or get in really bad trouble," then they really shouldn't be allowed to go to school with other students. There has to be a line somewhere, and this is that line. You can't pretend you didn't know there was a heavy handgun in your bag. I feel bad for the paren -

I did. Parents don't realize they are giving their kids permission to act out when they try to justify every wrong action with a good reason. Sometimes kids do stupid sh*t. They don't need a good reason, and they don't benefit from too much parental excuse making. If kids hear you making up justifications for some other kid bringing a gun to school, they know they can get away with lesser offenses by supplying a lame-ass reason. I see it every day. And the parents just cannot figure out what has gotten into little Johnny. We have a no excuse policy with mine. Either you did or you didn't, -
11-year-old found with handgun at Paulding County school

It's amusing and scary reading about why it's OK to bring a gun to school now. I can't think of one good reason. I hope he is expelled from this system. That is the punishment for bringing a gun to school. YDC time should be added for bringing ammunition. Handguns are for killing. If they are brought to school, they are for killing kids and teachers. He may get some probation and forced counseling out of this, but I doubt our juvenile court system will really punish him since they released him to go home (where he got the gun and ammo) after this incident. I have to admit, it makes me -
Doesn't matter what you try to control or predict, marriage is a crap shoot. You are rolling the dice. You never know what someone will think or do ten years down the road. Question is, do you feel lucky? lol.

Your entire post was, again, awesome. I have to admit that I am usually so busy, or self-absorbed I guess, that I forget most of what I voted for/against after a few years. Except for which politicians I endorsed/despised, which is crazy because things like bond votes and county matters are just as important as the presidential elections in day-to-day life. You seem to keep up with most issues that effect Paulding. That is amazing to me. Thank you for posting actual information. The Sound Guy ~ He thinks so I don't have toTM. lol. Two years ago I might have not had such a problem with SPLO

Really? This is your final thought? Let's review your posts so far "Did you vote for Obama?" "So you want your kids to go to school, sit it a classroom all day with nothing else to do." "If you don't live in Paulding, why are you even in this conversation??????? Do you think I would come to the county where you live and try to tell what you ahould or not do." "The sales tax is not an increase, just what we are already paying, but if it don't go in, we will have an increase, it has to come from somewhere. Little Johnny cannot get an education with out it. I for one think they

I need to figure out what exact bond they are referring to with this SPLOST. As far as I can tell, the bonds they are referring to are old bonds that we still owe (to pay for the North complex and the new schools since then). Source: http://www.times-georgian.com/view/full_story/9634222/article-SPLOST-IV-would-eliminate-school-bond-tax?instance=west_ga_news. Since the last SPLOST paid for new construction, I'm not sure you haven't already been paying for the school bonds this entire time, plus SPLOST. I may call and ask the county on Monday. I looked and I think it is the bond of 2007 this SPL

Honestly, there is only so much they can raise property taxes before people raise holy hell. It has a built-in limit. SPLOST is the rip-off because it gets you every single time you need groceries or your kids need something. Plus, as I stated, I'm not sure all the SPLOST money we pay makes it to the county. That is why we are having these huge school cuts in the first place, Georgia isn't getting paid the sales tax from businesses that they owe. It is much easier for a business to cook the books than it is for the county to steal our property taxes. If people cannot afford to buy a home,

If we have to pay for the bonds, we should still vote NO and get our tax break. Those deductions really add up when you do your taxes. If you decide to go the SPLOST route, you don't get any return on that. Individuals will be much better off paying through property taxes. Who even knows if all the SPLOST money makes it out the businesses who collect it. It is a huge problem in Georgia, businesses just keeping the sales tax instead of giving it to the county. Who knows how much we paid in the last SPLOST that ended up in business owner's pockets. I read somewhere that our county plans to t

I agree with this. The problem lies with the board office not doing the districting correctly. There shouldn't be half empty schools in one part of the county and overflowing schools in another part. Spend a little more time districting, use actual numbers, change up the bus routes, and there wouldn't be a problem. But no, our crazy system wants to build a school on every block so they don't have to take the time to even it out. The board office already stated they took money from school employees to pay for the heating/cooling/operating costs of the schools. If some schools are wasti

If we voted in bonds, they are supposed to be paid by property tax increases. That's how they are funded. I'm still not sure about the bonds, I'll have to look it up to see if we already sunk our own boats (after dinner maybe). Whether we did or not, bonds (and SPLOST) can ONLY be used for new building, buying equipment for buildings, adding on/remodeling buildings, or buying new land. The money CANNOT be used for salaries, supplies for kids, textbooks, or anything else kids or teachers need. It can only be used for buildings. We already have plenty of space in our buildings, even if we ke

Example of why parents should NOT allow their kids

Ask her to move in with you. Hahaha. -
Haha. It amazes me how people don't see that. Surely there isn't another reason they don't like Obama? Also, property taxes are tax deductible. Giving extra money when you buy groceries and clothes is NOT. All the people who expect to get a refund this next year should VOTE NO!
-
So, what I am getting from the other side, if I am not mistaken, is: VOTE YES BECAUSE MEXICANS CARRY CASH! My god. That is the great defense? Of course everybody has considered that all school bonds are an ADDITIONAL TAX that we vote on. School bonds can ONLY BE USED FOR CAPITAL OUTLAY PROJECTS. I need to check to see if we have already voted in the bonds. If we did, they are intended to be paid by property taxes. MAKE THEM TAKE IT. STOP giving people money to build things we don't need right now. Most of you gripe about the president then turn around and do the same damn thi
